As usual a great video but i always laugh when people talk about these minor updates ..i rode mine for 3500 miles around europe in the summer and any vibrations are so minor... with so many variables in road surfaces and tyre wear im sure most issues are in the riders head... and changing the position of the pegs to allow more lean angle will only affect tge top 1% of riders lol
Agreed 100%. Get rid of engine vibes and then put knobbies on it and you've got your vibes back. Or just throw a cheap set of bar end weights on it and job done. And, I'm only 6'1" and I would prefer LOWER pegs, not higher. I can see people complaining about that now too! 🤦♂️ If you want to make everyone happy, don't build motorcycles, give away free ice cream. 🤣
I have a 2016 Explorer XRT and I normally would be looking for a newer model by this point, but the T plane crank vibration has put me off. I bought mine to tour long distances and the smoothness of my Tiger 1200 is very important. Another downside is the height of the seat. I’ve put on the low seat (820mm) and it’s perfect for me. Triumph is a quality product and my cycle has been 100% reliable.
I owned previous generation Tiger (inline 3 cyl) and now the 1200 rally pro. People whine a lot about vibrations, but I think they just like bitching and finding an excuse from the fact they can't afford one. Give me more torque low end instead of girly smoothness anyday. This new engine has a lot of character and as bro on video says, it brings more excitement than 1300GS. I love mine and would never trade it for the old triple. I must say I like to go off road so the new one is better suited for me.
I have the first GT Explorer shipped to the USA. I had a 2020 XCX that I traded in. I LOVE the new engine! Just like you said, basically every single comment you read here and on the internet are from Trolls that can't afford one. Cheers
@@ttrguy9952 @dafebeme2 I hate to have to debunk your comments, guys. Let's first establish the fact that I do have the means to buy Tigers: I have owned a 2014 Tiger Explorer, two Tiger 900 Rally Pro's, a Tiger 1200 Rally Pro and a Tiger 1200 GT Explorer. Now that we've got that out of the way.... The Tiger 1200 with the T-plane crank does have a very noticeable issue with vibrations. At motorway speeds and rev's between 4000-6000 rpm, you do get a numb feeling in both hands and feet. And the mirrors are very blurry at various rev's and speeds. Adding after market bar-end weights does reduce it to some amount but not enough to really get rid of the numb feeling. And I have heard dealers admitting that the vibes are much more noticeable than on the old T1200 engine. So, the 2024 updates might bring some really needed changes. Looking forward to a test ride on what is otherwise a great bike.
@@michielvandepol6765 I've been on many 6-8 hour highway trips on my GT Explorer at 60-120 mph with zero hand numbness or vibration that bothered me at all. I'll take the T-Plane over my last 1200 XCX any day!
@michielvandepol6765 I've ridden 13 hours straight, just stopping to eat and never felt any numbness. Maybe you should have your bike checked or work on your seating position, avoiding putting so much stress when grabbing the handlebar.
Some people are really affected by the little bit of vibration out of that engine. I've never understood it. I put Evotech handguards on my Rally Explorer and they came with heavier bar end weights. What little vibration was there before, is pretty much gone now. I guess you can't please everyone. I've heard people complaining about vibes on the new GS too, along with a few other disturbing issues. As far as the mirrors are concerned, I don't find an issue there either. And who on Earth is busy reading licence plates on cars behind them at 70 mph anyway? 😂 As a 185 cm tall rider, I can definitely say that I wouldn't love the bike as much if the pegs were mounted higher. A 1 inch drop would've been the direction I'd like. Even with that, I've put many hours on the highway (and also on forest service roads) with this bike and it's the most comfortable bike I've ridden. The only thing I envy in the slightest, with the '24 is the new colours. I love Snowdonia White, but Khaki Sand really caught my eye. Thanks for the vid, Bob! Cheers.
I’ve done 6 hour days on my ‘23 1200 GT Explorer and the vibration has never been an issue. Maybe I’m lucky or something but it really seems like people are picking nits.
