  • This is a very long winded video showing and explaining my Harvest Right Large Freeze Dryer set up an almost all of the accessories I use to prep food, freeze dry food and then package that food for storage. Some storage is short term and some is long term. Please let me know what you think or if you have any suggestions that might help me out. Thanks for watching.

I love a lot of the ideas, especially the tip for the three fans! I have one point at the pump, but the second one sucking the warm air out of the unit itself is absolutely GENIOUS!!!

Love the set up. Very organized!
Tipp: most measuring cups come with milliliter marks. With these you safe yourself the trouble converting the grams in to liquid oz.
1 g water equals 1 ml water. So for your example with 95 g you need to measure 95 ml. (That’s 100% accurate for water)

I mounted my fan on the wall so it blows down on top of my vacuum pump so that it provides equal air flow on both sides. Note that the rear of the pump has a built-in fan. The front half is where it gets hot.

I use the bag spreaders for some of my freezing. Here is what I have found. First of all the entire contraption is too light. Glue some ballast to the bottom of it. I had some flat steel that I screwed to the bottom, does wonders for stability while filling. Second, the bag holders are frankly crap. I use a pair of plastic clothespins instead. After doing that the bagger is great.
