I know someone who golfed 18 holes with him once and he said Larry was EXACTLY as he is on Curb your enthusiasm. He had a problem with a button on his sweater and he went on and on about how button holes and buttons could be better constructed. LOL
This comment needs more attention
Jfc mood
It's so fantastic that they could easily do a hilarious episode of Seinfeld/ Curb over just a simple thing like the construction of a button 😅
You do know that Larry os a comedian right?...That's what they do...
@@alexscott730 DUH
Larry looks like he’s been 60 for the last 40 years
I am 43 and I don't remember him ever looking different than this.
john basedow he is stuck at 60 y/o look since ever!!
john basedow just like Bernie...
Lol! So true. And Colbert looked so young in that clip.
LMFAOO
Larry went from the oldest looking young guy I've ever seen to the youngest looking old guy.
That's the secret, get old all at once and then it will look like you never age
Him and Steve Martin
✨😄✨
@tedjohansen1634: What a great comment!
I love that Larry makes resolutions that are actually attainable
This guy has not broke his character for over 20 years
Tiny Rick make the character the real you and you never have to
He was born in character.
He hasn't broke character for 70 years.
That's because he's not "in character"
He breaks character for me every time I close my eyes and hear George Steinbrenner.
I love that whenever Larry David does something public it always just seems like you're watching a scene from Curb Your Enthusiasm.
I'm pretty sure that's because this IS a scene from Curb Your Enthusiasm.
Which is basically George Costanza.
He should change it from “COMEDY” to “AUTOBIOGRAPHICAL DOCUMENTARY”

@@PowerGlove79 LOL, yes.
“Happy New Year by the way.”

I got Happy New year'd in March once.
And here we keep going...
Larry is such an interesting person because he's always both cynical and curious/innocent about small things/niche scenarios in such a funny way
This is the most Larry David conversation that Larry David has ever had.
He should've talked about all the stuff he doesn't eat and why and it wouldve been even more perfect
I've seen better.
There are more Larry davidy conversations but its aaaaaa prettyyy, pretty good.
These Bernie Sanders Interviews are getting out of hand.
Now there are two of them!
You know that’s his real life distance cousin too. I might be late but I learned that a few months ago lol.
Please dont compare a socialist talentless hack politician to the legendary Larry David.
@@shane6450 dude, Larry literally plays him on snl...
@@shane6450 why u gotta do my man Bernie like that. Name someone better for the people, fucko
its hard to tell where Larry the character begins and Larry the person ends. I love them both
Larry is Larry.
Love the “How dare you...accuse me of not caring for the environment?”.
I met Larry two weeks ago! He was very kind and spoke to me for 10 minutes. An amazing experience!
He's totally freestyling it and yet it's better than a scripted comedy.
Vinoth Krishnamurthy sorry to spoil the illusion this is a totally prepared bit. It always is on these talk shows.
Andrew Gerrand I think he meant on “Curb...”. It’s almost all improvised.
I thought he meant the interview.
Well, I meant the interview. Those 10 minutes could have been filled with efficient content filled in-sync conversation about topics better than 'pee before going'. Though I agree we never know if it's scripted or not, I reckon LD doesn't need script.
Vinoth Krishnamurthy he doesn’t need a script, but it was clear that the resolutions bit was pre-planned. He was doing material there for sure.
I love that the house band is playing "Althea" by the grateful dead, when Larry walks out.
Yesss👏👏👏🔥🔥🔥💓💓💓✌️✌️✌️
yeah, why? lol
@@adamhowardschneider357 because it's a great song, my guy
Wondered if anyone else would comment on that, great song.
Fucking right. Honest to the point of recklessness, self centered to the extreme. Perfect and a funky take as well. Larry is a national treasure much like the GD...
Every Larry David interview is like an extra episode of Curb.
Colbert: Happy New Year
Larry: Come on!
LOL!
"We don't mean it...."
i
L-O-L Lar, L-O-L *cue Larry stare*
that’s what I keep saying at work
I feel the same way lol
His extreme pettiness is what makes him funny.
Norton Video Seinfeld is same
He wasn't petty, idiot. He was just energetic, in fact Colbert was as usual arrogant. You're just automatically projecting what you expect or what you know by clichés, even if the reality has nothing to do with it, or is the reverse.
@@bfkc111 Calm down, dude. Being petty is Larry David's calling card as his alter ego. LD was very obviously hamming it up as "Curb" Larry in the interview and Colbert was fully playing along. Your comment is so full of ironies, you might want to stop and take a breath before going all PC police on the OP.
The best part of watching CURB is saying to the screen, "G*d*mnit, Larry, let it go."
So let me get this straight: Larry David is 72 now and looks about 60, but at 40 he looked 60 🤔
The exact same thing with Bernie. One can see how they're related lol
Best part is, he has looked the same since he's 20.
LD looked like 60 fresh out the womb
The Macanaw peach
They probably played Althea because he’s “Honest to the point of recklessness, self centered to the extreme.” I love this man
You nailed it!
Wow, nice catch! Darth Vader would say... Impressive, most impressive! If he was a Dead fan.
At first I thought John Meyer had his late night band from 5 years ago that was playing Dead tunes at other people's shows.