I got the 2023 Tiger 1200 GTE. Great ride! Its the best big thing i've bought so far. My only complaint is the mirror vibration beyond 65-70 mph. Just impossible to look at those mirrors. Hopefully the 2024 resolves that issue.
Riding a Multi V2 (950) which is smooth generally, and having ridden a T plane Triumph I really don’t see the vibes issue at all. But if you want a smooth dull engine, stay with a car, I personally think the new changes make a good bike even better.
It all makes sense now why my local Triumph dealer offered me so much off a 2023 Tiger 1200 at the weekend. A bit naughty they didn't tell me about this!
Same, local dealer has them discounted by thousands. Was tempted but have seen too many videos commenting on the vibrations, top heaviness, and front end dive. I'm keep holding out for the GS. Still none in my area though.🙁
Triumph seem to finical the bikes every year and so - yes the old one is going to be discounted to get rid of it before the NEW one arrives - and yes my dealership did the same - they know what's coming to !!! Like the car videos dude !
@@genxgamerdad141As I understand the GS situation BMW had a recall on the starter motor starting while riding due to a short. This out a pause on the release which should be wrapped up in next few weeks/ months.
@ashley_neal I work in a Triumph dealership here in Australia, don't know how it works for the rest of the world but we have absolutely no idea what's coming until it's announced to the public. When things are announced the dealer communications we get are a little more info intensive than what goes in the general press releases but at least here in Straya the manufacturer is very tight lipped about what's in the pipes. Quite often we find out about new models/updates because a customer will call the shop right as we open asking if we have the new one on the floor, and we sound like idiots as we have no idea what they're talking about.😂
Collected my new 1200 GT Pro last week and first thing that impressed me was the lack of vibes!.. coming from a Tiger Sport 1050 which at anything over 100kmph would render the mirrors unusable & give u pins n needles in your hands( I still loved that bike!) I can’t see any issue at all with vibes on this bike! super impressed with it all round…ps. half considered the GS & the KTM but love my Triumphs😊
I went from a TS 1050 to a BMW S1000 XR. The XR is several levels greater than than the otherwise capable TS. I rode the 1200 GT Pro before buying the XR and found it heavy (duty to shaft drive) with lots of vibes and awful engine sound (2022 model).
Great insight... I had the 900 gtpro in May 2020, the T plane crank was awful made my hands numb at cruising speeds. Spoke with Freddie in Triumphs customer service and he remarked it was deliberate to add ‘character’ and now pleasingly we see them trying to back track and smooth out with better combustion and rubber mounted bars... I’d be tempted to scrap the T plane and go with the Yamaha-esque cross plane crank, at least in the GT version... keep up with your honesty motobob and say it as you see it... I did and Triumph were dismissive of me in daring to suggest the T plane crank was vibey... 😂😂 now who was right!! 😊🍻👍
T plane crank in a triple is marketing BS why would what a rough feeling triple. Every triumph rider I’ve talked to says the same. If you want a twin buy a twin. Buy a triple because you don’t want the vibes. Brill vid as usual. Cheers
The only big twins available (for mixed on off road use) are on the 1290SA and 1300GS. KTM is too off road oriented and R versión doesn't have the techy suspensión the Tiger has. And as bro on video said, engine on Tiger brings more excitement than BMW. That's why I choose the Tiger. I owned the inline 3 1200 and I don't miss its whale weight feeling and poor low end torque.
I prefer the low frequency vibes on my 900 gt pro. The exhaust sound is a lot better too. I found my 800 tiger had high frequency vibes, which gave me white finger. Each to his own.....
@fazerstorm-oap Same here. Old tiger I had was buzzy un cruise speeds, and the low-end torque was weak and didn't give any thrill. It was exceptionally reliable, tho
Just bought a 23 GT Pro Explorer & I must say I absolutely love this bike. Engine, brakes, sus all fantastic. The dealer had it marked down thousands & Triumph had 2500 off as well, that I drove 2hrs to go get it. It was actually priced lower than the GT Pro. This is my very first time in 20+ yrs of riding owning a Triumph with a triple & I really like it.
