Becky D it’s partially waterproof. It won’t smudge in cold water, you need warm water to remove it. It also works very well for people with oily eyelids.
Definitely considering buying this for sustainability reasons. It's just not ok to me that I buy a new plastic tube ever few months :( Considering my Dior mini mascara also smudges, I can live with this!
@@TanealyaKimBeauty hahaha plastic can be recycled only three times! At the end it be will end in the landfill!Make a research before you write something about recycle and make up!Most make up plastic containers end to the landfill !
Same! It sucks that there is a lot of trial and error in the makeup world for sustainable makeup but if we continue buying these products, they can get better over time and then others will join in without thinking about the sustainability aspect.
Hello! Nice to write to you Well, I read your comment and I found the way in which you express yourself very interesting You're not going to believe that!!! But today 10 minutes ago I discovered this brand of products. And I got to this video go down to the comments and I found I am encouraged so much that I would like to buy some as I am a fan of makeup and on my way to study it professionally. I lived my whole childhood in united states. I had to go back to Mexico I am from Mexico and currently live in Baja California Mexico. I'd like to know how you buy them ? Online? Or how? Thank you so much for answering me if you do Hopefully Thank you again 😉
try cinema secrets eyeliner sealer. a drop or two will make it waterproof. you pick it up on camera ready cosmetics. (CRC) a bottle cost 10 dollars and will last quit a while
Its definitely not waterproof. However, i thought it was funny you thought it was a disaster with a tiny bit of running . I cried yesterday and i had black rivers EVERYWHERE on my face LOL
I am 55 and my grandmother introduced me to makeup....my first mascara was Rimmel cake mascara...... I loved it and I have hated the liquid since then...You made me a happy lady
I just learned about cake mascara not that long ago - watching a film noir where she spit into her cake mascara to activate it. I plan on giving this a try! (Cake mascara, not spitting into it!)
This is the 4th video I have watched on this and nobody does what we used to do in the 60s: Use your saliva. Not water. To wet the cake. Sticks better.
Marlan Warren the old tricks works best. Hollywood stars like Ms Monroe would use Vaseline as a makeup primer and it works better than any modern primer, also acts as a barrier for sensitive skin.
An Marian, I remember my older sister spitting into her cake mascara tin, mixing with the brush and applying her very spidery, huge eyelashes, along with false eye lashes and eyeliner, which was thin, shiny and plastic like, when she removed it later on.
Maybe try it again without the onions? Lol. I feel like with any mascara if your eyes water it will come off to an extent. Also it’s supposed to be what they used in the 20’s so they didn’t have the technology we have with makeup today. Long wear long lasting etc. Thanks for the review 😊
I bought this I use a old mascara brush I loved (miss manga by maybelline) wash in between uses but it made it work so much better then the brush they provide 😊
well if you dilute the thing with water, it ain't water proof for sure. Good thing it does not "snow" in your undereye section. I think for non water proof is pretty decent, it does not go bad in time....cool
Thanks for the helpful review. I like the concept of applying it myself as a mascara and as an eyeliner, and I like that it doesn't cake onto your eyelashes, but as a person who often accidentally touches her eyes, I gather this won't be a smart choice...
it is activated with water so it would be surprising if it was water proof. that being said I really like the natural look it gives and how long you can use it for. I don't wear makeup often so it always feels like such a waste to buy a whole mascara tube that'll be contaminated in a few months
Thanks for this. I want that natural look, but it’s not “natural” to have black running all over my eyes. :(. Any suggestions out there? A darkening mascara that doesn’t add volume or length? And stays put? I guess I want something like a stain. Thanks!
They have something similar on etsy, but its half the price of this mascara. I think ur just paying for packaging on this item. But i want to try it, as well as the setting powder! Tfs review
I thought about getting an Etsy Mascara but I’m not sure. Like are they regulated? Or is it someone at home making mascara? I decided to pay more for this one.
Ik that once you buy the tin box, you can continue buying just the cake which is way cheaper so in the long run, you are being environmentally friendly and if you subscribe to the formula, you get the cakes cheaper each time you run out.
I have this & LOVE it! I bought the mascara brush set to use with it & that works much better!!! ❤
Awesome! I'll try it with a spoolie next time hahaha
It couldn't be waterproof if it's water activated...
Very true!
You could use a waterproof liner sealant if you need waterproof, I suppose.

Wow never thought about that! Let us know if you try it!
The plastic tube is recyclable though

I have used them for 5 years! It's a journey at first but after a few tries you'll get into it. I only wear Besame makeup.
I wish I could be the sort of person that only wears Besame! So glamorous! Thanks for your encouragement!

What do you use as a wand?
How do you clean the wand?

just one thing to be clear. a drop or two on the cake and make a paste. use a long handle spoolie works easier.
Wow! Thanks for the tip - I'll take a look and try it out!
Krylon also makes a ‘cake eyeliner sealer’ that turns anything into a bulletproof finish :)
Its definitely not waterproof. However, i thought it was funny you thought it was a disaster with a tiny bit of running . I cried yesterday and i had black rivers EVERYWHERE on my face LOL
Hahahah... aww I'm sorry to hear that! I hope it was just onion tears!

Would there be another alternative besides saliva. Maybe water with cornstarch?

Woah, great idea~! I'm gonna have to try that out!

You need to add the white define powder so that the mascara won’t get all over your eyes.
Thanks for the tip. Translucent powder?

Hey, fellow Canadian! Loved the video and your dedication to the testing. (My SIL lives in your town!) 💜
Thank you so much for your lovely comment! What a small world :)
Do you have to curl your lashes first before you apply it on ?
I wish I had it in brown. I am a redhead and black is too harsh for me.
Oh yeah, good call!
I think I've seen brown advertised in the last few months.
They have brown! They’re currently out of the tins for it though. I bought the brown one, since I’m also a pale redhead.
I like this stuff since it’s easy to remove
Nice!
Can you do a review on the Purple Cake Mascara form Besame?
I'll keep my eyes open but it's hard for me to get Besame stuff here in Canada!
Have any allergy sufferers tried the product? Does it irritate? Some mascaras make my eyes puffy.
Hopefully someone'll let us know!
very nice and natural. gonna try it!
So fun! Let us know what you think when you try it!
Love it so great ☺💖👍
+sofia luna thanks for watching!
Yes I'm going to try it
Let us know what you think when you try it out!
Not for me I have very short lashes and it's hardly noticeable. I really wanted to love it but I don't
Thanks for sharing your feedback!
