Even It Up is Lee Aaron's tribute to one of her great rock 'n' roll influences, Ann & Nancy Wilson and their legendary band Heart, from her upcoming album Tattoo Me, which consists entirely of cover songs. Taking a nostalgic journey, Tattoo Me pays homage to musical trailblazers who helped shape her own artistic path. As a reflection of her eclectic taste, yet in keeping with a profound respect for the greats, these 11 dynamic tracks are a unique tapestry of influences that transcend era and genre.

When I was on the road in bar bands in the seventies and early eighties I crossed paths with Lee Aaron, always a serious professional. A friend of mine saw her sitting in a park one afternoon, doing a drawing.
I had the privilege of doing security for Lee Aaron during the whacha do to my body tour. She’s the real deal and was a super nice person.

Lee Aaron has been going almost as long as me! She's one of those artists who has just got on with the business of being a performer without kicking up much dust, with enough of a fanbase to keep her on the road. So this very straight competent cover of the Heart classic doesn't tell us a lot, but as a standalone number it's an enjoyable enough filler for the Classic Rock playlist. The best thing about it for me was that it alerted me to the fact the original was missing from my collection so I'm now off to correct that immediately. My Score: Good 3*