I ride my Rally Explorer off road, that's what I bought it for. Love the way the engine burbles down low & have no issues with vibration. I typically ride around 400km easily in a day. I do get tired of youtubers claiming adventure bikes are not used for the purpose we buy them for, off road adventures.
I just rode my 23 1200 GTE 1550 miles and 5 days straight up the coast highway from California to Washington. My butt never bothered me, and neither did my hands. I do stay off of freeways when possible, but the vibration level was fine for me. One run through the gears at full chat with the quick shifter and anything else didn't matter. This baby howls! Oh, btw, I got it as a demo but sold with full wty for about 60% of msrp.
I am still not upset with my 23 tiger Explorer purchase in July of last year. These changes are so tiny I’d still go buy another 23 at the discounted prices. Like others have said, I am a little pissed off they discount of the bike so much after I purchased it at retail but what are you going to do. i’ve added so many aftermarket parts. Now it’s better than the 24 model all day.
I’ve got the 2022 explorer GT and it’s fantastic . The new upgrade to allow adjustment of suspension at lower speed is a real help. PROBLEM is the ability to get the bike into and off the centre stand. It might be me but the pivot point and height seems to cause a lot of difficulty in getting the bike set in the stand. I’d appreciate any thoughts or advice. Bob
Right foot on the stand, right hand pulling upright on the pillion footrest. Should do the job. Cheers. Btw, mine is the GT Pro. A bit lighter and easier, I guess.
When I test rode the 2023 model the tubing on my right dug into my knee a bit and could feel it so think moving the peg might alleviate or exasperate it. Found the bike to be very light feeling compared to very top heavy 900 and easier to get of the side stand.
Great review as usual and you’re right that the overwhelming use of adv bikes is on the road. With that in mind a lot of us tour tour 2up so what’s lacking with all the RUclips reviews is …. What are the bikes like in comparison 2up with luggage which is how they will be used. I have a GSA, but the rear seat on the new 1300 is even causing my wife concern if we wait on the new GSA. BMW Club UK magazine recently likened the gs1300 pillion seat to a stool and it is 3 inches narrower than the 1250 pillion seat. The new 1300 is a brill bike and now suits shorter riders , it’s more adventure sport touring than adventure in looks in fact the panniers would not look out of place on an RT. These changes to Triumph are now making it a strong contender. Cheers
Some nice updates on the bike here, but they over focus on the engine or maybe its just the way it comes across. To be fair I have only test ridden (not owned) the 900 and 1200 (2023 bikes) and I didn't notice the vibration, maybe I didn't ride long enough, but i am used to twins so maybe I think vibration is normal. Like the new colour options.
Can they update the Speed Twin please, update the LCDs with TFTs and add an optional QS with some rider aid possibly, and maybe an RS model, and ofc, a LED headlight.
Rode the Tiger 1200 recently when looking to replace my R1250GS. I really wanted to go for the Triumph, it’s a great bike but riding it back to back with the BMW I could not get past the vibey almost lumpy feel of the engine. These updates are upmost an admission that using the T plane crank on this bike was a mistake.