“Happy New Year btw”
“Aah c’mon...”

That hair on the back of Larry's head is really hanging on.
Mostly guys when they bald
He’s hanging on to scraps
The remnants of a once great society
I heard he likes to stick his head out during fast car rides.
it’s been hanging on since 1989 lmao
"Pee before you leave" is the most Larry David thing I've ever heard in my life.
“Channel your inner Larry David,” is one of my daily mantras.
Mandy Clyburn That’s mine too. I love how he bucks convention when it comes to social obligations and all these unwritten rules that adults have to follow. It’s quite liberating to say “No, I’m not going to do that!”
yeah but you won't channel your outer Larry David and shave the top of your head, Mandy.
@@ibieiniid4240 lol
Did you see him do the Larry David Walk on his way to the chair? Kills me every time. I've practiced that walk for years. I've gotten pretty good at it. Prettay good.
Manders, you don't seem to resemble Larry David at all.
This is like an episode of Curb inside an episode of Curb. The awkwardness is on a whole other level here
Agreed, & I have to thank you so much for not saying whole "nother" level👏👏👏😂💓✌️
When you interview a walking sitcom.
Stephen totally messed up Larry's timing on the insertion joke
And the tip
He didn't seem to know how to handle Larry anyway.
Stephen needs to practice/improve his improv... His "yes and's" are very crinch 🤦🏻♂️
I'm not a fan of Colbert anyway, I don't think he's funny and he's a little too neurotic and prickly to be a calming interviewer, but combine that with Larry's by now quite tired shtick and Larry calling him a 'moron'...it's not a good match. Two huge egos butting metaphorical heads.
And the joke wasn't that funny. 'Insertion'. Because with the sex, and the thing where you do with the penis and then the doing it in the vagina sort of thing! High-level stuff.
Colbert fumbled a lot here. He started good then acted like he wasn’t on tv.
It’s pure genius how he intertwined the resolutions. “Bad at inserting” & “don’t poopoo the tip”😂
The audience was afraid to laugh at that last one
Oh good. So glad Someone else also said this because i was worried I was the only one with a dirty mind that went there!
@@dasikakn You can tell from the expression on Larry David's face he was going for the double entendre. He says almost everything with a straight face but he breaks a bit there.
Less guilty with my porn hub views 😂
Larry David...Im bad at inserting.
Colbert....On an unrelated note, how many children do you have?
.......Now that's an interview!!
The Interview was Pretty Pretty Pretty good..
😆😆good one
Really? Really...? Okay.
you can tell that hes just really observent and relatable with everything. every minor thing is a comedic bit for him. he doesn't need to go on tirades about cancel culture to be funny.
I love the idea of him and Jerry Seinfeld just walking around griping about things they notice
And when it touches a topic that's too topical (ie caring about the environment) he immediately avoids the easy jokes and does a callback to the beginning of the show instead.
Always been the best at subverting expectations
LD is truly one of a kind!! And let’s recognize Stephen’s curb appearance. It’s freakin perfect!
As a server, I don’t mind the wave. Don’t snap or whistle! I’m a human being, not your dog!
Lance Carrauthers omg I will wait for thirty minutes before I do either, quietly seething the whole time. I still leave a tip too.
@@lynnstlaurent6789 same lmao I feel bad to call for people's attention

I like nodding. And also making mimes like signing the credit card/receipt. 😁 Waiters don't seem to resent it.
Serious question: could you be tipped heavily to abandon your dignity and swap tables with another server if a snapper/ whistler came into your place again and specifically wanted you as a server?
Words cannot describe how much I love this man. All hail Larry David!
I feel the same!
larry david has the incredible talent to turn every angry conversation into a lovely argument.
This is the most entertaining interview ever.
As a mom, I ensure everyone pees before we leave.
While we're wrapping up I would let my mother in law know we were going soon and ask if she needed to powder her nose before we left

