I saw so many videos of guys taking off everything. I tried it your way and had no issues putting on my fox 2.0 coilovers. Each side took less than 30 mins!!!
i LOVE THIS. Thank you for the detailed lift...I just purchased the 3/2 lift myself and was needing to find something with the alignment placement. This was awesome...thank you again.
Just got my 2020 ORP (non-KDSS) back from dealership yesterday. Went with their recommendation as Toyota Warranty is very, very particular about changes, because I have the Southeastern Dealer Limited Lifetime Engine and Drive Train coverage. Did a 3/2 ReadyLift kit and BFG K02 285/70/R17 upgrade. Came w/stock TRD Pro rims so did not option aftermarket rims with offset. Have not been on the trail YET.....but have been jumping a few speed humps in the neighborhood (and crawled a couple of ditches) to exercise the travel and make sure. Yep it is tight (maxed out tight), however NO rubbing NO trimming what so ever and the Warranty Department gave blessings. Oh, and replaced the spare with same, YES it does fit in the tire well. Any bigger you are probably going to have to go with the external carrier rack. Thanks for the video and helpful info! Happy Trails!
Thanks for the video! Your trick up front removing and installing the struts will be helping me in my cornfed spacer install. I see others removing swaybars and everything in between. But your method looks so much easier!
Extremely well done. Thank you. It was a great explanation of how and why. I'm ready to install the 5100's and rear coils on my 4runner. This video was a professional how to. Thanks 👍
Thank you. Very informative and the smartest approach I have seen. I will be attempting this using this vid over the weekend. Im in Pa. and could use the help if your looking for a road trip. LOL.
I installed this lift on 4runner. FYI rear makes loud noise on big bumps due to the stock bushing being between spring and spacer and not directly Above spring. Gonna remove it. Front is stiff, rough on bumps. Gonna remove also. Recommend getting lift shocks and springs instead of spacer lifts 🤷♂️
I see where you adjusted them. The kit has the diff drop and the shop said to leave them where they were and should be fine. I appreciate your input though and I am only driving it like 15 miles before the alignment is done.
I like how you loosen the control arm and let it drop without touching the tie rod when removing the shock. I’ve seen other videos where they make it so difficult.
This may seem weird, but the “diff drop” was just longer bolts with a spacer on the head of the bolt. Didn’t seem to drop the diff at all but just lowered the bracket for the skid plate? Did I see that right?! When I lifted my F250 8” it had a diff drop spacer which went ABOVE the diff so it lowered the entire diff. Didn’t seem to do that with the ready lift. Appreciate it.
The spacers drop the front of the differential, not the rear. This is to help with Pinion angl. It tilts the differential. The small spacers are to lower the skid plate so it will not hit on differential mounts after tilting.
What about the Panhard Rod? The geometry in the suspension has been changed and left uncorrected. The vehicle is going to experience instability and bump-steer due to the rear axle traveling side-to-side because the lift has moved it out of normal position. The Panhard rod needs to be realigned to a more horizontal plane by raising it the approximate same distance at its attachment to the axle, as the lift kit raised the vehicle. There is a kit with the appropriate bracket and hardware to accomplish this. You can watch a video of this installation at ruclips.net/video/-W5TfPnEBTM/видео.html.
@ dr kdss bolt on or weld on lifts the panhard up and makes it level again. I don’t know that’s what everyone seems to do. I did it to mine but never drove out of alignment so not sure the difference
Hi, Cornfed Suspension thanks for your video. One of the easiest process in youtube. How is the ride with the spacers? Is the front a little bit lower than the back? Im wondering with the passenger at the back.
It rids similar to stock, maybe slightly rougher in the rear. This lift gets it pretty close to level front and rear. I'm also glad the video was helpful.
@@shoptimewithdrew I was thinking that ran across a 3” front 2” rear leveling / lift kit a few months ago. I bought a new 23 limited. Being it’s brand I’d rather keep it. Not to mention I’d think deleting it would most likely hit those pockets. I’m just the occasional mild off roader going hunting. And I’m wanting some rims with a slightly deeper dish. Something that fills out the wheel wells better and has a little wider stance.
The 3-2 is for the normal struts. If I were you, I would go with bilstein shocks and get rid of the x-reas setup. Or just wait till the struts start to leak, then replace them with bilstein's.
Is there enough clearance to pull the shock down if you use jack stands? This seems way easier then other methods. Are there any other steps when changing to 3 inch coils overs? Thanks for the video.
If you use heavy-duty truck jack stands, you should be able to get the shocks out. Probably won't work with the small car jack stands. The 3in coil overs should be able to come out th same way.
i just did this exact process to put a 2.5" spacer on my front struts.. but for some reason my lower control arms werent dropping like yours.. they were like springy and wouldnt drop.. any idea why?? anyway i got it all done and put back together just fine just weird that they wouldnt drop like yours

The long bolts are to angle your front differental to prevent pre mature ware of the gears. For the abs light it could be many things. First make sure everything is plugged in. Has it been aligned yet could need a zero point calibration after alignment. Next you would probably need a code to find out what direction to go. Most Toyota's will charge 1hr diag and may fix it in the 1hr. Cost could be $100 to $200 per hr depending on your location. You could also check at your local auto parts store and see if they have a scanner you can use to get the codes. Best of luck!
@@shoptimewithdrew i tried autozone. Their scanners didnt detect any error codes. Took it to a mechanic’s n he couldnt figure it out either. I huess Toyota dealership is the only thing left. I did do alignment. Couldnt get it perfect. Do I need the long bolts then?
You don't need the long bolts but if you can get them I would put them in. Ya you will probably have to take it to toyota my guess is it needs a zero point calibration. If you run it through a dealer and they do lift, wheels, tires, alignment and calibrations it can run up to 5k. But just to have the lift, alignment and calibrations it would be around 2k.
When the alignment is done, the caster will be in the red. Any time you lift something, it will lose its caster angle. The best way to compensate is to install aftermarket upper control arms.
