This was soooo good! Love the Vegas challenges and love to see you guys do things blind, really levels things and makes you humble when you take "knowing what you are drinking" out of the equation. There should definitely be a Curiosity Public weekend get together "Vegas style" in the future!

Just got back from Vegas. Here to report that mgm properties Excalibur, luxor, new york new york only serve Jim Beam as the complimentary bourbon. Pretty smooth for the cheap stuff.

WT 101 is the bottom shelf God king IMO and Dillion knows it. He was only going to pick his own bottle 😄

Lol I’ve done a bourbon hunt in downtown vegas before, found that same liquor store Dutch bought from. There was a huge gift shop nearby that had lots of bottles but all they had was overpriced Smoke Wagon. The casino gift shops may have some overlooked bottles, I haven’t searched those yet.

I had mentioned wanting to see a Fremont street version of this challenge on the other vid, awesome to see that you guys did it! You could do this with every spirit and I’d watch them all. Watching Dillon scamper off at the beginning while Dutch and Jules are coordinating time is absolutely classic by now 😆

Awesome video. Like your take on WT & KNOB CREEK being similar. In my opinion, WT seems a little spicier with a cherry bubble gum cola. KNOB CREEK has more of a regular cola.
I’m surprised that EW won, but I’m not surprised that WT101 and KC 9yr small batch were similar in taste profile. I say the later because when I blind Rare Breed and KC 9 yr single barrel, it is often a toss up on which is which AND the winner will usually depend on what I’m liking that night. RB is my favorite for the price ($50 vs $60… those prices are local to NC) and for the sweetness. But they both usually have a nutty and fruity flavor.
When scoring, maybe you should get some extra points if you correctly guess one or more of the brands that the others bought?

Damn. I paid $25 for a KC9 a few months ago. Everyone else seems to be paying way more for it for some reason.

Some Russell's Reserve store picks are as good as some 2020 ECBP batches. I am parital to C918, c919and B520, C920 as my all time faves. *never had the old pirate bottles.

Yeah buuuuut if the bottles had 82 weeks to open up and were served out of long stem glassware and enjoyed on a Siberian brown bear rug next to a roaring fire (organic non-gmo split Sequoia, of course) Dillon would have won.
LOL your luck Dutch!! But get this, I was curious[Curiosity Public] so I found the place on Google Maps, on the street view you can see the same "will return" sign up.
Who’s the camera person.
Now I’m curious if one of the delivery services, like drizzly, would have been an option. Now, I think that might be cheating or at least not in the spirit of the challenge but what bottles might have been available within that price range. Otherwise, great challenge!
You cannot get spirits delivered/shipped in Nevada anymore since 2020
If you would have individually ranked them 1, 2, and 3 and then taken the average score of the three blue would have been in last place and the tiebreaker would have been between yellow and orange. Two out of the three of the guys placed blue last so the fact that it "won" just seems off to me. Based on the tie-breaker reaction to yellow (WildTurkey) and orange (Knob Creek) he would have picked Knob Creek in that two-way head to head. My takeaway was that WT101 and Knob Creek took this and the real match was between them. Plus Jules knew his was a weaker proof and he didn't go for his favorite but rather which one he thought was his. Either way, looked like a ton of fun and I own and enjoy all three of those bourbons.
Scoring system is totally busted. If I came back in 5 minutes with a $10 bottle of bourbon, I would make 55 (minutes) + 40 (dollars left) = 95 points and blow your scores out of the water with shitty whiskey