As the owner of Tiger 800 XCR, KTM 990, KTM 1290 SA, Honda African Twin, Honda ATAS, and finally 2023 Triumph Tiger 1200 Rally Pro I have logged many miles on bikes that are in this class albeit with the obvious exception of the BWM GS. The T Plain crank is a great compromise giving some feedback in lower revs and much better tractability down low, with a trade off of some higher RPM vibrations. Ergonomics and seat comfort are both excellent and bar risers are not needed which I put on my other bikes. Missing technology that is still not included on the updated 2024 model and would be advantageous is anti dive front suspension when in touring mode and linked braking. My KTM 1290 had both of these and it was nice. The steering stabilizer was also standard equipment on the 1290SA, and has been added to my African Twins, but the big Tiger doesn’t seem to need it. Very happy with the 2023 model and would be reluctant to trade it in even if offered t new 2024 version as an even swap. Probably going to put Dunlop Trailmax Missions on as my next tires. Wore out the stock METZELER KAROO STREET rubber that came with the bike and replaced that with some BRIDGESTONE BATTLAX ADV TRAIL AT41 but these are a bit too road oriented for me to have confidence fully loaded when on dirt roads. Rubber is by far the biggest variable in how the bike will handle. Always willing to trade off some pavement performance that the 19” front wheel would offer to get the advantages of a 21” front when off road. That said the difference in street handling on the Tiger’s 21” wheel is less noticeable than on the other 21” wheeled bikes I own. Another reason that the Tiger 1200 Rally Pro platform is so impressive. New 2024 models of Rally will only be available in US in the Explorer version with the big tank. Prefer the standard tank size for ergonomics , esthetics, and a lower CG weight etc. With the efficiency of the Tigers engine I am getting enough range not to regret this choice. On my KTM 1290 SA I got only 34 mpg on the highway so its 8 gallon tank was depleted pretty quickly.
I've had my Rally Explorer for 17 months. I dont seem to have any issues with vibrations at highway speeds here in Oz. I guess that might have to do with our maximums which are 110kph. At that speed its ticking over a little under 4k. I find the vibes dont get noticeable till about 6k, at which speed I am usually overtaking someone to get back into my 'safe space'. Off road, when you're in that 5 - 8k range, the last thing I notice are the engine vibes as an annoyance. In fact, 'feeling' the engine is, IMHO, the best way to know if you're using the engine 'correctly' (torque, speed, tractibilty, control). In short, highway speed vibes are not an issue I have noticed and off road I find the 'feel' of the engine is a great assistance.
Well scratched that 1200 off my list.. 900 rally pro still in top of my list 😂 shouldn’t have to remove a fuel tank to see if an air filter needs to be replaced or not.
Thanks Bob. The T plane just becomes an engine that just doesn’t work when sitting at a constant speed for mile munching and was the only reason that stopped me from buying one. Purely by design this new model will rhetorically improve this however it’s still the same architecture and therefore will still be noticeable. As someone who rarely takes large adventurer bikes off road (as I have dirt specific bikes for this), at 189 cm I just prefer these for the additional space and leg room. The BMW boxer sells extremely well as it has less vibration, whilst offering low down grunt. Give me the traditional 120 degree firing order any day as I would already have one.
I bought a 2012 Triumph Explorer (1200) and then sold it to buy the highly-revised 2018 Tiger 1200 XRt. When the new model came out, and they talked about the new, vibey engine, I thought, "Wait. Why?" Sounds like for 2024 they're trying to recapture the smoothness of the old engine.
After spending some time on a ‘23 1200 Rally Pro the seat contour is way off for my middle aged backside and I REALLY want the flatter saddle! The lip at the back makes cheeks fall asleep. Trying the hack with the back in the lower seat position and the front in the higher position makes the bits in front go numb after a little over an hour.. As far as the vibes, meh I did notice a little mirror shake but only at certain gear and speed briefly. My old 85 Yamaha Venture Royal was a V4 shaft drive and it made my hands feel numb but I not so far on the Rally Pro but I haven’t done several continuous hours interstate miles yet.. an hour no problem or signs of that and 3 hours of mixed hwy, gravel, expressway was fine. Except that dang seat!!
My 1200 GTPRO is a huge leap up from my trade-in 800 XCX. Looking at the tiny changes I'm glad I got mine in December last year for £11000.. Have a go on one before letting some comments and reviews persuade you it's a dud.
The vibrations of the T-Plane are amusing to me. They are not even there if you are not anal about everything. Was one of the reasons I went for the Rally Pro. At least the got rid of annoying whine and whistle of the previous generation, regular inline triple.
