The action you performed at 00:30 was abduction not extension, at 2:15 you actually are pulling the thumb in extension, this is good for a UCL sprain. Hypertension is the RCL. Good tape job, incorrect usage.
This doesnt work. The anchors easily come undone on the front and back of your hand, leaving your thumb completely unprotected. Just save your tape, and get a cheapo spica thumb splint. 100x more effective.

The white tape is Sports tape. CVS has it.
