I was also addicted to Sugru. It was amazing at first but I soon found that I had lost control and from simple fixes I soon found that I was using Sugru for all building applications. My home now has more Sugru than Wood, Metal and Mortar combined! But after a lot of pain and with a ton of hard work and with the love and support of my family and good friends I have now been free of Sugru for 197 days and counting. Be careful guys this stuff should not be underestimated!
I found you quite by accident. BUT, YOU are my New SUPER HERO!!! This is just what I need. Plus, your method is SO, thorough. I'm so motivated. You helped me with my fear of electric work. Now, I just watch you to see what else I can learn. Thanks! I can DO THIS!!
Just tried out the Sugru as you suggested. Patched a hole at the bottom of my WetVac. Works great. Thanks for the tip. Thanks, also, for doing these videos. I sometimes find myself slipping into bad habits and shortcuts when doing projects. Your videos remind me of the right practices.
I used it to fix the bar in my refrigerator that holds in the condiments. Since it's thin plastic stretched-out they'll break in the middle. I used this a few years ago and it's still holding strong.
One thing I'd like to add is to be mindful of the expiration dates on the package. I got ahead of myself a while back and bough a metal tin with about 8 packets inside and didn't notice it was near the expiration date. I didn't end up using all of the packets of Sugru in time and had a few packets that were too dry to use. I called Sugru and got a replacement but it WAS a bummer to open the packet and not be able to use it. This stuff IS amazing!!! Glad you were able to do a video on it!!! If you haven't looked at the Sugru website to see the origins of the product, it's really interesting to see.
I own a hardware store and sell this product. A little pricy but we have never had a return for non performance. Members of my staff love it and I keep some in my mobile tool set because you never know what you'll run into.
another really useful product especially for pex hoses with leaks, garden hoses or radiator hoses... we also use it for electrical insulation repair is: Tommy tape a self sealing silicone tape without glue. It bonds to itself.
When I saw the video thumbnail, I thought this was going to be a review of a sugar alternative. (That's what the packet and name resemble to me.) Sugru seems like a great product. It appears to be similar to the two-part epoxy putties, such as Selleys Kneed It. All the epoxy putties, I've used, dry rock hard, so Sugru could also be used in place of those, when the job needs something more flexible. I don't think any two-part epoxy putty could grab the smooth surface of glass or plastic, like Sugru does, either. :-)
I know this video is years old but holy cow!!! I just ordered some to fix my refrigerator door shelves. I've been bingeing your videos and love them. Soooo glad I found you! You're the best.
Cool! I am a home do it your seller (country gal)... we always said nothing a little binder twine and baling wire won’t fix and now ...I have SUGRU thx to you. Much appreciated Leah! Love your segments
I used it to fill in the gaps left in degraded rubber caster wheels that had been sitting on a dirt floor for over 25 years. I smoothed it out and now have workable wheels again for my kitchen cart (which will be cleaned and repainted soon.)
I highly recommend you check into QuikS teel if you need something that's easy to work and can even be drilled / tapped. I've only seen it at auto parts stores, but I am sure you can find it online. That stuff is almost indestructible. I made a wiper knob for my old truck and fixed a broken dash mount cell phone holder. Have also repaired a stripped out bolt hole (fill up the hole, wait for it to cure, drill, tap, fixed!) I will be checking into this Sugru as well =)
I'll be adding this to my "necessary products" list for repairs. It's the MIDDLE of two other products that I use, and I'd like this because it's rubbery-flexible. For temporary (or a little longer than temporary) I buy and use Rope Caulk, available in dark brown, white, and grey. It's moldable too, form into shape, press into place, and you can easily remove it when you want to. The epoxy putty products, you knead two products to a consistent color, then mold and press into place, and it will also stop water leaks in pipes, etc. But it's rock hard, and totally permanent. No room for wiggle! This SUGRU will fill in the need when I need an in-between product, that comes in more colors, and can be flexible and even can be cut and reshaped after it's cured!
I've used it with good results. I've even drilled, tapped and mounted stuff with machine screws on it. It's not as strong as steel but is got the job done and is holding good. Even in the sealed packets it has a shelf life. Seems like every time I go after my Gorilla Glue it's shot too.
LEAH!!! The holes in the cutlery basket of our dishwasher have been driving me CRAZY for YEARS!!! Sugru? I'M ON IT!!! FIVE GOLD STARS FOR YOU TODAY!!! WOO HOO!!! Steph from Dundas Ontario (near Toronto) Blessings...Steph
