- Explosions were heard and a fire broke out in the temporarily occupied town of Dzhankoy in northern Crimea early this morning, April 17, according to the Telegram channel ASTRA.
Residents report that the explosions and fire occurred in the area of the local military airfield. Judging by the photos, russian army lost 3 S-400 and 2 S-300 systems, a radar and a storage of missiles.

Me too. It may not be until the elections, because Biden said he will reject a separate bill to Israel, yet Johnson then went straight to separating them. We should still keep our fingers crossed. He has lost his comfortable majority and does seem to see the writing on the wall. In any case, we should all keep calling any representatives who have not signed discharge petition number 9, and insist that they sign it to force Johnson to bring the vote on the existing bill to a vote. Looks like a vote on Saturday maybe. Ok, so it is there, but the bill numbers are not. We need to be careful being too hopeful because Biden told him he would not sign standalone Israel aid, but then Johnson went ahead with separating them. I’ll check the WH briefing and see what they say about it now. If it is a separate vote, it is just for show to trick republicant voters.

I saw a press conference, today, where the NATO leaders clarified their position. They’ve straightened out some confusion about priorities. There’s a requirement for member states to hold a certain defensive capability in readiness, at all times. Countries that currently have AAA systems have been holding onto them, because handing them over would bring them below the minimum requirement for NATO membership.
Today they announced that when making such decisions, protecting Ukraine was more important than maintaining minimum standards for their own protection.
That should free up a few logjams.
Disappointingly, they didn’t give a clear answer as to why Iran’s missiles were all shot down before they were a serious threat to Israel, by a coalition that included many NATO countries, yet the same cannot be done for Ukraine.
That question needs to be asked again, more loudly.
Canada is going to donate over 800 drones to Ukraine as part of 500 million aid package. The drones cost about $95 million dollars Canadian.
@@duncancremin1708 The Iranian missile/drone attack was a posture attack. A symbolic retribution for Israel attacking Iran's sovereign soil in an Embassy. Israel claimed it was a military compound, however attacking Embassies of any country is against convention, and might well be considered a war crime by International Court.
Iran provided the timing of the launch window to US and it's allies, as well as to other Middle East countries.
This was stated as all the retribution Iran was committing in retaliation to Israel.
Possibly @johansteyn59 can convince Russia to pre-announce their planned missile strikes on Ukraine, but that is not possible is it? I do admit one can ask, but if one is inside Russia that might well be answered by showing those asking outside the building once more; A third story window is Putin's standard exit for anyone asking questions he doesn't want asked. So, Good Luck. I guess.
And again, err excuse me, but I believe that the UK has been one of the higher donating countries for military aid!? Why do you imply otherwise? That said, if you want me to hassle an MP about this, lmk!
And remember that Aus, UK and Canadian population size are dwarfed by the USA and EU.
@johansteyn All of those you mention, with the exception of the USA, have never stopped supplying weapons, ordnance, and training to Ukraine. It's the US that has been holding back for months, and all thanks to that friend of Putin, and failed former president, Donald J Trump.

I never cry but today I broke down when I saw the video from Chernihiv. I guess the pressure relief valve tripped and the emotions were allowed to flow. Because really, I see and hear these atrocities every day in the media feed. Then I wiped my tears, got terribly angry and donated a, for me, substantial penny to help Ukraine.

Excellent reaction because I too, and I think most women anyway, have an emotional damn that they hold back their sad emotions and angry feelings until they reach the top and then they are able to cry (in the shower if necessary) and release their anger so that they can continue to think clearly and factually with reality and do the right thing for Ukraine!! @Korpen_1979 I know it feels so silly and bad not being able to prevent this, when we're of the so-called rich and wealthy part of the world, yet everything gets drowned out by the political games, elections, and escalations in different hot spots the media likes to focus on in the world. Based on his actions I expect his bill to have problematic inclusions that will cause others to vote against it and also cause it to go back to the senate for passage. I don't expect him to submit for vote the bill that already passed the senate.

Howdy Anna, thanks for the clarification of the name of Dzhankoi. Its uniqueness had been obvious and now I know why. I believe that a diversity of cultures and people who can unite under a common flag make for greatness of a nation and those who attempt to eradicate culture are true orcs.
I will try to make your Sunday stream but may need to stay out of my greenhouse which seems to have a time warp around it. I go in planning only to stay for fifteen minutes only to emerge several hours later.
All the clean up tasks are done but still somehow I manage to spend time that outside seems to be much longer than experienced inside. (I haven’t worn a watch since I retired and always forget my phone back in the house)
Anyway, thanks for your videos and only wish you could depend on our support, but we seem to have our own problems with a dictator wannabe. Stay strong, stay safe.

Hi Anna - brave and determined Ukrainian fighting as always. I've heard the F16 jets are on their way and, as you inform, Patriot Air Defence systems are always needed too. Anecdotally, it seems that Russia has taken so many strikes and hits to its military infrastructure and it becomes incrasingly difficult to know just how they intend and seemingly manage to replace it all. Surely, the attrition rate on the Russian side, at least, is unsustainable? As for radar then this apparently started as an acronym back in 1940. RAdio Detection And Ranging but no one today calls it that.

Hi Anna.
Simply seeing you getting your vlog out, each day, in spite of everything, makes me happy. I saw some good things that should make a difference very soon, today. It’s apparently not true that there are 100 Patriot systems in Europe and apparently the US has ultimate say over many of the ones that actually ARE here. That is starting to sound like F16s, which can’t change hands, even at the end of their useful life, without US approval. However, there are apparently SOME that can be made available and in today’s press conference, they said that helping Ukraine defend itself is more important than meeting targets set by NATO for defence capabilities. Countries are allowed to send inventory to Ukraine, even if doing so puts them in breach of the minimum standard required by NATO.
That should make a considerable difference.
Fingers crossed and hope for better news tomorrow.
