Really enjoy your reviews of older games. So refreshing from the constant Cult of the new bollocks. Don’t get me wrong I enjoy a new game for sure but there’s tons of older classics, like this one, that don’t get attention anymore. I still enjoy TTR but Airlines Europe is a really nice step up and a good first stocks & shares game. Cheers Mark

I did have Airlines some years ago. It's a good game without being a remarkable one, but I did miss is after it was gone and, on an impluse about a year ago, I picked up Pan Am. It's a 2020 title with some obvious thematic similarities to Airlines, but I can't really address that as I have not had Pan Am to the table yet.
Sadly, this game won't be getting a reprint and may be out of print forever. BGG forum rumours that the license was bought, and may see a mechanics from it put into a new game.
Got to agree with your verdict, this is a regular go-to for us. Disagree with your view of its provenance. Airlines/Airlines II/Union Pacific are the clear ancestors and the line predates TTR. Interesting idea about using magnets, I might consider some DIY bling with that, if not there’s always blu-tak (or Wrigleys).
