    I wish you showed more of that bike with those bags on it, I got a few glimpses of it and they were quick, that's like sex with no orgasm I might consider getting those to replace the larger viking bags I bought, but I would like to see more of how they look look on the Scout, from what I could see they look very neat clean streamlined and not as big and bulky

    Wow you did this over 4 years ago...but I just found it and glad I did. I bought one of Leatherworks tool bags and was so impressed with quality of leather and craftsmanship I decided to go with the same setup you have except the smaller 225 saddlebags. Thanks for the excellent tips on install. I was a bit concerned with the easy brackets but after watching your video they seem well made. Do you still have this bike w/ same bag setup? If so how are they holding up after a few years? Beautiful bikes in the garage! Thanks again.

    I like the way those bags work, look, and attach to the bike. Unfortunately I don't see anything for the 2018 Bobber model. The bags you can purchase from Indian look like wallet size and are way expensive for what you get. The spacing of the fender strut holes may be the same, but are at a different angle than the scout or sixty. Anyway, bike looks awesome! They both do!!

    • @RenchRanch
      @RenchRanch  3 года назад

      It's a Willie & Max. I used the mounting holes for the lower belt guard with longer bolts, stand-offs, and a aluminum bar that was drilled to give me something to strap the swing arm bag to. I also have the Scout Bobber belt guard which is metal and has "holes", again to give me something to strap the bag to. It fits right where the shock is, doesn't hit the belt, and I can still get to the side stand. Thanks for watching.

    Hey Micheal,
    I noticed you didn't mention the new swing arm bag. Did you change your mind? I've mounted stuff before and realized on long rides it wouldn't work anymore and took it off too ...
    Thank you for all of your awe inspiring moto videos. You've given me helpful ideas on my 16'.
    You really have an eye for what looks good, and what doesn't. I can't wait to see more projects . Also , how comfy is the seat been after riding on it around a year or so? If it's good I might buy it . Thank u mike 😎

    • @RenchRanch
      @RenchRanch  6 лет назад

      My swing arm bag is still there. The Leatherworks Pony Express Saddlebags work just fine with the swing arm bag with no issues. The Sissybar Bag is just for the upper rack. Just have to noodle out a way to mount it. I think that I will use some velcro buckle straps instead of the provided leather strap. It may require I modify the little bag but no worries. The 1920's solo seat is plenty comfy but everyone's different so you will just have to give it a try at an Indian dealer if they have one installed. Thanks for watching.

    Which bag# is that? There are several Pony Express sizes. I'm running stock exhaust so I looks like I will need the 303+2 at 10" high & 15" long. My wife says I should pay the $10 extra and get the 7" deep bags rather than the standard 5" deep. What the dimensions of yours?

    • @RenchRanch
      @RenchRanch  4 года назад

      I have the Leatherworks Pony Express 103 Saddle Bags (and a Willie & Max Swing Arm Bag with custom mounts I made). They measure 12"x13.5"x 5" (H x L x D). I wanted the narrower ones as I don't do long distance riding on my Scout Sixty. If your using the Easy Brackets you will have room to adjust the fit as you have to drill the holes. If you really want to know how much room you'll have, cut a flat piece of cardboard to the dimensions of the bag (minus the depth). Then hold it up on the exhaust side. That is what I did before I ordered my bags. Thanks for watching!

      @@RenchRanch Thanks for responding. One more quick question. How far out from the fender does the bag sit? I'm estimating about 2" accounting for the spindle and bracket?

    • @RenchRanch
      @RenchRanch  4 года назад +1

      Not even. it's basically standing out the thickness of the Easy Bracket. Now if your not using a factory passenger back rest (i.e. solo seat) then the Easy Bracket sits closer to the bike. If you have the other situation you need to order the correct version of Easy Bracket. I think in that case it will have more gap. Honestly it's pretty tight to the bike considering it's easily removable. Cheers!

      I think they would fit with the stock exhaust even where I have them mounted. Since you have to drill the bags anyway you can always adjust. You can always contact Leatherworks to see about getting them custom made if you need more than the Pony Express 5" width. Thanks for watching.

      The Leatherworks Saddlebags are sold as pairs. The Easy Brackets are sold separately. You can specify if you have existing factory passenger seat & backrest as the Easy Brackets can be ordered for either. Leatherworks will ask you to specify that on the order.

      I didn't get a chance to make a video of it, but it's an Eagle Lights Halo LED Projector Light. Just Google Eagle Lights and you'll find their webpage. It's a complete assembly that replaces the factory headlight bucket. Plugs right in.
      On the Scout Sixty, the headlight ring is a bit tight due to the paint. So you may have to file the inner part of the ring to get it to fit over then headlight properly. If you have the bigger 1133 Scout, the ring will drop right over. Thanks for watching.

      Anytime I need hardware, assuming I know the size, I get it from Fastenal. They carry everything. You only need the extra 10mm length to the M8 x 1.25 bolt if you have the MSR CNC Fender Brace / Trim. Otherwise the provided hardware in the Easy Bracket kit is plenty long enough to do the job.
