hello thanks for this. I’m using floral tape and when I finished wrapping the wire it was very sticky on the outside. I am developing products to sell in my handmade business. Stems for my crochet flowers. What do I do about the stickiness? Does it become completely non sticky on the outside of the stem over time and if so how long does that take please? If it stays sticky then can you suggest ways to get around this please? Many thanks
Hello! I have noticed that different tape brands react differently. Some I have zero issue with them being sticky after rolled and others make such an icky feeling for awhile. They should dry out after time to lose that sticky. But depending on how sticky it started out as may take longer. I’ve seen others try baby powder or cornstarch and then dust it off. Worth a try! If your end product is intended to be handled a lot have you considered doing a crochet stem? Or if not going to be handled (more of a display only) then having them sticky for awhile while they dry out slowly isn’t a terrible big deal either!
@ thank you very much indeed for your reply. I could consider a crochet stem. I am wishing to mix it up a bit and learn different techniques. I'm very interested to know which brands you had no problem with in terms of staying sticky on the outside of the stem afterwards.
Another great video Lisa! Love the hand lotion trick.
