Although I have not had any lasered, my dad recently had a black and white one very similar size to your women one. He needed 11 sessions to have it removed, yet there are still very faint traces of the tattoo. He said it hurt 10x more than getting the actual tattoo. Hope this helps Xx

I work in a laser Clinic. Pain varies between each client. Numbing cream can be applied hours before to help. More painful during pms. Amount of sessions needed to remove a tattoo completely varies depending on colour of the ink (black is easiest and yellow/ green is hardest), depth of ink, age of ink (less than 6 months or more than 20 years is easiest as collagen hasn't bound to the ink), quality of ink etc.
During the process white frosting (bubbles) appear at the surface, this is oxygen being pushed to the surface from the ink as it fragments with the laser energy not blisters as many believe. Some bloody spotting may occur and therefore scabbing. Treatments occur every 4 weeks ish as long as the blood spotting has scabbed and healed.
      Hope this helps someone.

I got a tattoo lasered. Can agree with your dad 100%. Don’t get it lasered unless you really really want to. Its super expensive and so so painful 😣😖 woudn’t do it again... but once you had one laser session you have to go on with them. There is no going back😕

Monique McKenna style is up to you but my number 1 tip is get a rough idea of design and live with it a while, put it as your wallpaper so you see it ALL the time and wait a few months to see if you still love it. Tip 2 try and design a cohesive sleeve that flows rather than trying to stick together 10 small tattoos, you can do 2 different half sleebves on 1 arm if you're struggling but make sure they work together

My sister had 2 thick and heavy skull and crossbones tattoos around her collar bones and decided to get them lasered off. As a result of how amazingly well they were done I've started to have one of mine done. We both have been to Sk:n clinic (there's one in Holborn, others dotted around in London) and the staff are so nice and informative! It feels like a pinch when they get it done and it will take a long time but there's barely any scarring and you'd never think the was a tattoo there. Mine is particular dark and heavy so will take longer but if it means I'm happy and confident with myself again I'll pay the price! 100% would recommend having a consultation even just to see if it's right for you. xxx

I had a tattoo laser-removed a few years ago and, on a scale of 1-10, the pain was a 12. Unfortunately, it's not just painful whilst it's been removed - the pain lasts afterwards as well because your skin will blister. For reference, the tattoo was small (about 3cm x 3cm), but it still took about 7 sessions for it to be completely gone. In terms of cost, I paid $85 per session (this is in Canada, however, so prices likely vary). As you know, black is really difficult to lift (the colour in it only took about 2-3 sessions to disappear completely), so something to keep in mind. I do not recommend it to anyone - I think you're better off covering your tattoos up or just learning to love them again.

ivana bogunovic I don’t have any scarring! I’m not sure if that varies depending on the size/placement of the tattoo and/or on individual skin types, however. The artist who did mine explained that, in the majority of cases, it doesn’t scar, but definitely a conversation you want to have before going ahead with it!

I’m a laser tech in the US, and I’ve also personally lasered a tattoo off! So first off, getting it off hurts WAYYY worse than actually getting it done, BUT your provider will hopefully give you the option to numb you
As far as sessions, of course every tattoo is different but it also depends on the actual laser, so shop around, there are lasers out there that can get tattoos out in 6 sessions but they were also more lighter/smaller than yours...
Definitely get a consultation, hope this kind of helps?! I’ve been a subscriber for years❤️

I can only speak to the experience I’ve had getting my chest piece lasered, but to me it feels like getting tattooed with electricity lol. It’s by far the most pain I’ve ever felt. I’m 5 sessions in and still need another just to get a coverup, let alone full removal. My advice is if you want to do it, just make sure you’re 100% sure you want them removed. I love the flow of your sleeve so I think it’d look best to lighten and cover up with something you like better so your sleeve still flows with the shape of your shoulder. Whatever you decide I’m excited to see how it turns out! 💕

I had a small 2 inch tattoo removed from my chest. I went to a place on Harley st, it was about 10 years ago though there are lots of places now. Just make sure to research the diff types of lasers and ask how they scale up the laser strength. They usually start you off low, the ramp it up as the pigment starts to break down, I went for 10 sessions. I saw a difference after the second session. I went to a clinic in Belsize Park for 1 session but the laser strength was so low, and they were saying 30 sessions! The ramp up was too long for what I thought I wanted. The one thing to be wary of is that tattoos do leave a scar, we just can’t see the scar because of the pigment. When my tattoo was gone I had a little scar in its place. It’s really faint though just slightly diff texture and I don’t even notice it.

I'm 22 and I've just got my first tattoo, I paid for it with my part time job so I used my own money. My mums reaction, although I thought it was going to be slightly bad, was even worse than I thought. She hasn't talked to me in a while and has expressed to my dad and brother that she thinks I've ruined my body. She was according to my dad balling her eyes out, and now looking at my tattoo, although I absolutely love it, its also sad to look at because its caused a drift between me and my mum. You see, the tattoo itself is of lilac and bees buzzing around it, which is actually an image of nostalgia representing my mum. Its definitely been a difficult time. I'm glad you express so much acceptance, keeps me positive that my mum will come round soon x

I was thinking the same! At first I thought she wants to get them removed to get a different tattoo over it because it is easier to cover up when it isn't that dark. I don't think you can fully remove a Tattoo especially when it is that big and dark.

