Being fairly new to the fgc, it's always so cool getting to hear all these stories of the past and how rich the fgc lore is. While Brian is spouting off his influences, little does he know, he's actually one of my biggest influences to keep going too hahah
Good to see Smug getting credit for the pro player/content creation side of things. BrianF is absolutely right, he was pretty much the only pro player/content creator at one point. People were either making content and guides like Maximilian and VesperArcade, or pro players who only went to offline tournaments and might stream a few times a month but didn't care about gaining a following or getting subs. Smug did both, and then pro players started catching onto the idea since there really wasn't an offline choice by the time the pandemic hit.
I swear every fighting game player got that one story of “I thought I was the best so I went to a local and got bodied” 💀it’s gotta be like a shared experience for everybody
First local torny I went to I made it to GF. It was a tiny (20ish players) local with mostly causal players, second tournament was a little bit a bigger event(200 players).......went 0-2 never been humbled so fast. 😂😂😂😂
SMUG . dude was the first sf streamer I watched often. absolutely hilarious with the quotes. "what you jumpin for boi!?" "acting like you won't get command grabbed". His streams are much different now but man sf4/sf5 were great
Dude that story with Daigo on the overpass thats some sports anime shit right there lmao. Now I gotta get better so i can go on one if these and say hiw Brian_F inspired me despite being a sf player when i play anime fighters. Hes just such an articulate and passionate dude, and he explains concepts in ways that just make so much sense. Absolute legend.
Just a friendly reminder that Brian's content is dope and he won that Texas Showdown a week after getting surgery for testicular cancer, so if you don't follow him you should
Brian legendary its crazy that he said he really only started grinding tourneys fr in the 2017 era. You woudlnt think 😯, salute momo for beating his ass then 🤣

Brian himself will be the inspiration for a whole new generation of champions. The FGC is one of a kind.
Starting with sf6 brianf is probably my favorite sf youtuber. His recaps for big events are appreciated
Very well-produced video with germane callbacks cutting to pertinent clips. I'm impressed!
Respect the stones!
Love the sako pick, I learned so many awesome combos in sf4 because of that man!

Who's number 1 overall tho, Brian? Seemed Momochi was just #1 in modern era sf6 sense.

More like Bricep
Now here’s a dude that chokes at every tournament lmao
I've always found it weird that Sajam's online alias is Brian_F
