all I'd want is modern graphics, I want every part of this script and atmosphere to remain EXACTLY as it is, I still get shivers hearing Reznov talk about taking revenge against Gen. Amsel, the voice acting was awesome for this game, ESPECIALLY on the Soviet side of the campaign, US side has its moments but the raw visceral nature of the Soviet side of the game just draws you in, I love the dark war story that the soviet side gave us, a brutal triumph over an enemy that at first appeared unstoppable paid for with the lives of millions of civilians and soldiers alike, this game rocks.
Something changed around 2013 ish it seems. Far cry 2 was like this too sorta more dirty, grimy and didn’t make you feel like the guy who blew in from stupid town to save the day.
I think it's a multitude of factors. The "dark, grey and brown shooter" genre started getting extremely oversaturated, and as time went on companies believed people cared more about the multiplayer than the campaign (see: the rise of Battle Royale, Black Ops 4, EA's statements about single player games, etc). Campaigns went from being a selling point to a sideshow, and as such probably had their budgets/scopes slashed in favor of a more robust multiplayer experience. After all, players will keep buying loot boxes, skins, and map packs for multiplayer, but the campaign will only ever sell a game once. That's just my speculation, though. Likewise, it seems as though the recent trend in Western writing has been to create an on-the-nose plot that doesn't make the viewer too "uncomfortable," and focuses more on preaching principles rather than telling an engaging story. These writing goals tend to conflict with telling a more historically-focused plot (or, in CoD's case, historically dramatized), as history is often times ugly and uncomfortable. That's just my two cents, though.
@@Krackalackamore it’s just idk after modern warfare 2 or like Halo Reach I feel like every game is sort of just like eh ignore the campaign because the characters are boring and the atmosphere is whatever. Its not that he can't hold a rifle, he just can't aim accurate because he is missing his index finger, making it very hard to aim steady, for a submachine gun, you don't have to aim super steady, because even if you did, the bullets will still be on rapid making your shot less accurate anyway, so that is why he changed to a submachine gun
After the recent MrDalekJD video (and reading the comments), I think it's fair to say this is: a) Gordon Krovi b) He will be. I'm hoping for Gary Oldman.

@H H for sure, though to be honest I think black ops 2 especially is fine as is, I think it still looks awesome
Yep and they 100% need to add more gore death animations and many many more stuff
Might just have to do it ourselves, just the eastern front missions and the flamethrower and plane gunner missions in pacific, and zombies ofc

What is that supposed to mean, kinda rude dude
This game has the best Soviet campaign missions ever
The fact that if resnovs hand was fine, demetri whould have most likely died, because he would've moved and he would be shot
Logic: Reznov's "injured hand" can't hold a rifle, but his "injured hand" can hold a machine gun