Hey Sammi, I've just started getting laser. Only one session down. Just thought I'd tell you a couple of things I've learned. I've been quoted 3-5 sessions to get it light enough to cover up (mine is black and dark like yours). So you might need a fair few more if you want it totally gone. Something I didn't realise is that it isn't actually the laser that removes the tattoo, it's your body. The laser just breaks down the ink and your body flushes it out so the results aren't instant. You have to wait 6 weeks between sessions to allow for healing. It hurts a lot! But is over so quickly compared to a tattoo. I can't recommend you a place unfortunately as I've had mine done in Leeds. I hope everything goes well when you get started! X

I’m currently going through the process of having my leg tattoo lasered off.
The process is long and tedious haha. I’m at my 9th session. There is a lot of factors which effect the removal process like the age of the tattoo, the location (closer to the heart the faster it will fade), the colour of the ink, your skin tone, the type of laser used etc. The laser works but creating an immune response in your body so your lymphatic system breaks down the ink and gets rid of it. It is pretty painful in my opinion but it is also worth it. Unfortunately I live in Australia so I can’t recommend a place for you to go but can say you should definitely do your research on the place you choose. I hope this is helpful x

I've been getting some of my tattoos lasered off for the past 9 months . Here’s what I can share!
It does hurt 10x worse coming off!
The sessions aren't long though so dealing with the pain is doable.
The wait time in between appointments is 8 weeks, so it does take some time for your tattoos to disappear, especially if your tattoo size is bigger.
Easiest ink to lift is black! Hardest is blue and white.
I've gone to LaserAway here in the states. Not sure if they have a location in London.
Another option is going into a tattoo artist that specializes in lightening tattoos or coverups.
When covering up an old, faded tattoo, you might end up with just one or two laser tattoo removal sessions , which is nice since laser tattoo removal can be a costly solution to getting rid of unwanted ink.

I love the gypsy one sad you are getting rid of her :( As far a laser tattoo removal. I have gotten it done and it takes a very long time to get this off. I had to wait 2 months in between each session to avoid scaring and I did not get any scaring. It is VERY expensive and it is VERY painful but you can endure it just make sure to ice instead of using the numbing cream...numbing cream takes way to long. Unfortunately I am a little darker than you and my tattoos didn’t completely come off after 10 sessions. But they did drastically fade. So I decided to get them covered up. It’s good that yours are not colored because black and white are easier for the laser to pick up. Good luck girl. Make sure to take a stress ball when you’re getting them lasered off!!! Much love ❤️

Hi Sam. Laser tattoo removal does hurt but it’s do-able. You’ll probably need between 6-12 sessions to get the tattoo to a point where it’s visibly reduced. Although laser is recommended every 6-8 weeks its actually better to leave it longer in between each session (around every 12 weeks) as sessions too close together can cause scar tissue damage on the skin, meaning you wouldn’t be able to have a cover up until that’s healed or it would be visible on the skin (shiny appearance).
Sk:n clinics offer tattoo removal however so many other independent clinics do also, so it’s best to just do your own research and go on recommendation. It’s not a long session either, would probably be done within about 10 minutes.
Just be sure before you have laser removal treatments as even though in a lot of cases the results are great my advice would be to wait longer in between each session so the skin can heal itself properly, so that may mean the process is longer but at least you’re not putting your skin at risk of scarring.
Hopefully you’ll be advised correctly by the practitioner that you choose. Hope that helps.
    Love from the midlands! X

Also I'm not sure if it's correct but I've heard that post-laser for darker tattoos lots of people have them covered up after just because sometimes the lasic treatment kind of marks the skin? Not sure if there's a way around that now though cause my friend had hers done a couple of years ago now. :)

I used to work in the tattoo removal industry and in London i would recommend going to Reset Room. They have the newest kind of laser wich takes less treatments. But first i will advice you to really think it trough because if you're not planning on covering it afterwards there will always be a 'ghost image' visible so you need to be okay with that. When you have started there is no way back!

I have over 40 tattoos and definitely feel your pain about regretting some of them! I’m not from London so I can’t give you recommendations on places to go but the pain of getting them removed is really painless in my experience. It’s the healing part that’s really difficult to deal with, the entire area swells up into a bubbled blister, my skin took 2 weeks to fully heal back to normal. In total it took 2 sessions to fully remove but for how dark yours are you would definitely need at least 4-5 sessions.

