Yeah I did a great job it went up a bunch of trails a stock 4Runner with open differentials can do.. it tried to flip over a few times because the front end was engaging and disengaging at will freaking terrifying on a steep climb
I’ve read some things about the 4 seaters makin more driveline noise.. and also.. you gotta look at the source. It’s a rental. It’s got the shit beat out of it… I’d expect it to make noises
I love the old Can-Am vs Polaris videos by Can-Am where they asked pros and they replied that Can-Am's engage faster. Lol scientifically the opposite of reality. Viscolok is terrible.
"its no talon or yxz"..... yes might as well compare my hyundai to a mercedes XD Overall, I think this thing does a pretty good job considering the price, features available, and what it was made/intended to do, this is one of the more cheaper options right?
Yeah this was the cheaper model but after driving it all day I never want to get in another one everyone that got out of it literally had a headache from the constant squeaks pops belt noise just doesn't feel like a quality machine
In certain situations it can be great but the big issue with Polaris is that there's a difference in the gear ratio between the front and rear most people don't realize how rear slip is required for the front to engage
@@MudPuppyOffroad i have a 21 850 sportsman and i have tried to notice the rear spinning before the front engages and i have never been able to notice. I do notice my steering stiffen up in 4x4 so to me it seems like there is torque going to all 4 wheels more often than not. Defiantly a pretty sensitive system to the rear wheels turning faster than the front, it's always worked great for me
@@andrewvantassel5181 I went through three front differentials on my RZR 900 and three front differentials on my 850 that system is a friction-based system that relies on one way clutches it's not gear to gear
@@MudPuppyOffroad yeah I believe it, I'm not doing much mudding or running big tires so it's great for me. Obviously Yamaha/Honda with a real locker the 100% way. If I'm not mistaken there are basically magnetic clutches in the Polaris diff, and it doesn't take much to imagine big tires overcoming the strength of friction of those clutches
Had my 2024 commander 700XT out riding the same spots for 6 solid hours with no problems. I think people and you are just stuck on the fan boy brand shit and not really comparing. All machines within the same price point will have its own sets of pros and cons, and that's just like everything else. I do enjoy my Commander a lot, but I'm really interested in the Segway machines though I needed a sports utility vehicle for the convenience.
Hey Jerry thanks for your opinion but unless you have videos to show that you did the same obstacles your opinion is completely irrelevant. The visco lock front end is inadequate for any of the harder optional obstacles which I'm sure you went around. I did the same obstacles the next day in an RMAX which is significantly shorter wheelbase and it performed much better because it has a true front locker.
@@MudPuppyOffroad It's not an opinion it's an observation from what I experienced during the ride. I think your judgement comes from inexperience on those obstacles. RMAX is another capable machine, they all have their strengths and weaknesses, but this video is a bad representation of what the commander can actually do. I have no video but I do challenge you head-to-head on the same obstacles.
@@jerrystevenson9507 You're right I am pretty inexperienced driving a three-wheel drive side by side with terrible clutching up steep stuff lol I'm good thanks.
You should have engaged the 4X4 and left it engaged for the entire ride instead of sniveling about having to switch back and forth.
Um no... It handles better in 2wd and we had alot of ground to cover. Also 2wd is more fun
2 wheel drive with the dif unlocked is called turf mod 1 wheel drive. Learn the machine before you challenge MOAB
Oh wow! What an expert you are! thank you so much for explaining that I had no idea!
Somebody had to tell you cause apparently you have no clue
@@MudPuppyOffroadya cant spout off in your videos and not expect people to comment.... Then your rude to them? Good luck with your channel lol
Can you talk pretty bad about it, but it looked like it was doing a good job to me

I love the “it’s no talon or yxz” well hell no, like comparing an apple to oranges…. The one you’d compare to those would be an X3

It's a brand new rental...
You can am boys always have the most insightful comments
@@MudPuppyOffroad I have a rzr.. lol
60hrs is not brand new.. I mean it’s not very old. But 60hrs is not brand new… you can destroy one in 1 hour 😅
The commander is a beast
It would be a lot more beastly if this one had Smart Lock and a better suspension bushings but yes I like the gearing a lot

Big fact
That rattle is the driveline
Lovely
No shit lol just add smart lok. I did it to my max xt
Its a rental...
Air down your tires.
