Both are same ... catabolism describes a catabolic reaction where as catabolic pathways describes a cascade of catablic reactions

Glucose to pyuruvate produces 7 ATP NOT 2 .ACTUALLY 9 ATP PRODUCES ANS 2 ATP USES SO TOTAL 9-2= 7 ATP PRODUCES CORRECT THAT ONE NOT 2 ATP

If you are considering only ATPs which are directly produced during glycolysis they are 2.. and if glycolysis continues to respiration then you have to consider ATPs formed from 2 NADH. But glycolysis continues to fermentation.. then yes.. answer is 2 ATPs. So if we purely talking abt glycolysis.. only 2 ATPs are gained
