    Love the turbo dork paints. I did my necrons with it. You get some nice fast highlights if you drybrush a silver color over the black primer before you airbrush it on.

      So using the silver as a zenathol? I bet the Necrons would look amazing. Maybe use these paints for "heat treated" metal?

    Turbo Dork paints are legitimately some of my favorite paints on the market. They're so stunning and do so much that other paints don't. They aren't paints that you replace anything in your paint library with, instead, they're these cool experimental creations that give you whole new ideas for your work. They especially have some of the best metallic greens and pinks/purples in the industry.

    I've found with Turbo Dork that an interesting way to do shadows is to go ahead and paint the main body just like what was shown in this video. Then use an ordinary wash like Nuln Oil as normal to do the shadows. Then drybrush the exact same color of Turbo Dork back over the colored section to bring back the richness and sparkle of the raised areas. Turbo Dork is getting ready to add washes to their line designed to provide shadows to their paint schemes without losing any of the effects the paints are so fantastic at.

    Been trying to figure out a scheme for a Dropfleet/Dropzone PHR battle group. A lot of their design language has some nice smooth geometry and considered a pearlescent finish on those surfaces. This pretty well decided it for me, now to just nail down a color group. 😅

    Turbo Dork might be the best way to ruin your hobby. They are soooo thin. It's like water with a bit of glitter sprinkled into it. When they say 3-5 coats they mean about 7. It's impossible to brush on evenly. Might (possibly) be useful if you're airbrushing, but if you paint strictly by brush it's just an awful experience. My 2 pennies. (which is also the color I tried. ) Edit: I forgot to add that though I didn't think it was possible, these have a container that's actually WORSE than Citadel, which I didn't think was even possible.

    • @MediocreHobbies
      @MediocreHobbies  Год назад

      There’s lots of paints that don’t work well with brushing, and are better suited for airbrushing, as I showed when I used this paint in the video! I think the effects these paints are a cool addition to certain models/projects but totally understand if you don’t like them! Cheers for the comment!