I am glad you put that information on Sugru online and I wrote it down on my note pad so I can look for it. I hope you all are having a nice weekend and God Bless.
Sugru was invented by a young Irish lady (sugru is based on an Irish word meaning play) who, with others, went on to crowd fund it. The investors lost 90% when Sugru was bought out by a German adhesives manufacturer.
I have fixed many things with this product and it’s great! Saved $50. 00 on a cam holder that the plastic ball was cracked, recreated a new ball and a few other things.
You’re amazing! I saw SUGRU on other YT sites. I like what you did on this video. Big Fan of your channel, Thank You for the work you put into your videos. Practical and useful ideas!
Thank you adding to my tool box .I was about to repurchase my irrigation hoses prior to watching this video. Keep on teaching keep on reaching. Good day.
Interesting product. I've not yet seen it here in Oz but it looks similar to a product called 'Knead It', the difference being that it's two compounds you 'knead' together instead of being air dried.. Works well on copper pipes etc. You probably know about 'fixing' plastics with super glue and baking powder?
Magnets are not the best thing to have near a television, I used Velcro brand velcro on the tv and remote and it works wonders. Love your videos, the information is informative and easy to follow. Thanks for showing that women can also use tools productively.
Love, love your videos......I am handicapped and starting to work with wood. Thanks for your calm and complete instructions on everything. Here's wishing you health and wealth now and in the future!!
lYou can make the FOOD SAFE stuff yourself if you replace the Clear Silicone Chalk with "FOOD SAFE" silicone and SAVE BIG TIME. 40 to 1 savings. ruclips.net/video/7fwytA5r2Mw/видео.html
Leah:Thanks very much for the video and information. I love your Videos, and since I am a Mechanical person myself, I realize the importance of a good description of how to do things correctly.Again ThanksCon
I really hope you got paid by Sugru to make this video, because this is the best ad they could get... makes me want to go out and buy some right now! :D
I fix my utensil basket with small white zip ties. I clip as much of the the tail as possible so it's not noticeable. Been doing it for years. Sugru is probably more permanent.
I'm missing the securing handle for a Karcher underbody lance. If I coated the lance body with vegetable oil first, do you think I could mould the Sugru around the lance and turn it on the thread to create an internal thread on the Sugru? I don't want it to stick to the lance itself. I need to be able to tighten it against the bayonet connection, to reinforce it. I'm looking at various options, as I can't seem to get a replacement handle.
Do I need to take everything out of my freezer and bring it to room temperature before adhering or is it good to cure it as is with freezer temperature?
I thought you were going to say it also came in sugarless. Did it hold up after you ran the dish washer and did you have the knob screwed in or held with a screw also?
Dave Clough Recently I noticed a home of a senior citizen that was being held together with surgical tape. Move over duct tape there's a new tape in town.
this stuff looks amazing, i just ordered some myself. but im not so sure you wanna stick a magnet to your television...i know that magnets tend to mess up electronic devices.
Brent Hinds Hi Brent, you know, we researched this, and the magnets should not affect an LCD TV. The problem seemed to have been with the old tube televisions.
Not a problem for the new TVs. The old ones with the Cathode Ray tubes had the problem. The reason is in the way they work. A beam of electrons is accelerated toward the face of the CRT to illuminate phosphor dots as it hits them. The beam of electrons is moved back and forth and up and down to "paint" the picture in glowing dots. The way the beam is moved is by modulating a magnetic field in a "yoke" around the neck of the tube. This works because electrons are charged particles and so are influenced by magnetism. If you find on old TV you can play games with a magnet on the screen, distorting the picture. The principles of operation of all newer picture "tubes" (display's really) are entirely different.
+Con Borg Actually, it's a product of the UK. Sugru has a website where purchases can be made. In addition, here in the US the product is available at Target and Lowes. Hope this helps.
Teflon joint tape but you have to seperate the pipes. Don't know about Sugru but had no luck with two part putty that was designed for sealing leaks. It will work for a few days or months but under constant positive water pressure (80 psi or so in my case) will find a way to escape.
I was also addicted to Sugru. It was amazing at first but I soon found that I had lost control and from simple fixes I soon found that I was using Sugru for all building applications. Hi Zach, funny comment! Question for you. Do you know if this damages drywall when it's time to remove?
Lol

