- Dead and Company at the MSG Sphere in Las Vegas. 24th May 2024.
This was the first show of the second weekend. The visuals were absolutely amazing, taking full advantage of the Sphere. Another thing I noticed was that at most recent concerts I have been to (Ed Sheeran, Foo Fighters), the sound is up around 105db at peak, and you leave with ringing in your ears. At the Sphere, it peaked around 85db, and there was no ringing, yet it sounded loud and amazing.
Been Greatful for more than 50 years!
Greatful I can still make some concerts & can still listen and play my Dead outside on the patio until Mom Unit tunes me and the volume down!!! 75 and still need my daliy Dead!!!!

@@BruceTrevarthen Was on the floor at this show acoustics were just fine I was right in front of John and heard everyone loud and clear they've really got their sound dialed...as for the visuals...may not have had the same scope but there was still a lot to enjoy and look around at!

Then I remastered the audio in Logic Pro to clean up the peaks you get in a concert environment.

If you are waiting for Hey Jude, they skipped the song and played the end only, same as it ever was. There is no full song here.
Sorry if the title got confusing, I was trying to convey that it’s the full Mr Fantasy song with Hey Jude on the end, rather than a short clip.

It has a pleasant “grove” that builds and entices you to move. Each to their own but every song doesn’t need to result in ‘getting down’. It’s a musical journey and a soul enriching experience.

We couldn't dance to the original versions of Dear Mr Fantasy or Hey Jude either....but we still loved them. Every song Dead & Co play isn't about dancing....never has been. We didn't dance to Brokedown Palace either when I saw the show last month.

I was there that night and, yes, I paid for it. And thoroughly enjoyed it. If you've a Dead fan you get it. If you not, I guess you don't. Its all good.
