You can actually find amazing rice terraces in every town in Mt. Province like the one in Maligcong Bontoc,.. take a look at some video clips of it how massive it is than this one in Batad... it is spectacular.
I've seen many spectacular rice terraces around the world, and there is a good reason the ones in the Philippines got UNESCO World Heritage status
@@milosh9k Right, I guess one thing is that most of it are 'stonewalled' unlike others like those amazing ones that I had seen in China & Vietnam which are carved along the mountains w/ walls that are just mud.

how much hiking did you have to do omce you were there? like how many hrs?
@@thekristineway it is up to you how much you want to explore around, I've got to the top of a mountain/hill overlooking Battad, do not remember exactly maybe just an hour steep uphill

Calling it the world's oldest rice terraces is totally inaccurate. There are much older rice terraces in China and Southeast Asia than this one. Rice culture came to the Philippines from the Asian mainland much later.
The oldest that are still in use today. You can check what UNESCO say about them. They do not directly make this claim, many other sites do. It is certainly questionable but also read about the other Rice terraces listed by UNESCO