5:28 colour on the packing. I love it when they use the correct spelling :)
It's a Irish product so I guess they spell colour the British way too. My boss brought some back to the UK a few years back for us. Amazing product.

This would be true for the old CRT TVs with electron beam, but not so for flat screens.
I'm really addicted to your Videos ! Thank you very much!!!
Awesome invention by Jane!
VERY cool! I have several projects that have been waiting for this :-)
Pax Runs Hi Pax, glad it was helpful!
It works best if you clean the surfaces before application. For glass, a final cleaning with isopropanol is ideal.
Brandon Fesser I could see that
Never heard of this, but now I have to go buy some.
Love, love your videos......I am handicapped and starting to work with wood. Thanks for your calm and
complete instructions on everything. Here's wishing you health and wealth now and in the future!!
“I gotta tell ya “ I love it
OMG! Love this stuff, "moldable rubber husband".
There are sooo many levels to that joke good one
Sugru is really great, but it is not food safe.

Well done, thanks. Cheers !
Just ordered multi pack for about $20 a black and white and color pack...I'm about to get sugru busy.!!!
Make it yourself at 1/40th of the cost of this stuff. WAY over Priced
I really hope you got paid by Sugru to make this video, because this is the best ad they could get... makes me want to go out and buy some right now! :D
+gottistzukurz no, we weren't paid for it, but we really do like Sugru!
Hi Leah, what a great product! Thanks for the demos and for sharing. Your videos are always a pleasure to watch.
Angela T thanks :)
Lol Leah!!! I thought it was a sugar package for coffee
Wonder if it will help hold my curtain rod brackets in the walls?! Worth a try! Thanks!
Lea!! We must live in the same house... our remotes go missing all the time too!!
Awesome neva heard of this thanx
Really enjoy your videos. Keep up the good work.

I love your voice
+Zahra Anwar :)
+seejanedrill ..
♡
Just ordered the home hack kit and the 3 pack +sugru
Love your videos...I painted houses for 16 years...if I knew this was available id be still painting houses! Is this paintable?
it is paintable, but the paint chips easily because the material is flexible
This is so cool!
I thought you were going to say it also came in sugarless. Did it hold up after you ran the dish washer and did you have the knob screwed in or held with a screw also?
Curious how it held up after years of running the washing machine or boiling water. Hope it’s still going strong!
How much weight can it hold.i want to hang cloth liner with it instead of drilling. Will sugru work
Holy Crap ~ Who Knew ~ Thank you XXX00XX!
I love this! I can think of all kinds of fixes around my house this will work on.❤
Something better than duct tape? How can it be
Hmmm Still keep the Duct tape handy for the fast fixes, but this stuff looks goods if you have time for it to set. Interesting.
Dave Clough Recently I noticed a home of a senior citizen that was being held together with surgical tape. Move over duct tape there's a new tape in town.
Norma Jean Clark hahaha
Awesome!
This is awesome!!
i love sugru too
You're awesome 👍🏼
Jane, can this be used to color fill an inlay in wood then sanded smooth?
this stuff looks amazing, i just ordered some myself. but im not so sure you wanna stick a magnet to your television...i know that magnets tend to mess up electronic devices.

Great video Leah! I just joined your site and I love it. About the Sugru, where do you buy it? Thanks, Patrick
+pkdenaissance Hi Patrick, I believe they carry it at most home improvement stores, but you might be able to get a better deal online.
I love this stuff just wish it was not so expensive. I don't use that reason alone great product very expensive
Jeremiah Oddo It is a little pricey, but there are just some things that sugru can fix that other products can't
Awesome
fyi magnets are not suppose to be near a tvps tu for the informative video I do want to try the product out
No longer true.
So now we have Sugru AND duct tape!
I WISH there were many more SJD vids. A lot more.
ss usual U are awesome. I think we need to get you a 30min weekly tv show!
thank you very much!
What a cute name! Haha
Grealt Tip Leah. Can I buy Sugru in Canada, if so where? Thanks againCon
+Con Borg Actually, it's a product of the UK. Sugru has a website where purchases can be made. In addition, here in the US the product is available at Target and Lowes. Hope this helps.
that's almost good for brakes lol. I've never heard of that stuff. Where did you get this stuff?
Richard Cowtails I got mine at Lowe's, but I've heard that they might also carry it at Target
fantastic I'm itching to play with it lol
wow, but we don't get that here in manila, as far as i know..
+skyllo yes, but you can order it online....:)
Where is this product in the hardware store? I have never seen it.
they do carry it at the big box stores such as Home Depot & Lowes
Does it stick to water????
Can’t figure out where I can buy this?
Cool beans.
Love your channel! Curious about your logo... (I'm a graphic designer) A tribute to Pac Man, perhaps?😁 Keep up the great work!
I played Pac Man as a kid but the logo is simply an eyeball that is looking on.
can't get it in australia yet what a shame :(
wow why could I have not invented that or u that person is living the high life right now!!!! where can I purchase that????
may be better to sugru iron to the tv and magnet to the remote!
Can I use that to repair a joint in a hot water pipe?
maybe
How much money
yes u!can
+Cintya Caceres :)
can i hang my projector screen on the wall with surgu?
+Guy Dviri I doubt it
+Guy Dviri I am pretty sure u can. If you have looked at other things done with sugru, it is pretty strong.
will this work on pvc joint leaks?
Teflon joint tape but you have to seperate the pipes. Don't know about Sugru but had no luck with two part putty that was designed for sealing leaks. It will work for a few days or months but under constant positive water pressure (80 psi or so in my case) will find a way to escape.
you know what I will subscribe
thanks!
seejanedrill no problem ☺
cast iron stove top ?
seejanedrill , Not going to lie. I thought it was a sugar alternative... I wounder will it patch a boat..
mhall027 :)
When Subaru dries it becomes flexible
Rosa Cahill subaru? like the 🚗
I thought Sugru was an energy bar snack. They taste terrible!
