    I love that you showed all those older versions. I remember the 90's version for sure. For the first time ever, i think you have a game that looks like a decent production in each iteration. Like you said, you'd be happy with any version. So many other games that have been reproduced over the years, most of the time there are horrible produced versions you'd be glad to get rid of.

    What an awesome channel! I bought this game with NO idea how to play. Watched your entire 2 hour video and played right along with you! It’s wonderful that you do “play throughs” because that’s the easiest way for most to learn (as opposed to reading instructions out of a booklet).
    Keep up the great work!

    Nice to see that Dave has the objectively correct opinion that stocks and cash should be played open. He also makes a pile of five stocks and turns them perpendicular to his other shares! A gentleman and a scholar.

    I've really enjoyed these company investing/strategy games! (Big Boss last week and now this one) It's amazing how they are relatively straight forward in terms of play, but is quite thinky and surprisingly tense as the game goes on. Really fun to watch the playthroughs! :)

    Definitely a Thumbs Up for this one guys, fantastic video!
    Acquire is one of my all time favourite games, and I'm the proud owner of a 1999 AH copy, considered the best by some. I only bring it out on very special occasions, like let's say... if King Charles wanted to play, otherwise people will just have to do with my old and battered 3M Bookshelf copy that I picked up secondhand years ago.
    It's really great to see you guys playing older games - albeit in a modern reincarnation - because some of them are really excellent games that people know nothing about. Indeed me and some of my games playing friends have often said if we had the resources and skills to make videos of a quality as good as you, we'd do a channel showing only vintage games being played. I'd really love to see you give Hare & Tortoise by David Parlett the GameNight! treatment, another of my very favourite games.
    Absolutely brilliant video, really, really enjoyed this one, I'm now about to walk away from my computer with a huge smile on my face, and it's all because of you, thanks guys! 👍😁

    When Lincoln founded Continental, he got his free stock, but then he bought an additional one with two stocks of Tower...he didn't grab that 2nd Continental stock, so he shorted himself one stock.
    hahaha. Well...on the other hand, at the 30 minute mark, Lincoln started the last hotel (American, the dark blue one)...he got his free one, put it in his stack, then bought another one, which he first put on the stack, then moved it off so it wouldn't be confusing...after that, he bought two more Sackson ...this is where it gets funny, he picked up the two red stocks and another American and put them in the stacks, forgetting he had already set aside his American purchase...later when straightening up his play area, he placed that American stock back on his stack, so on that turn he actually got 3 stocks of American and 2 stocks of Sackson.
    So he shorted himself one stock of Continental, but gifted himself a free stock of American...not sure how either move effected future moves, but I do find it funny that one accident cost him one and another accident got him one basically nullifying the first error. What a wheeler and dealer!

    Great video, as usual! Thank you for sharing! 🙂
    I wonder why Sid Sackson games like «Acquire» or «Can't Stop» have their best editions in 1999 and 1980 respectively, and I don´t understand why publishers have not continued with those good game designs, since all the new editions have not managed to surpass those old ones. I suppose it will be due to actual problems of production costs, retail price and so on... This 2023 edition is OK, of course, but I prefer 1999 one.

    In the original game the shareholder bonuses were paid out at the end of the game as well.

    • @TheHumanwork
      @TheHumanwork 10 месяцев назад +1

      Yes of course. Majority and minority sharholder's bonus are paid out for all active company's in the end scoring. Otherwise it's no use to buy or change 2/1 stocks in the later parts of the game. Dave is not right when he say that it is only for megers. it's not!

    • @junkjunk81
      @junkjunk81 10 месяцев назад

      @@TheHumanworkAlso, if the bonuses were only for mergers and not for end-of-game scoring, then there would be no point in listing bonuses for corporations larger than 10 tiles. After all, a corporation at 11 or more is safe and can never close due to merger.

    I couldn't figure out how to edit my last comment. Realize that there is no reason to list shareholder bonuses above 11 unless they would pay out sometime. I am pretty sure you got that rule wrong.

  • @lawrencemorriss9018
    @lawrencemorriss9018 10 месяцев назад