Seems like we who bought the 2023 GT Explorer aren’t actually on a loss.. we already have the shock and dampened risers.. also, I got a €5000 discount with panniers and I honestly don’t think it vibrates that much so that I feel it’s worth €5000 for some less vibrations 😅 Here’s the deal to all of you cross shopping the GS and Tiger.. Ride them both.. They are so similar but immensely different that someone who loves the GS would never buy a Tiger.. And someone who loves the Tiger would never consider a GS.. They’re made for different riders
I have the previous Gen 1200 GTPRO, which personally i find engaging, under that Tech. Vibes?.. Don't really have an issue, although, due to a non bike injury, i have been away from riding, for around 8 months. Just recently returned. I do however, have an issue with the screen, regarding buffeting, and far too much road noise, from the current issue in tyres.
I am with you on the T-plane crank thing. I had a Tiger 800 and loved it. I went into the dealer ready to swap to a 900. Handed him the spec I wanted, then went for a test ride. I loved the look but hated the vibes. It felt like the main bearings were going! The dealer was most put out when I said I didn't want one. I bought a new Multistrada 950. It sounds crazy, but it is smoother than a Tiger 900! Triumph have lost one of their strengths in my opinion.
why anyone does not talk about the shaft knocking feeling and sound issue. when I tested it that bike, especially in city rides always gave me that feeling and sound while gas on/off
It's horses for courses, the Tiger is a bike for those who like the triple's character, vibes are a part of riding on many bikes, the current Tiger shed kilos over the previous 1215 engine bike, the T Plane crank was a choice were a 270o crank would have been better around.
I really love my pan am special but I gotta say I’m probably in lower percentage of people who actually do ride offroad and I’m not talking gravel I’m talking black bear pass and the so on so forth more hardcore problem is I do have to travel across the US to get to the places I love to ride the 8 gallon tank is what drew me towards the triumph aswell as also having the 21 inch front wheel I do wish the tiger had adaptive cruise control I just don’t understand why they wouldn’t have it however I will tell you I absolutely love my pan am I just wish I had a little more tech a 21 inch front but the zero valve train services is like stupid nice probably gonna wait for the GSA1300 with 8 gallon tank
Is there anyone brave enough to say that GS has some week points. First gerar like tractor, limited rev, short geras , week sound etc... It is a great bike but seems that noone does not dare to point out GS flaws and say anything against the 'best engine in the world', which is driven both by those who know what an engine is and by those who have no idea.
My 2022 Rally Pro is me third 1200 Tiger, having had a Gen 2 and 3 previously, for the life of me I just don't get why people get all bent out of shape regarding vibration, its just not a thing. Sure its not as silky smooth (some might call dull) as the old engine, a point some journalist may have made and people have just latched onto this, what is it they say about "give a dog a bad name"? I've covered many thousands of miles on mine touring around europe and the UK and not once have I encountered intrusive vibrations but love the character of the new T-plane engine. And to top it off, Triumph don't charge you extra for the suspension lowering feature, looking at you BMW.
3:33 That right there tells you all you need to know. They are obviously in denial and suggest the engine with the T Crank from day one was "smooth & refined" 🙄. They are so full of 💩. #Triumph , just accept you messed with a good thing you had going on before and ruined it trying to make it "better" . . . just bring back the 120* crank, everyone makes mistakes. And while you're at it . . . build us a Tiger 1200 "SPORT" with 17" cast wheels like the last (2013-2021) 1050 Generation. MOTOBOB, thanks for always delivering ! You're always on top of the motorcycle news game ! 👌😎👍
Well, at least it's more than "Bold New Graphics," If only a little. I have a 2023 Rally Pro. The only thing I really disliked where NVH was concerned were the OEM Karoo tires that are annoying AF once you get to 65 mph. If they wanted to keep things "off Roadish," there had to be any number of better options. Vibes? My mirrors are fine, though I did swap the OEM ones for Doubletakes. To see Triumph contorting themselves over the minor updates to counter the engine vibes is rather amusing considering all the BS they spewed about how cool the T-Plane crank was out the gate. I would like to know more about the clutch update. For a big torquey engine w/ a ton of power, I can't recall a bike that was easier to stall if you let your attention lapse. It requires what I consider silly amount of throttle to get it going reliably. I can only assume that it's a result of some facet of the Euro 5 emissions BS. I previously owned a 2017 Trophy w/ the previous version of the 1200 engine and it was comparatively a tractor coming off idle. Short of outright negligence, you were hard pressed to stall it. A new clutch lever was probably unnecessary. The 2023 seat is decent for an OEM seat, if not terrific. I went on a 2800 mile trip last June, and it wasn't really an issue. If it needs improving, I'll go to an upholstery shop.
