Love the fact you're back on the Datsun. Most challenging is that one bolt that needs 16 extensions, universal joints, and the 10mm socket you lost last week.
I'm going to 2.3 turbo swap my Ford Ranger. ...and by that I mean I've had a thunderbird engine in my garage for 10 years.
I have an 88 Thunderbird turbo coupe but the heads cracked and the head gasket went so it needs fixed before I can drive it again
Chris Cole damn, what motor ?
@@lowslo9287 The only Thunder coupes I know of are 2.3L turbo
You guys should put a train horn on the Datsun!
Haha... Everyone the train horn blows, just reply back. 😂
Hardest part is always paying for all the nice shiny parts I want
Hardest part is after everything goes together perfectly, figuring out why it doesn't freaking work!
Love the 2.3 turbo. They love boost, make great power.
Most challenging to me is all the parts you need that you won't know you need until it is too late.
While you’re making a strange swap, something more unseen, would be a supercharged 2.3
TWO POINT THREE!!! This is a great little engine and quite a wild swap. Can't wait to see the final product.
Ambition. The hardest part of any low budget build.
Had a couple turbo coupes with that lil motor.
Fun cars when you turn up the boost a lil.
My 88 was my first car
I think the hardest part of any build is maintaining momentum and motivation
For me it is that, but also just getting started. I spend so much time thinking and planning but then hesitate to actually get to work. I think it's because I worry about everything not working out correctly.
This is actually the build I subscribed for back before you started the new build on it. So, I'm pretty excited to see the engine back in! Hope progress goes smoothly.
Everything’s in line to get it back on the road before the month is over!
@@TeamBoosted Sweeeet. I'm pretty hype. You guys have done so much work to that thing.
I'm glad it is fully built otherwise it wouldn't run and probably not hold oil or water.
Most challenging thing is getting the cash together
I hear that!
Hate wiring, agreed! I also agree that you guys should put in a train horn on the Datsun. Fire as always!!!
Bitchin, the Datsun is what brought me to your channel, I'm excited. And my biggest challenge is always over thinking things, and making it rougher than necessary. That's with everything, wiring, Fab, or even bolt on. Keep it simple I'm learning.
Most challenging? Picking a single color for the engine bay... It's so flashy I'm gonna have a seizure, yet somehow I like it.
This is pretty freaking awesome. I love your guys videos. Yall should build a street legal stock car.
I think the hardest thing with any project car is not giving up or not taking forever... I've seen so many people give up after a year or two even though they have everything they need to complete it they just have to finish putting it together.
Hi guys yep wiring but some guys love it can't wait to c the time the car will run
Guys, it's coming together pretty good.
The most challenging element of a build, is the choice of components. Hard to get it right the first time.
Hated the engine bay paint at first but now with the motor back in it's starting to grow on me
I hope you guys go in depth on the wiring for me to reference when I’m doing my Capri!
😄baby 🦊
Looks dope guys
OK can i tell you guys, i completely and unironically LOVE the engine bay and engine paint jobs in this thing. I'm a little messed up i know. Coulda done without the stickers though...
the most challenging thing building car is were to get money from to do a awsome build . Shout out from grand junction colorado
Nice progress on the build guys. Most challenging part is probably getting everything done within the timeline you've set (if you have one). And of course finishing a build - is a build really ever finished?
I think the hardest part of any builders making sure you have enough money to build what you want because then everything else is still. Yes it’s difficult but definitely worth it in the end when you know you have the money to get the parts that you need and utilize the things you need to get it done and also having the time to do it
I believe for me wiring isn’t my favorite it’s definitely scared me. Other than speaker wire
but anything engine/drivetrain related with wiring definitely makes me nervous
But I can’t wait to see y’alls car started driving 🤘🏽🤘🏽🤘🏽☺️
To watch you u finish this car it's the hardest part !!!!
love the paint
Waiting for money and time to come together is always the hardest part 😂
Staying on budget is always my biggest issue when it comes to builds.
Another great video
Love the engine bay.
Can't wait to see what time this does at 1/4 mile
Hardest part is just keeping track of what needs to be done, and what needs to be done next to minimize back tracking
Hardest aspect..... motivation. Took me a year to tear down my motor and start putting it back together.
Deff wiring. That thing is disgustingly beautiful
Most ridiculous swap?? Phht.... I'm doing this swap in a 1980 Corolla. Beat that😁 honestly, difficult as hell either way. Sweet car guys. Y'all got a new sub👍
Wiring for sure!
I feel the most difficult thing on a car build is wiring and tuning
I can mirror polish, weld, paint, wiring, tune, metal beating, engines, trans, diffs, axles, the hardest for me is the color scheme, make everything match
Everyone has their flaws
Most challenging for me is the funds to do it
I think the most challenging is the computer tuning and that side of it.
