The worst thing about those bloody packages is that the more you cut into them, and the closer you are to liberating the product, the deadlier the sharp points of plastic get. In the end, you slice your hands to pieces.
@@Nedula007 Larry's comedy is based on him as a little bit of an idiot.Has nothing to do with being a "dramatic asshole".It's comedy for fuck sakes, getcher panties out the wedge.
probably the most dangerous scene Larry's ever filmed, being that careless with a knife. Also the butterknife at the beginning 1:02 using that amount of pressure with the knife toward his body instead of away from it... very dangerous
I remember buying a pair of scissors one time where there was a dotted line that you were supposed to cut with a pair of scissors to open the plastic enclosure.
There was probably other scissors made in the history of mankind besides what you just bought. They asumed somebody somewhere have one of these magic double knifes and can help you.
a butter knife and a screw driver are mush stronger than the cheap scissors i got at Staples, which are fine for cutting paper, which is what they're designed for. From bad experience, i learned to leave the scissors alone, the risks grow when scissors are involved.
The escalating music adds to the comedy of the clip... It's all something we can relate to as well. As another person commented, it's called "wrap rage" or "packaging rage."
yea this was certainly a highlight of the season for me. so well placed too, no dialogue before this scene, and they play that hilarious tuba (might be bassoon) theme music in the back. dear LD, you're brilliant.
1:01 and 1:37 the knife stabbing the package and Larry screaming at the same time made this scene more funnier😂😂 Edit: this ended up happening to me on 10/4/2022, used my hands, scissors, then finally a knife to get the package open which ended up getting destroyed. Even screamed like Larry trying to open it. What was inside of the package didn't get destroyed at least 😂😂😂😂
Yeah I had a similar problem when getting electronics out of their packages. Hilarious take for a common problem. Great show. Thank you Larry David for 24 great years of Curb!!
It gets almost scary when hes stabbing the knife wildly only inches from his other hand, then he misses the package and sparks fly from the counter. That shit was pretty dangerous considering its just a show. Love the Larry.
yeah, the counter top is made of granite or something metallic. because larry strikes with the knife, it glances off the package hits the counter and makes some sparks. hilarious scene. actually a little dangerous the way he's going with the knife but I love it
KITCHEN SHEARS, 9+ INCH BLADES, MICRO SERRATED EDGES: DESIGNATED FOR OPENING ALLLLL PACKAGING: NEVER FAILS -- U COULD CUT UR WAY OUT OFF PRISON WITH THESE !!
Does anyone know what season/episode it is that Larry says his quote about "only two kinds of people wear sunglasses indoors, the blind and assholes"? I have been look'n every where to find out what episode that is from.
Absolutely one of the best scene in whole series. Such a killer 😆 Larry David is total genius. His own show much better and funnier than Seinfeld. So sharp like a punch to the stomach. That’s the thing that missing in Seinfeld. With all the respect
You can always open tightly plastic packages by using a tin can opener and using the tracking wheel and razor along the edge of the package, quicker than using scissors and you always feel like a genius after you've done it:)
The guy who invented this type of ultrasonic plastic welding for packaging was a member of the Tribe by the name of Soloff. Once again, Larry is being done in by one of his own.
lol First World problems. Oh, I know, this must be so hard. "Oh no, my gift is hard to open... My wallet's too small for my fifties AND MY DIAMOND SHOES ARE TOO TIGHT."
I think that's from the pilot/HBO special one hour mockumentary thing with the stand-up in it. So either episode 1 or the episode before 1 if you see what I mean.
I just stab such packaging a few times with a knife and then return the product, and when asked if there was anything wrong with the product, I calmly tell them I lost a finger trying to open it and they stop asking any more questions.
The worst thing about those bloody packages is that the more you cut into them, and the closer you are to liberating the product, the deadlier the sharp points of plastic get. In the end, you slice your hands to pieces.
its like a damn trap from saw
😂😂😂 cuz a scissor just won't work. 😂 So true you'll still end up bleeding. Lmfao
@@Yoisthatabe true 😂😂
Or should you say, into bloody pieces
Why are your packages bloody?
Haha, when the music starts at 0:21 you know it's gonna be an epic journey.
j and when it speeds up lol
The first scream he lets out is probably one of the funniest things I've ever heard.
I watched it late in bed the other night. I was laughing so hard i had tears in my eyes & i woke the missus up!
My fave Larry scream is the scene when Suzie is in his broken car seat 😂😂😂😂 Has me dead everytime
I know right! Also at the start his look is so smug and civilized...that cracks me up as well 😂😂
Yes!!!
It’s so damn relatable
I feel like Larry david isn't even acting
You feel correctly
He's acting without acting
There's a pair of scissors in that drawer....Larry just being a dramatic asshole