Good info and great vid. However I believe Triumph made a serious mistake with this newer gen Tiger. All for what? A little more torque? Sorry my ‘18 1200 XRT is still the bomb, smooth as silk, single sided swing arm making tire changes a breeze and enough bells and whistles to keep me happy. Sometimes evolution takes a wrong turn and this is a good example.
The main issue i have with the tiger 1200 is the noisy screen. The bmw r1300gs screen is much quieter. This really matters if you are planning on riding it into Europe, you are going to spend hours on the motorway and autobahn.
I was hoping for way more interesting updates. To be honest I am seriously looking at the 2023 with the massive discount here in Australia. No bike is perfect and unless it’s like riding a jackhammer I think 23 model will be great. They look fantastic in the flesh I think.
This is EXCELLENT!! The #1 complaint about the Tiger1200 is how vibey the engine is. Looks like this new model has been worked to make it as smooth as possible! If that's the case, this motorcycle should be flawless! A real GS killer
The T plane really isn’t that bad at all, it rides very similar to the pan America V-twin and no one complains about vibes on that. Triumph owners are just spoiled because the previous Tigers were so good lol. Maybe they should have just boosted the older gen in capacity to about 1000 and 1400 respectively and tuned for torque
They shouldn't complain. It's a damned V TWIN, FFS. It would be the same as someone saying they owning an apartment on the Sun sucks because it's too hot there. 🙄🤦♂ I-3 are not V TWINS, I-3 have always been butter smooth. If you want throb and thud go buy a lumpy V TWIN.
I have noticed on my youtube feed that a lot of videos about motorcycles, be it review video or promotional videos made by various vloggers features similar thumb nail with that of Motobob's. It makes me double take on that vid before clicking it.
The flatter seat ✅, the existing seat on my GT Pro slides you right into the tank crushing one’s testicles which is very unsatisfactory. Engine updates I feel neutral about these, the vibration just isn’t an issue (for me), but the clutch updates ✅ will make things a lot better it isn’t the best. Raising the foot pegs for more lean and more knee ache 👎 really bad move, the bike is a tourer A reasonable mid model refresh
Dear MotoBob i liked your review of Triumph Tiger Motorcycles.I think Triumph Motorcycles are growing with their Featuristic Engineeeing of it's Capabilities in Producing Amazing Motorcycles in the world 🎇
I don't know why Triumph overcomplicates things! The original 3 cylinder engine was a GEM! Want more torque? Increase the displacement!!!. Why taking this convolute route with T plane phases, balancing and so on?? Also...a 150 rear tire with 148 horses?
I rode the current 1200 Rally Pro Explorer for a day, and I did not think it was that vibey. Have bike riders suddenly gone soft? I prefer the Tiger 1200s look much more over the Beemer, and at least it still has a proper tail light with grab rails. And an engine that does not sound like a Boomer's fart.
You could see the engine modifications as a positive with Triumph reacting to customer feedback, or on the other hand as an admission that they’d got the original T plane crank a bit wrong. Or that they’d released the original engine too soon before the development work had been completed. Personally I don’t think this change reflects well on Triumph 🇬🇧
Am I the only one that thought the exhaust sounded like crap when he revved it? I watched a vid of a 2017 1200 before this and it sounded SO much better… almost turbine like…
As per usual most of the comments re: the t plane cranked 1200 are from keyboard warriors who haven't even ridden one. I have one and find it fabulous, yes there are some very small vibes but they never bother me and are not at all intrusive and that intake howl when accelerating is addictive.