The most challenging thing for me is tuning the ECU.
The most dificult thing for.me.is the money. I don't have it to buy the supplies, materials, parts I'd need to do things I want to. I have the knowledge and the ability to do mostly whatever I put my mind to. Usually if I don't know how to.do something I just go at it and learn by doing.
Love this engine combo
Wonder how this motor from a tempo would hold up to boost in like a death cart set up ?
Thats what im wondering. I have an 85 tempo that i want to make a sleeper out of. I remember hearing that the block for the 2.3 hsc is the same as the turbo Thunderbird and the only difference is the head
Hardest part is pulling myself away from all the car videos on RUclips
2 weeks optimism :)
Yea I would have to go with wiring is probably the hardest.
Hardest part of my builds is finding the time to work on them in the first place!
I love this engine swap. My first vehicle was a base model 89 ford ranger with a 2.3l I always wanted to slap a turbo on it but I was a kid and didn't have that kind of money or knowledge. Is this motor our of a t bird, mustang, or ranger?
Waiting for the twin charging haha.
Wiring without a doubt
You guys need a PIMPxs stand-alone from stinger performance. I use it for my 2.3L in my 87 Merkur. Will make life so much easier for you on the tuning aspect. Keep it up my dudes!
Im pretty sure they have a pnp megasquirt but i dont know the brand.
We actually have the Pimp from stinger.
That’s awesome! I did not know that, I absolutely love love LOVE IT!
What do you think about the spec clutches?
Fire...
Should show a video of how he did the wiring harness
I would have to say the most challenging part for any build for me is to get the quiet time to actually work on my build. Other than that, I agree it has to be fabricating.
Living in a condo with no garage is the hardest part.
It’s all the little parts for a classic car restoration.
I almost forgot about the anime girls on the inside, but that wiring is going to be a bitch like always, luckily though since you have done it before it should be a little easier
Better make that wiring look sick, please wrap it in colourful electronic tape
Make some wiring explained video currently trying to wired my 280z it’s a nightmare, how much to wire it for me?🧐😂
Only opinion that I have is you should have put ARP head studs in. I completely understand your theory on the torque to yield bolts but you will most likely lift the head using those bolts compared to ARP. Stretch is what you're trying to avoid and torque to yield bolts are meant to stretch.
tuning would be the most hardiest thing to do for a build
You guys should cummins swap the datsun when this engine carks it
buying the parts 😂
im putting a ebay turbo on the stock 2.3l out a 1990 ranger
Did you ever get to dyno the car with this setup?
Definitely deciding what parts to buy that are within my broke-ass college kid budget that will make my car fast
hard part for me is finding all the right parts. I'll order stuff wait for it to come in and the have it be the wrong part, but its my fault i just haven't found a good way to order correct parts 100% of the time
Do a video of the wiring!
Trainzzzz
Hardest part is motivation lol
Hardest part not dropping things
I wanna do that but that seems like alot of work and shit idk how to do
Wiring is definitely the most tedious part of a build, worth it tho
Living
what motor mounts are you guys using, I cant remember seeing that style
Theyre xcessive ae86 urethane mounts. I had them for another project in the works
Jet airplanes, trains blowing the horn, hope you have cheap rent! lol
Spending the bones for all that racing shit is what sucks!
Its not the worst but its in california on the coast so no,. No we do not
How's the Porsche 911sc doing?
I want that trans for my mustang
What is happening to the side exit exhaust hole? Twin pipe one out the side one at the back?
We are tossing around two options. It will either get a boost operated cutout and run out the side as well,. Or more likely we will just route the wastegate outlet through it
Definitely wiring.
so, a train engine for a future build?
Most challenging thing: body work
The moment your car is almost done but you missing a key part.
4 cylinders always look so lost in z engine bays haha. I should hate that nothing matches engine bay hazard line engine bay colour scheme but I really don’t. It’s good to see something different and ‘out there’
It's been so long that I forget, is that the 2.3 Lima engine from the Turbo Mustang and the Merkur XR4Ti?
James Roberts Yup same one. Glorified pinto engine.
My friends merkur was geting beat by my civic ef sohc lmao!!
Nah that shit should make good power
Guys do a collab with Dustin William I’m pretty sure he’s next to you guys he has the exact same warehouse
wiring for sure
Def has to be wiring for sure 😃🔫
Need train horn for sure
Hardest part for me is finding performance parts that actually fit 😡
Tj never had trains going by that shop when it was his
I mean, he absolutely did, he probably just fimed around it,. The railroad has been there for way longer than the building has
@@samjohnson7325 obviously
Los of parts available in ‘Merica for that engine.
Racer Walsh has them.
Body work always kills me.
Hello can you tell me what engine you use in this build?
The whole 3-4 minute
