Lee Aaron (born Karen Lynn Greening, July 21, 1962) is a Canadian rock singer. She had several hits in the 1980s and early 1990s such as "Metal Queen", "Whatcha Do to My Body", and "Sex with Love"

I never heard it in Australia. This is the first time for me.
Lee Aaron had a relatively large fan base in Germany throughout the 1980s. But she was more popular with the metal crowd in her beginnings until 86/87. Like so many she started fading away when her sound became so wimpy US-style "Hair Metal". Real metal fans just didn't buy into all that hair and glam metal crap. Europeans always were much more into the harder stuff mainly coming from the N.W.O.B.H.M. in Great Britain, like Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Motörhead, Saxon etc.
An awesome and beautiful singer. She does CANADA 🇨🇦 very proud.

Just saw her perform last night in her hometown of White Rock, and man it was like no time had passed from when I discovered her music in the 80s working at Stardust Roller Rink! She is still freaking BADASS and I even made her a bracelet that said that and she took a pic with me and gave me a shout out for it! Major fangirl moment for me! The last time I saw her live was in the 90s at the Ozone Nightclub with my late husband. Reminded me of better days for sure, and that girls can rock hard too! ❤

@@jamesgaines6676 It was probably down to her record label, but yes I only found her music through youtube around 2004 and couldn't understand why she was not more well known. I just love so many songs from different albums including the non-rock ones.

She's just one on a list of several who never got radio play on U.S. radio at least we found them.
Absolutely gorgeous woman and a FANTASTIC voice. Whenever she hits a sustain (you know the ones I mean) it just gives you chills. And she's got a hell of a growl to go with it (especially in Barely Holdin' On).

I actually met her just before they did this video... Her husband at the time was giving guitar lessons... I went for the lesson, and Lee Aaron opened the door wearing a towel having just gotten out of the shower. I was shocked and asked is Greg giving guitar lessons here? She said, yeah, C'mon in. Greg is the guitarist playing the pink Kramer guitar in the video.

Back when rock and metal music was just bands with people in it trying to make music to entertain anyone and everyone who can feel it. We didn't listen to "male fronted / female fronted" or "all male / all female" bands back then. We either listened to good , or great f-🎸-ing music and that was all we needed!
This was formula pop metal with a stripper up front who didn't take her clothes off.
I wanna see the alternate universe where Lee Aaron was as big as Madonna.
If there is a multiverse, i'm sure there is at least one universe where she made it big in America and took over radio stations across the world soon after. I never really took to Madonna that much, a few good songs but not much that went beyond background music for me.

The only reason I knew anything about Lee Aaron was through KERRANG magazine, which was published in England. My local record store in the USA stocked the magazine in their import section.
I never saw one single video of hers on American TV. Not one. Not even this one. Everything says she should have been popular, but I'd say that wasn't her fault that she wasn't more well known. Especially with Pat Benatar at this stage being a bit more "pop."
