I just got your book today and I’m excited to learn how to make greens to fill in around my paper flowers. Thanks for posting some videos here on youTube to give me some confidence!
Hello, when I use florist tape for my paper flowers, the tape stays sticky for ages. I have got some stems I made weeks ago and the stems are still sticky. Do you have any advice? Thanks!
Thank you so much for the links on where to buy better quality floral tape! I’ve struggled to find ANYONE discuss this topic! It’s seemed like my only options were overpriced junk from big-box craft stores or the sketchy oriental brands off amazon selling in junky products in bulk! I figured there had to be a better option for when you care about quality and don’t want to support large retailers- but it’s a rather niche product that no one seemed to be addressing souring. thank you so much
Thank you so much for including that papermart link in the description. The prices are great, and my local michael’s only carries one shade of green. 🙄
Hi, nicely explained. I also use floral tape in my artificial flower I make. But mine wear-off from stem after several usage, by putting and pulling out from different floral arrangements. Is there any way to permanently fix the floral tape on the stem. Thanks in advance.
Hi. Like in Oasis or Styrofoam? Yes. This can happen. You can try covering the end of the stem in PVA glue, just paint it on. No getting it wet though! :)
I make artificial flowers and have just started using floral tape, but it stays sticky after I've finished the project, which isn't ideal. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks
I’m learning to crochet flowers....and I have to start with the top of the wire bent and incorporating some yarn to thicken the stem.... having trouble getting the tape to stick to the yarn.....?? Any suggestions??
Hi. Floral tape may have a hard time sticking to yarn--as it sticks best to itself. But, you can use a quick-dry glue just at the start to get it going! Hope this helps. Let us know!
I unfortunately bought Ashland floral tape at Michaels. I bought the white. I have lots of experience wrapping my own crepe paper take with Alene's Tacky Glue. So I know how to do this. I bought this Ashland tape because I wanted to put it on a wire with faux berries and leaves (made in China) I stuck into rocks and water to support my forced paper whites. To my amazement it broke into two layers! One looks like scotch tape and the other like white paper. Since Ashland does not seem to have a video on how to use their floral tape, I am searching all over to find out how to use their tape. Actually I bet it is one that is less good... Anyway, I wonder if you have advice?
Oh! wow! I don't know that brand, and I have never heard of that happening before. but, if I were in need of a floral tape that has to sit in water, I would use the one that feels more like duck tape... let me see if I see a link. ah, here: amzn.to/3F3R2v5

Hello! I would try (on a scrap piece!!) a tiny bit of cornstarch or dry shampoo. :)
@@corriebethmakes Thanks, that's great, I'll give it a go. 😀