I owned the rally pro for 6500km and 5 months, I had to sell it out of desperation because it had too many electronic and mechanical problems, the engine is terrible because the torque reaches too high and is not very usable. I replaced it with KTM 1290 SAS MY2022 which is better in every area of use. The tiger1200 remains the worst bike in the big adv bike segment, which is why they sell few of them.
For the style I ride I am really looking for a better option then the BMW. I will ride the MS v4 and the Tiger 1200. But then…june 1300 gsa probably. Difficult but next year I decide 😊
They lifted the foot pegs to make a sportier handling, less comfortable bike. But they neutered the feeling right out of the engine and took away its character and soul. What sense does that make?? Those two things seem to contradict eachother.
They messed up big time with the vibey engine..I had the 900 rally pro ..started of as a love affair ..ended up as I couldn’t ride it more than 20 mins ..was never gonna gamble on the 1200 with the same 270 crank ..went all in and got a GS ..and I am a bit of a Triumph fanboy..they are admitting that they messed up with both the upgrades to 900 and 1200 mainly dampening engine vibes
I tried the 1200 last year for demo. Very comfortable bike. But engine barks alot, vibrates alot, and struggles in low revs and hi revs. That T-plane engine is a weird one. Its not good at anything then sound and vibrations. Engine stutters and doesn't like it riding in slow speed and low revs. And at hi-revs it completely dies above 7000rpm but redlines at 12 000. Great motorcycle but engine is a complete joke. Triumph should consider start buying solid engines from Suzuki, Kawasaki that have incredible low end grunt and you can rev the pants out of them inline 4 every day of the week.
I describe my 23 RP, after 4K miles, like riding a hammer. If you are going to take it off road …okay. But if you aren’t, don’t buy it. Also it has a face that only a mother can love. 😅 I won’t buy another.
I really don’t get this vibration rubbish. I’ve owned my Rally Explorer from new in 2022 and it doesn’t have any more vibrations than any of my previous bikes. It’s the same kind of bandwagon people jump on, like the “latest iPhone gets hotter than the sun” blah blah blah. I bet half these people haven’t even ridden them.
I had the prevoius Tiger 1200 xplorer and now I have the 1200 GT PRO for me now is perfect
Looks so much better than the BMW equivalent. King regards from Catalonia!
If you want to make everyone happy, don't build motorcycles, give away free ice cream.
I love the way my Gt Pro rips in the mid range, less vibes on the motorway can only be a good thing though. Mind you, they are not a major problem.
Cheers
I am not sure if triples don’t have vibes. I know for a fact that 6 cilinders are perfectly balanced. Grip puppies should solve the vibes…
That's the way I think! And I loved the sound of the old 3 cylinder!
All the Triumph bikes are sweet, but please build a new Sport Touring Bike like all the others are building. Sprint 1200 with the drive shaft.
If only ....
They should of offered two engine options T plane in Rally and standard in the GT
Would love to see the T-plane in more 3 cylinder bikes. All the grunt and character of a twin, but the top end of a normal triple
Test rode a new ( 2023 ) Tiger 900 and it definitely vibes more than my Tiger 800, enough so that I'm staying the 800 for now.
I actually like the vibes of the T crank. Very happy with my GT Explorer after 20,000 miles. The new GS is a munter!
Looks so much better than the BMW equivalent
Someone who gets it.👍
We want the tripple back!
where is the stelvio review? it seems embargo was raised today in Italy
Is the air filter still under the fuel tank to require its removal to see if filter is dirty after riding a gravel or dirt road?
YEP
She's a beaut'! Thanks @MOTOBOB for the meaningful content. [edit] That Tiger purring... nice!
Why dont triumph fit variable valve timing or shift cam
For me, the hefty beast means it’s the garage / parking lot manners that ought to be addressed; reverse assist wouldn’t hurt.
The same type of people who complain about road noise from an off road tire on a truck/suv.
Ditch the Tplane.
