- My first few tries using Unearthly Cosmetics last year were hit or miss, will this new limited edition collection from Unearthly Cosmetics finally win me over?

This must be the year of bold lips after the whole “clean girl” aesthetic. I’m so for it! I bought so many brown toned lipsticks and while it looks jarring on my face, I’m determined to find one that works that isn’t just a nude 😅

Really love how the eyes turned out! My eyes couldn't be more different than yours, but I still love to watch you for inspiration. Actually, that's a lie! We both have brown eyes and dry eyelids. But still... Also, I think that indie brands are hard hit by inflation since they are further down the line from suppliers. Like most indie brands are on the same level as their consumers as opposed to even mid-tier brands that can still buy the same ingredients at the same prices as the big brands.
That's a fair point, things do get cheaper when the bulk amount you buy goes up. Alas, we live in a society™ 🫠
I do not know why I hadn't found you sooner, but I am so glad I did. I just happened across your videos in looking up Unearthly reviews but had to kind of go down a rabbit hole to get here. You approach to doing makeup, and how you review it, is so incredibly refreshing!
ETA: You are absolutely stunning!!! 💜 I do have one small critque, and you can take it with a grain of salt... Be a little bit more gentle with yourself. We are all our own worst critic, but you are clearly very talented and a natural artist. And I really hope you come to realize how absolutely beautful you are, and that your features make you more so, not less. And please please do not feel like you ever have to change yourself to fit in with ridiculous societal beauty standards, because you have a timeless beauty that very few have. Plus those standards change faster than a teenager trying to figure out an outfit for their first date, lol. I encourage you to spend some time REALLY looking at yourself in the mirror until you truly love who you see staring back at you, inside and out.
When I was in my mid 20s, someone said something that changed my life and such profound ways and how I think about myself to this day. They said, "You are a really beautiful person, so why are so damn insecure??"... I had just met them a half hour before, and told them absolutely nothing about me. But they were right, and I was so disappointed in myself for it to get so bad that someone I did not know at all could figure that out so quickly. They then said, "I want you to wake up every morning and smile at yourself in the mirror, until you truly believe that you are the beautiful that you are". At first I though it was kind ridiculous and silly, so I just kind of laughed at the suggestion. But that next morning, I tried to do it and it instantly brought me to tears because I realized a hadn't REALLY looked at myself in the mirror for a very long time... Despite doing my makeup every single day. And I didn't really like who was looking back at me. So I vowed that my only priority in life was to change that. And slowly but surely it worked. I started truly prioritizing myself and my wants, needs, hopes, and dreams for the first time in my life. And as a result it was really lonely at first, because that meant getting rid of all the toxic people in my life, and no longer doing things that weren't good for me that I used as a distraction from all my pain, abandonment issues, and insecurities. But it was so freaking worth it! I grew to value, respect, and love myself which then attracted people into my life who truly value, respect, and love me too. And now I have a very close circle of very awesome people that support me in ways I didn't ever think would be possible. One of which my absolutely amazing life partner, and we just celebrated 10 years together last December. And I was finally able to smile at myseld in the mirror, lol. I never saw that person again, but I owe them so much!
I don't share that story very often, especially with strangers, because it is kind of cheesy and a little too in the feels, lol. And I definitely did not intend for this to be a freaking novel when I started writing this comment. But something told me you may need to hear it. And feel free to delete it if it feels a little to personal to leave public. It is only really meant for you anyway.
You are so kind, thank you for sharing your story with me. Honestly I used to be even more harsh on myself, this is already progress 😆 but unlearning the ingrained Chinese culture of overachievement and perfection will probably be a lifelong process. As an aside I also have some things I really need to do to address my gender dysphoria that if I can get it done I know will help, but my health currently is not in any condition for surgery yet.
I really appreciate you taking the time to be so kind and uplifting, reading your comment made me smile. I need to remember that I enjoy makeup because I enjoy the process and find it therapeutic and relaxing, so even if the final result doesn't turn out how I envisioned, I still was doing something I liked

I’ve never used Unearthly products but I totally agree with your observation on indie matte formula in general. They tend to not stick/build very well unless I use tacky, thicker eye base. I do appreciate blendable formula though!

As someone who lives in Jacksonville NC.. I feel your pain about the humidity. It's been raining AGAIN here and we're completely flooded. 🙄 Looks like we're in for it this summer 😂 but the look was beautiful and it I'm glad I'm not the only one annoyed with NC and it's bipolar nonsense.❤

@@foxwaffles Its sooo pretty. I really love it. I will say tho for the liquid blush I recommend working on an unset base, Iv found that, plus working off the back of my hand, to personally work the best.

I was craving the TF Iconjc Smoke look and this palette had great colors to dupe it hehe.
Did you get any of Chanel’s spring release? I could see the highlighter etc being stunning for your complexion. I wish I could say the same for myself 😂. I sooo regret not getting their mauve blush release last Fall but am happy I got the Winter mauve & orange ones. x
I will be passing on the spring collection, my makeup budget is tight this month and to be honest the price creep of indie brands overall leaves a sour taste in my mouth 😕
If you're talking about that chanel mermaid collection, I did get the blush and then my sister gifted me the highlighter. I really wanted the blue quad but don't have the budget for it and then it sold out haha.

Unearthly’s summer palette release will be more affordable she said. I’m mostly just considering the blushes but btw Chanel and my RMS I have some great glowy ones already 😅

It'll be doe lashes fuccboi repellant! One of my favorites. They may have sold out during their lash day sale but if they did it'll be back soon
