I disagree. This was very messy as he kept referring to differences between this version and the old version. They should have assumed that very few people would not know the old version and just do these new rules with no continued interruptions of a comparison with the old rules. It's one of the few times I've lost track of the rules. Normally rules explanations are great but not this time. Oh well
I love yalls series so much!!! I have bought and played so many games because of yall!!! Thank yall for taking the time to let us watch yall play these games!
Love the Seattle Pinball Museum shirt Lincoln! Living really close to Seattle, I've been there a few times, and love it every time, especially when they have a brand new machine to try :)
Guys, which version should we start with? I don't mind harsh or punishing games, I just want to play a version with more interesting decisions. ;) Old or new for a first game?
I had never seen this before. I bought the original Acquire and have played it a lot. The thing about both is that what happened to Niki in this game could happen to you in Acquire. I like Acquire a lot and would probably enjoy this also. Not sure you need both.
The radio towers. They give you 3 shares, but do they benefit the stock price or the payout during a merger? Do I just take 3 shares when I place the tower?
The radio towers are 3 shares you add to a corporation beyond the stock cards in the game. It gives a player the opportunity to move ahead on a corporation but sometimes at a cost above the stock price. Thanks for the note and for watching. -Lincoln
I love this game! but the one part I felt was Broken After a corporation reaches 50 million Everyone keeps adding to it for another 50 million,50 million,50 million,50 million My house rule: if a corporation reaches 50 mil. that company is protected and can no longer be added to properties at each end are "X" properties (parking garages?) getting the owner 10 mil at the beginning of each turn Protected properties also pay 5 mil in dividends per share at the start of your turn(encourages owning stocks) Also a merged company can be brought back, if there is Room for it (Nikki , would have been able to play all those 60's that she held) that would help speed the game using 5 building pieces to start another company The people in my play group like these house rules, so we use them every time
We played last night and the winner went all in on one company. We couldn't stop him from buying levels and boosting his stocks. We were also buying level cards but they wouldn't pay out enough to keep up with him and no one wanted to help boost his stocks any more. It's this an issue with the game or did we play poorly somehow?
It was cold in the studio so maybe that was why. Thankfully my hands are steady enough to paint miniatures. Thanks for the concern and for watching the show. -Lincoln
No. Million is million in both languages. A milliard is what Americans call a billion. A real billion is called trillion in American. Unfortunately the British are moving to the American words.
The game is broken exactly because of this 1:34:59, this game is the only game i own that need's some extra ruling from my own to move it from broken to playable, all my friends opinions were the same, is a broken game.
As usual, Dave does a great job of explaining the rules.

Yalls
I love when I see a new game at my local store, know absolutely nothing about it, and then shortly after it’s covered on this channel.
Just got this game for $9. Very excited to play it!!
Another super fun episode showcasing an awesome game 🥰
This show costs me money a lot of times - So many great games 😇
Thanks for the explanation and gameplay! I just got this for Christmas and can't wait to get it to the table!! Happy Holidays!
Ha! Dig the throwback cereal commercial intro!
Wow, thanks for a great introduction to a game I've never heard of, but now want to own.
wow another great game and I didn't see that result coming - great watch

I love the Seattle Pinball Museum. We’ve been twice and it is such a great range of machines. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln
Never played Big Boss before but i do have Chartered The Golden Age and you can see where it got it's inspiration from. Great game, great Game Night
I already met my new game quota with my wife for the next few months, but arghgh!!! I want this game!
Really enjoyed it
I owned Acquire and eventually sold it. Big Boss looks so fun to me - different enough from Acquire I think? On the Wish List it goes!
IMHO, much different, and I prefer BigBoss.
Just scooped this game up for $10 on Amazon! ☺
I just got it a couple days ago for 10 dollars. Ridiculous price! ☺️. I've spent way more on just expansions for games. 😬
@@PBMatthews254 100%! If anything, the box seems a little flimsy at first glance, but man--$10 feels like a DEAL! I can't wait to play it! 😄
Just got in my first game with four players last night. We absolutely loved it. ☺️
I think this is a great game, need to try and source it
Sorry I know it's not the exact date but happy birthday Dave
At 46:55 Dave paid Nikki twice for her placement.

That is correct: one of the minor flaws in early Eurogames. Contrast that to how FoR handles similar boxed-in issues.
@mjnickoloff what's FoR?
How many cards do you start of with 6 players. Does it change or is it always 10 cards to start no matter the player count
The radio towers. They give you 3 shares, but do they benefit the stock price or the payout during a merger? Do I just take 3 shares when I place the tower?

Big boss or acquire or foundations of rome?
All three? -Lincoln
@@boardgamegeek which one is most interactive? Which is most fun?
For pure bang for the buck I would say Big Boss is my favorite. Foundations of my Rome is great but very expensive. -Lincoln
FoR is fun but it's the "easiest" of the three. Then BigBoss, then Acquire.
I love this game! but the one part I felt was Broken
After a corporation reaches 50 million Everyone keeps adding to it for another 50 million,50 million,50 million,50 million
My house rule: if a corporation reaches 50 mil. that company is protected and can no longer be added to
properties at each end are "X" properties (parking garages?) getting the owner 10 mil at the beginning of each turn
Protected properties also pay 5 mil in dividends per share at the start of your turn(encourages owning stocks)
Also a merged company can be brought back, if there is Room for it (Nikki , would have been able to play all those 60's that she held)
that would help speed the game using 5 building pieces to start another company
The people in my play group like these house rules, so we use them every time
No majority shareholder bonus seems strange
Can you play a radio tower on a 6 high, making a maximum of 9 high?
The tower is just three extra stocks in a company. It does not add to the size of the company. Thanks for the note and for watching.-Lincoln

We were also buying level cards but they wouldn't pay out enough to keep up with him and no one wanted to help boost his stocks any more. I was wondering if that was a good strategy while I watched this. I'll know soon - my copy arrives tomorrow.
I noticed Lincoln had shaky hands😮! Or is it just me?🤔 Hope he's ok... Good game though!❤
probably just anxiety and fidgeting. the man doesn’t take breaks.
It was cold in the studio so maybe that was why. Thankfully my hands are steady enough to paint miniatures. Thanks for the concern and for watching the show. -Lincoln
@@boardgamegeek 😊❤️
I'd love a rematch! 😊
I'm always up for a game of Big Boss!
Great play through. I just find it annoying when a player throws components across the board instead of handing it over to the person handling them.
Just to share a curiosity: In German, Million means billion in English. A million is a Milliarde in German.
No. Million is million in both languages. A milliard is what Americans call a billion. A real billion is called trillion in American. Unfortunately the British are moving to the American words.