They lift the footpegs, allowing more ground clearance, making it more uncomfortable.
I assume the 2024 GS is also ahead, in leaps and bounds when it comes to price? ⬆ And not in a good way?
GT PRO equivalent well north of £20,000, GS holds its value better though…
I ride BMW, but test rode a Triger 1200 and considering Triumph more and more.
Why the height control is not automated?
Maybe they will have the low suspension and low seats like bmw 1250 and ...fix the vibration in the 1200 triumph a lot of vibration
Somehow I get the feeling the same adventure models get rereleased everytime. Only adventures and low cc bikes get attention lately.
What sells and pays the bills gets ALL the attention . . . sadly.
I wish it had radar safety which i don’t think they do right?
What bikes do you have sir?
Bristolian ?
Possiedo GT esplorer 2023 e adesso appena arriva prendere la GT esplorer 2024 a occhi chiusi, xme traiumph è la migliore
Is there anyone brave enough to say that GS has some week points. First gerar like tractor, limited rev, short geras , week sound etc... It is a great bike but seems that noone
does not dare to point out GS flaws and say anything against the 'best engine in the world', which is driven both by those who know what an engine is and by those who have no idea.
“glaring strength”!😂
Try a WRS wind screen..
5 cm higher and 4 cm wider..
@@petrosmarkantonakis308 have you tried the screen? Is it less noisy at motorway speeds?
Try a WRS new one !!!
Yes its much better than the stock One !!!!!
I-3 are not V TWINS, I-3 have always been butter smooth.
If you want throb and thud go buy a lumpy V TWIN.
Head lamps must be bad ass in this bike ... Otherwise sale goes down.
Haven't seen a 2024 model in the USA yet...dealers are acting like they don't know why...anyone have the scoop on this?
Anti-dive system is where:)
I'll never understand companies putting fugly colors on their top of the line models while giving the base models a great color like the Cardinal Red.
Raising the foot pegs for more lean and more knee ache 👎 really bad move, the bike is a tourer
A reasonable mid model refresh
Get tank grips to save your testicals 😁
Dear MotoBob i liked your review of Triumph Tiger Motorcycles.I think Triumph Motorcycles are growing with their Featuristic Engineeeing of it's Capabilities in Producing Amazing Motorcycles in the world 🎇
I don't know why Triumph overcomplicates things! The original 3 cylinder engine was a GEM! Want more torque? Increase the displacement!!!. Why taking this convolute route with T plane phases, balancing and so on?? Also...a 150 rear tire with 148 horses?
They wanted to play "ME TOO" and " feel special".
They were special enough as is but apparently that's wasn't enough for them.🙄
Prefer smooth engine, it won't see dirt.
lifting the footpegs up higher i think is a bad move .
👍
I rode the current 1200 Rally Pro Explorer for a day, and I did not think it was that vibey. Have bike riders suddenly gone soft? I prefer the Tiger 1200s look much more over the Beemer, and at least it still has a proper tail light with grab rails. And an engine that does not sound like a Boomer's fart.
Engineering a vibrating motor
You could see the engine modifications as a positive with Triumph reacting to customer feedback, or on the other hand as an admission that they’d got the original T plane crank a bit wrong. Or that they’d released the original engine too soon before the development work had been completed. Personally I don’t think this change reflects well on Triumph 🇬🇧
gt pro is way too go
Am I the only one that thought the exhaust sounded like crap when he revved it?
Interesting they admit they messed up the clutch and have redesigned, on my 2023 I am on my second one. I figured there must have been a design flaw.
I describe my 23 RP, after 4K miles, like riding a hammer. If you are going to take it off road …okay. But if you aren’t, don’t buy it. Also it has a face that only a mother can love. 😅 I won’t buy another.
The pre 2020 engine had more low torque.

Looks like a scooter.
Ha! They kept the horrible, laggy, useless display as it is huh...
Lol bat mans dad black
Ugliest sounding bike ever
I wouldn’t trust Triumph. British trashy bike.