1:28 he misses the plastic and hits the table with the knife. sparks
Michael Gilbert always eye notice that yo
Nice catch!
Had to have chipped the counter too.
Holy shit SPARKS fly off the counter! Was so damn nervous watching him with that knife. Hilarious though. :)

@@viksra it was a double lol not Larry.
@TheSportsGuru Camera angle changed, so was probably a double. The scenes with Larry himself were probably a stunt knife of some kind with no danger.
It's funny because we've all been there.
Yeah..that's true. I remembered when I bought something from sony..and it came like this.
It would have been funny if he went to get the exacto knife and it was in a similar packaging lol
Wilson Allender lmao. That definitely would have added to the humor in this. Nice add on!
Kids toys are the worst.
@North American RUclipsr some of this packaging is not easy to open, even with scissors. It's ridiculous.
I remember buying a pair of scissors one time where there was a dotted line that you were supposed to cut with a pair of scissors to open the plastic enclosure.
Ha! That's hilarious
Doesn't that happen at the end of this episode?

I have permanent scars on fingers trying to open those damn packages.
Larry David is a hero to society. He only points out the little annoyances in life.
As of this season he still was, everything since has been totally unrelatable
I like the little pause at 1:24 like LD’s thinking “now you’re getting it buddy”

It has happened to me too. Sometimes it is very hard to open one of these packages.
Use a kitchen knife! Cut the part off what hold the two side together! You did it.
One of the most relatable LD clips 😂
The sparking knife is the funnest part
This is one of my favorite scenes from the show. If anyone can watch this the first time and not laugh then they have no soul LOL.
This was a very stupid thing to say. :)
Possibly the most iconic Larry David moment
By far this is the best of the best reaction from Larry . I died LMAO

Boy, that's a nice granite top!
1:29 He makes a spark.
When you buy a scissor, it may have such packaging. You need scissors to open the scissors! It's madness.
No, it is not. It is logic. Scissors are sharp they have to packaging it, it is not their fault you don't have a scissor or a knife in your home.

I hate those packages
We all hate clamshell packaging even more so with the flatass ones you can't even rip open
Oh, no, that's really GOOD packaging.
I was laughing my ass off with the sparks hahahaha
That is from the very first episode of Curb. It isn't apart of any particular season, it was the one hour special before the show was ever on the air
Funniest thing is that this is actually how hard it is to open those packages, not even exaggerated.
I once bought a clamshell package opener. I don't know whether it works or not, because it's sealed in a clamshell package.
I LOVE him so much. Gawd, he makes me laugh so hard. he takes everyday ridiculousness and turns it into an art form. Priceless.
LOL! Imagine Larry David in a SAW spoof, wouldn't that be hillarious?
I bet that a have been quite a few trips to the emergency room over opening packaging!!

You would think someone with little sense would design something which is sturdy packaging but easy to open.
Why is the packaging so difficult. I've purchased some items which came with similar plastic packaging. Annoys the hell out of me.
Even funnier [not!] is that everyone is talking about eliminating plastics... for consumers [bags], but not for manufacturers.