Girl! Best female tattoo artists in London would be Grace Neutral or Emily Malice at Femme Fatale. I got one for Emily and it was the best experience ever. x

I had mine removed on my chest (which is supposed to be a highly sensitive area) and frankly it doesn't hurt terribly. It's a stinging & snapping burn feeling. Perhaps 4.5/10 on a pain scale. I didnt use numbing cream but some people say that helps to a degree - maybe not all that much as the laser penetrates the surface. I went to Pulse Light Clinic in central and would recommend them! They have a good laser for black ink on all skin types including on tanned and melanin-rich skin tones. I'm black and had some heavily shaded ink and it disappeared so quickly on some areas and took more time on others but with no issues and results starting showing from the 1st session. Would recommend leaving more time between sessions and massaging the area as the laser keeps breaking down the ink in the body. That was my experience, but I suppose everyone can react differently! Good luck x

I just wanna tell you that your Lady tattoo is so cute! It was the first tattoo on your sleeve that I noticed and really liked. I also think it flows well with the sleeve because there is space between each tattoo, so I feel like it fits really nice, and it also fits nicely on your shoulder. :)

I have always adored your tattoos! I’ve recently started my own sleeve and was always inspired by the style and decided on the black and white designs because I have always loved how they look! You were my first look into the world of tattoos and I loved it, so thank you!

I only have two very small ones that I had gotten when I was very young and I CANNOT WAIT to get them off!! Now that I'm older I just DO NOT like tats anymore at all!! So glad we now have the option to get them removed!

I went with a friend to a laser consultation and the guy said that a lot of the time you can't completely get rid of a tattoo, especially when its quite dark. Something to consider if you weren't planning on fading them and then getting a cover up. x

I do like your tattoos, but also understand that you want to laser them when you're not happy with them yourself. I think that's the most important thing. I removed one myself, a bit smaller then the one you have. Took me 7 sessions with PicoWay laser in Oslo. I found the pain weird but bearable, but this also depends on the placement and depth of your tattoo. It was very quick sessions. Do be aware that everyone reacts differently, and also count in the added effects of having to cover it up/have a "wound" every 6 weeks. I highly recommend PicoWay, but even with top quality treatments I still have a faint scar (most likely from the tattoo itself, not the laser) and one grey dot that didn't want to go. None the less I am glad I made the decision to laser, and my mandala scar is now a part of me! Wish you all the best from Scandinavia

I can't recommend anywhere in London but if you fancy a drive to the south coast I can recommend 2 places. It does hurt to get laser but you can use numbing cream. The most important part in my opinion is aftercare, if you don't heal it well it can cause major scarring

the darker tattoos arent harder to remove!! black ink is the easiest colour for the laser to pick up, the paler your skin is the better too, and you cant expose lasered skin to any UV or direct sunlight so for those two reasons i’d recommend getting lasered in the winter time. the more time you leave between laser sessions the better! your skin needs plenty of time to heal afterwards and for your bloodstream to absorb the ink particles (you actually end up weeing them out which is the weirdest thing but its true!)

I'm a big late here but hope you see this - the place you're getting your laser hair removal around Tottenham Court Road has a really good powerful laser for tattoo removal. I had mine one done there and was very happy with results. Laser is more painful than the actual tattoo (at least it was for me) and also bear in mind that they mind not be totally erased - you can have some darkness or shade left, especially since your tattoos are quite dark and intense. Hope this is helpful!

I’ve heard that reset room is really good and they’re London based. I’m currently having my tattoo removed, I actually don’t think it’s that painful it stings and burns a bit feels more like hot fat hitting your skin. But it’s so quick the pain isn’t that bad. So maybe like a 3/4 on a scale to 1-10. When I get mine done they put the voltage up each time so recently has blistered but then it goes down quickly with myself anyway and they’re not painful. On part of my tattoo it was quite dark but I can defo see it’s lifting a lot now. I’ve have 3 sessions done so far. But you can’t tell how long it will take it just depends. I know Mary from anothergirlslife is having it done so maybe chat to her too! 😬😬😬😬 hope that helped!

I’m in the process of getting a small-4in tattoo lasered off my foot and it’s a big commitment. I’m very pale so it should only take 6 sessions. It’s extremely painful, I get a shot to numb the area. After it will swell and scab over so you’d be looking at going 1 x month for at least a year and keeping your arm out of the sun and under wraps. The skin afterwards will be a bit dull and not completely clean looking. I’d say think long and hard and perhaps see if you can add some white highlights to break up the darkness of the tattoo instead. Hope this helps! xo

OMG I totally agree with what you said about having to find a place and book in with an artist - I have a half sleeve (hand to elbow) and I really want to start on my other arm but I want to find a different artist (all my current tattoos are from the same dude) but the idea of having to find a new artist is so daunting. And I really want to get tattooed by a woman as well! The Glossier clear Boy Bow info was actually very helpful for me since I'd been thinking about trying it, my favorite clear brow gel is from Lancôme. Your lady on your shoulder is actually one of my favorites of yours 😂 but if you don't like it then you should definitely do what you want. I wonder how bad it does hurt to have it removed...I have my whole right elbow completely covered/filled in and get asked almost weekly if that one hurt and I noticed you have a lot around your elbow so I feel like if you can handle that then it wouldn't be too bad having it removed, right?? Loved this video and you're such a babe Sam!!

I understand that lasering off is a difficult process so have you considered maybe a blackout thing to cover up your upper arm? I personally love the minimalist touch it gives. just an option you can consider :)
