@@pharmapsychotic I have to come clean. I was trying to cut out time in the video and edited out the 30seconds of me turtle modeing and wriggling my way out. Both times I made it out surprisingly but yah ... Haha maybe I'll post a short of just the gutter landings
Hey Shawny! What do you do for cooling your Walksnail VTX? My one on Moblite7 kills the range to flying around myself as soon as the temperature reaches 75 degrees Celsius after about 45 seconds of flight. My video link is at 350 mW 720p standard bitrate. Feels like if there was a problem with antenna. But I tried different antennas including Foxeer Lollipop 4 Plus, it doesn’t help. UFL antenna connector snaps tight. I run stock Betaflight 4.4.2 firmware with factory dump Walksnail firmware 38.43.4 on both Avatar goggles and the VTX. VTX: Avatar mini 1s VTX V2.0 I feel confident with all settings, I’ve also se swapped the frame several times. All wires seem to be fine. Btw as I start flying the voltage drops to 3.8 volts almost instantaneously. 550 mAh GNB batteries aren’t fresh. I have about 2 minutes of flight time with them. I think current draws are ok: Binded to rc controller: 0.9 A Armed: 1.5 A Bound with Goggles: 1.7-1.8 A Armed with Goggles: 2.3-2.4 A Hovering: 8 A Goggles debug info shows very low VTX SNR at 25 mW, also drops significantly at 350 mW. But I think if it was just noisy rf environment VTX wouldn’t heat so fast. There is no heat sink on the chip although there was some thermal paste on it that I wiped off. Now I think maybe it could have been cooling it a little 🤔
@@olegeau I don't do anything at all haha. Just fly fast 😜. I mount it with the chip downward that had the heat sink (i removed it) between FC and walksnail. I haven’t tried it the other way cuz Tokyo Dom said it worked better that way. I only run mine at 25mw or 100mw. I don’t max it out and i don’t think i’ve ever changed the setting on one of them. If i sit before arming or crash it i’ll get up around 115C before taking off again, but it seems fine
@@Shauny_D Thanks for your reply Shawny 😊 I’ll keep searching what’s wrong with mine. Flying fast cools the VTX down till about 70-75 degrees Celsius minimum but still it’s within the range where video signal breaks up. So you’ve never experienced video link problems after recovering overheated, right?
@@olegeau i haven’t yet. I checked for you and am on 25mw only so i’m sure recovery is faster. try lower output and see. Higher isn’t always better especially with small antennas and indoor or multi pathing. I’m so used to redpine analog whoops where 100ft range is normal. But yah i’ll still get 300 yards or so out of 25mw

@@clydedonjon1464 For the 75pro frame and 20000kv 0802s yes it is way to much for 1s. But the regular 75mm with 25000kv is only 28grams and RIPPS! I actually run that build with throttle scaled to 90%

@@RestingQuadFace yah! That's fun to hear I hope folks enjoy watching as much as I enjoy the flying and crashing
