I'm considering tapering off Quietiapine XR. I'm also taking Sodium Valproate with it. Please can anybody guide me how to get off these meds because my stupid doc thinks it's better for my mental health when it isn't!
Iam having quietiapine too from last 1.5 years and my doc just keep increasing the dose. It’s messes your overall health

@@naseermushtaq4968 it's hard to trust the doctor who put you on this horrific drug in the first place.. particularly when they are hell-bent on upping the dosage or having you on as many different pills as they can at same time. I wish I never went near psychiatrists in the first place.. these drugs are dangerous but they won't admit it or warn of side-effects and how you get stuck on them because withdrawals are hell once the system gets used to them.
I'm trying to get off this poison too.. not enough information and support for people like us. I told my doc I wanted a taper off and they said OK but by 25mg reduction every week..from what I hear that's way too drastic a reduction that will give bad withdrawal symptoms
.I feel like either they know nothing about tapering and withdrawal or that , even worse, they do know and want to punish me for always challenging them..that maybe they know from experience with others, that I will come back to them soon begging them to up my dose again..
I have so much bad experience with them that I have zero trust.
I think all you can do is taper down by yourself using pill cutter as slowly as possible if your doctor won't work with you on tapering but it would be very irresponsible of them to not assist you, . I hope you have a better relationship and some leeway with your doctor in that they will listen to your needs and help you cut down your medication safely until you are off it.
If they won't help you do this you know they are not listening to what you want and need. That's not a helpful relationship, it's tyranny.. it's not too much to ask for a slow, safer taper off a drug you don't feel is right for you.
I don't know about you but personally I think all psychiatric drugs are harmful..some maybe more than others but all do damage to the brain and body that takes time to heal.
Doctors should not treat their patients as Ginnie pigs on a trial basis without understanding the patient's conditions. It should also be closely monitored.

This is of course very complete and very well presented and competent. Still, good as it is, it is also very objeeective and dry. Also, I do not understand why medical persons always insist on using the scientific name of medications. I do not know all of them and in my experience psychiatrists talk about Zyprexa, and not olanzapine. All human activities should be immediately recognizable. I do not tell people about the managing of morphemes in different languages. Very good video, but somewhat academic
It's too academic. It's side effects are far too worse and patients need more support from the doctors their team members and the hospitals should be equipped with professional nurses who have real understanding of those patients who have been prescribed this drug.

So given unecessarily is abuse esp if drs know some is sprinter and we dont have mental health issues.even when treatment has stopped it does not improve it is harmfull dors nothing to improbe schizophrenia it causes problems.