@Mr. Scoot Scooter aww!! U stole my comment!
"I've never been great at inserting - always need a little help". Brilliant.
That's what she said!!!
Colbert and David have awkward energy towards each other for sure.
Donny they’re probably beefin
They create an interesting dynamic, with Colbert aiming for polished gallantry and David with his trademarked social existentialism.
stephen has a hard time with comedians, its always awkward i dont know why, he doesnt respond to the jokes, maybe to him its out of respect but it makes it seem like he is exposing the interviewee and leaving it hanging, mindy kaling could get around it by turning the joke on colbert which makes it entertaining, but not everybody has that impulse
but thats what makes it funny
@@jeanbutinfrench Yeah it seems like he does his best to not let the comedians shine in his show. Good example was Bill Burr. That is why Conan is the best late night host.
I keep coming back to this. The way he sets up the pee before leave joke and then ends with it in part two makes this whole piece genius
Of course Larry cares for the environment, he's prolly led to more Prius sales than anyone.
what about the camry? it's a fucking' work of art! (sorry! it's one of my favorite scenes from the series).
He also respects wood.
Yeah, but buying a Prius is just pretense, it's actually rather bad for the environment if you consider the whole chain of emissions. It's good for Toyota, that's for sure.
I love that Larry makes resolutions that are actually attainable
@@akaemzett that's a myth perpetuated by oil campanies, every independent research study has shown that the total lifetime emissions (including manufacturing and recycling at end-of-life) for hybrid/EV cars are far less than traditional ICE cars

This is one of the best interviews ever. Just because Larry David is Larry David. You can't go wrong with him.

My father's best advice: "If you think you have to pee as you are leaving the house; you do."
When I was a kid and if me or my brothers told dad we had to pee while traveling in the station wagon... he would always say, " I still have a half a tank of gas, guess you will just have to wait"

Amazing how Larry can just derail and take control of any social situation.

I take it you mean spontaneous, rather than simultaneous.
@@frolickinglions A poor choice of word from me, thank you! :D
So glad that Bernie has another season on HBO
I love LD and I'm never miffed by thew fact he makes us wait years for each Curb season😂
This is the most comfortable uncomfortable interview I’ve seen in my life :D
This was 10 minutes of pure joy! Haven’t smiled so hard in a while
I never realized how Larry David is the living embodiment of every Bernie Sanders impersonation ever.
MAKE TWO TRIPS!! 😂😂😂
Every second of larry's presence anywhere is just gold man!!!!
I couldn't tell if they were really arguing or having fun, or may be both. 🙂
They're very different comedians, BUT both being genius improvisational actors, if they wanted they could adapt to each other's styles like light switches, and it would be funny and purely pleasant to us, but boring for them. So they're having fun challenging each other and it looks awkward to us. Like a couple of ballet dancers going to a hip hop club.
It's a bit. Guess you've never bothered to watch Curb Your Enthusiasm.
I definitely thought they were having fun.
@@audreymuzingo933 Genius? That word gets thrown around so easily. What was so "genius" about Colbert in this interview?

Go before you go. Words to live by.
Larry David!! Always a handful. Love him so much.
No comments about Stephen's acting? He was awesome :D
Giving off some Jim Carrey energies there
Better than Larry! He's funny but the show hard to watch because he really can't act.
Such a perfect fit..they should bring him back and have neither realise they've met before until some extremely awkward moment ;)

Larry David never, ever fails to make me laugh. He's a real treasure and I think one of the truly great comic minds. He's right up there with folks like Jonathan Winters, The Smothers Brothers, Seinfeld, Robin Williams, Chaplin, Keaton, Fanny Brice et.al.
the happy new year bit is straight out of curb and i love it
Love how Larry at the start just gave a “shit bow” .
he hasn't aged a day since his appearence on Seinfeld. This man is ageless
Looking 70 all his life is finally starting to pay dividends.

Colbert seems offended that Larry thought he waited in a coffee shop😂
Cuz Colbert can't take a joke. Too sensitive.
Stephen making Larry laugh with "bus depot?" was great
@karl wa Larry can laugh at himself. Colbert can't. That's the difference.
Stephen trying to get him to promote the new season 😄
LD being on the show is enough promotion
Please project that 'You will FAIL!!' scene onto the whitehouse. Every night, images fifty feet high.
Why?
Larry just speaks everything he thinks lol. I also wonder if the chairs are comfortable because you've seen them on tv lol
the band playing Althea at the beginning! Jammin'!
Larry looks so happy. I wonder who died?
dielaughing73 😭Terrible
Funkman ?
Yeah no shit
I’m just glad this wasn’t on Fallon’s show. The fake laughs would’ve ruined everything... per usual.
Justin Sullivan Sometimes Colbert is kind of a dick to his guests. And I don’t mean in a self aware way-sort of in a petty “I’m smarter than you,” or one-ups-manship sort of way. Hate to say it, because I think Colbert is great. Idk, maybe he sort of hates life doing this kind performing, or maybe he’s just getting old and ornery. :/
Justin Sullivan Would have been great if Larry would have called Fallon out
what do you think about conan?
Stephen is good, but nowhere near as good a host as Graham Norton. And, of course, Craig Ferguson. No US host comes close to either of those.
@@gentlemanjim480 with all due respect to the great Graham Norton, Craig beats them all by far. Hell even Conan, and Conan is my favorite US host. Yknow why Craig is on a whole other level? Cuz he’s a vortex of Scottish charm. The man made a Doctor Who cold opening. Craig is king.
