    double check, most states require directionals to be 14" apart, those are pretty horrible for visibility as well. You may also want to check your plate, most states require a light

    Just got the Michelin Commander 2 tires today for my ‘18 scout sixty and heartily agree they are worth every penny! Also, a month or two ago I got the Kuryakin mini floor boards and yeah!, totally different and better bike. I purchased mine with slip on exhaust already installed and they are a huge difference. Instead of an after market flash or programmer, I got the Indian performance intake which comes with a computer flash from the dealership, also worth it. Also, did your rear shock tightening from one of your other vids and Wow!, big difference. I’d love to do some of your other mods, but you must make a lot more money than me. The one thing my bike has that I can’t go without are EZ brackets and Viking side bags. They just offer so much more utility to an already cool bike. Thanks for the vid. Sometimes it’s fun to watch what other people have done with their bike. I think you are running out of products to put on yours. I’d love to see what you would do to a Kawasaki KLR. I bet it would end up looking like a space station, hah!

    • @1ManWrenching

      Definitely running out of mods. And yeah, I pulled a loan out against my 401k to rapidly get the bike where I wanted it. Just finished paying that back, actually. I’ve done a few more mods since this video. 7” headlight, air horn, and much better rear blinkers are the big three that come to mind.

    Mám také Skauta, z roku 2017. Osadil jsem padací rám na kterém jsou přídavná diodová světla, stupačky vyměnil za plotny originál Indián, malé brašny na to nejnutnější, lékárnička, reflexní vesta, nářadí, nepromokavý oblek, pití na cestu. Zvýšil jsem o 3cm řídítka, rozšířil zrcátka, přidal "tempomat", zakryl mřížkou místo mezi rámem a hlavou druhého válce, řadící páku předělal na kolíbku. Najeto 26000 km, zatím jen benzin, olej a Brigestony.

    Indicator issues on the rear of this bike for sure. Shield is way too low toward shielding the rider from the wind, however I definitely agree with the issue you raised with the stock shields that cause way too much buffeting over 100 kph. I ended up swapping it out for an after market shield that has a similar shape to the one in this video, only taller. I mostly love all other upgrades. Thank you heaps for sharing :)

    • @1ManWrenching
      @1ManWrenching  6 лет назад +1

      I’ve got a newer video where I fix the blinker problem. This was the video where I discovered just how bad my previous setup was.
      That windfly puts a perfectly smooth wind flow exactly where I need it, off my body and around my helmet. It really does work better than you’d expect. I wanted the smallest possible so it didn’t detract from the bike’s looks.

    • @jasonjackson5696

      MotoCycle - all of the upgrades almost cost the value of the bike itself but I get it. While is sounds like a bit of a waste of money, I’m very sure I would do the same thing .... there’s something about tweaking it to your own specs that makes the ride that much more satisfying.
      Great job on it.

    Nice video. Love most of the upgrades,except the rear blinkers, I might look into the auto clutch for my wife's Scout, oh your missing one of your bolts in your clutch cover, I like to use permatex blue removable thread locker on my bolts they don't vibrate out. Thanks for making the video.

    • @1ManWrenching
      @1ManWrenching  6 лет назад

      Thanks. Yeah, I just published a video with my improved rear blinkers. I agree, the ones in this video were not great. New ones are pretty amazing.
      And yes, the bolt is missing. Check out my auto clutch install video, all the bolts were rusted and I haven’t gotten around to replacing this one yet.

  • @DoRC
    @DoRC 6 лет назад +1

    Actually i dont think those blinkers would count. They need to be a certain brightness to qualify. Plus they are too close together. Its always a head scratcher when someone sacrifices visibility for style on a bike.

    • @1ManWrenching
      @1ManWrenching  6 лет назад +1

      In a later video I upgrade to some far better blinkers. It was while shooting this video that I realized just how bad these were.

    • @DoRC
      @DoRC 6 лет назад +1

      @@1ManWrenching Good! I don't think there's anything more important on a bike than visibility to other drivers. Most accidents (where the rider wasn't doing something stupid) are caused by the driver simply not seeing the bike)

    • @1ManWrenching
      @1ManWrenching  3 года назад +1

      You can do the big bore upgrade to a 60. Otherwise, not much point to it. Doesn’t Rev higher, doesn’t get better gas mileage. Lacks 5th gear (goes from 4th to 6th). The 60 just always seemed pointless to me. 🤷‍♂️

  • @DBMac58

    Hey, I just received the Corbin seat like yours, but black. I was wondering did yours come with a hole in it where the seat heat control switch mounts. The only thing is I don’t have seat heat and it’s only covered by the vinyl on the side panel. Yes, I said vinyl! The seat is advertised leather, but the black has no option for black leather for the side panels, it just has black as an option and of course I wanted it black. I’m not to happy with this Corbin seat, I guess I’m going to get to know their customer support real soon. I was just wondering if yours has these features?

    • @1ManWrenching
      @1ManWrenching  4 года назад +1

      Wow. No, I didn’t have any holes in the side of mine. They did ignore my height specs and sent me a standard seat, I couldn’t ride the bike that far back. They wouldn’t pay return shipping to fix their mistake. All in all it took them 3 months to get it done for me.

    • @DBMac58
      @DBMac58 4 года назад

      MotoCycle Is your Corbin seat leather on the seat and side panels? They seem to think it’s alright to put vinyl on the sides. Paid to much for a leather seat for them to put vinyl on the sides.

    What i cant stand is the way the rise of the bars doesnt 'lineup with fork angle more. its the same with the stock bars,..it just looks wrong. I know its got a lot to do with the rake angle being steep. I am hoping putting some mini apes and reduced reach seat will allow me to stand up bars more in line with fork angle. The only other bars i found to fit were the Dean Speed "matadors",..but they only make them in black, and I want the polished stainless steel bars,..so other than swapping out all the controls to 1" dia to get more choice on bars, it looks like mini apes are the only easy option

      @1ManWrenching  6 лет назад +1

      Saw a 20% performance improvement on the dyno. Up from a stock 82hp at the rear tire to 99. (The factory rating of 100hp is at the engine, there are some pretty major powertrain losses.

    Don’t you need a key for the steering lock or does it not have one?

    • @1ManWrenching
      @1ManWrenching  4 года назад

      In the US, this bike does not have a steering lock. That said, in a later video I added it.

      The Scout in the US doesn’t have steering lock. But if you add it or have it outside the US, it’s completely separate from the ignition.

    Victory had cruise control on availabile on all there models 2009 till the end why wouldn’t they carry that popular option over to all Indians

    • @1ManWrenching
      @1ManWrenching  4 года назад

      I suspect Polaris didn’t want to make the Scout TOO good. They priced it really low to compete with Harley’s sportsters, so they’re really not making much money on it. They were hoping that it’d be a gateway into the Indian brand and owners would upgrade to a heavyweight. And now that the Challenger exists, I probably will. I won’t do an aircooled bike, so it’s nice to have a Scout based watercooled heavyweight cruiser option.

    That's the bad thing about all these bikes, the cost of aftermarket parts to get the bike like you want it is $$$$$$$$$$$. Then when you sell it the buyer wants all the add-ons for free.
    I did all kinds of add-ons to my Street Tripple now I want to sell it for a scout.

    • @1ManWrenching
      @1ManWrenching  4 года назад +2

      Good mods cost money. Low cost mods won’t last long. Do mods to make the bike your ideal bike. The next buyer is going to have their own tastes, your mods may be negatives to them. I collect my bikes, never expecting anyone to get them after me. Quality mods matter, and resale value just isn’t a consideration for me.

    All that smack you were talking about the exhaust sounding like a V-8 and you DON'T start her up? Lame. I've heard slip-on that sounded as deep and loud as Harley pipes.
    The only mods I like are the key fob and tires. I might say pipes too, but...

    • @1ManWrenching
      @1ManWrenching  5 лет назад

      Fair enough. I have an install video, and several videos of rides, cold start videos, and even one where I switched this out to the “quiet” baffles.
      None of these products were sponsored, so I’m only going to go so far on pushing the ones I really liked. I spent over $1000 on this exhaust by the time I had the quiet baffle installed, to say nothing of replacing the rear caliper it damaged. The manufacturer stopped replying to emails when I mentioned the dangerous caliper damage, so honestly, I recommend NOT getting this exhaust, at this point.
