  • Just a Little protection can go a long way. I was looking at buying some of these chaps while I was doing a lot of sawing. After watching Pete from Cheap Homesteading do his chain saw test I pulled the trigger and bought these Husqvarna Technical Chaps. and Here My Take on them. Just a little bonus footage at the end had a little close call with the MUD.

    About 20 years ago, before chaps were commonly available, I was careless with my chainsaw and sliced my thigh open, just after I had finished cutting for the day, or so I thought. The saw grazed my leg as I finished, and I looked down and blood was soaking through my cut-up blue jeans. Instead of rushing to the doctor, I put on a few band-aids and a pair of dark blue chino pants, then stopped by the doctor for stitches, and went on to a concert in my small, rural town, a once-in-a-lifetime concert show-casing a big name star from the west coast and the past. The dark blue pants didn’t show the blood, and I am glad I got to see and hear the west-coast star from the past. We all make choices, and in thinking about it, I wish I had had the chaps on - I almost cut my leg off because I was not careful enough, but I go pictures of the star!

    • @mtrunk8570
      @mtrunk8570  6 лет назад

      Well at least you didn't miss the concert lol! That could have been way worse, thanks for your story. I will be wearing this during my cutting operation for sure!

    Thanks for sharing. You can never be too safe. I was using a band saw yesterday, yeah, was careless the my knuckle was a hit... Could have been a lot worse but I learned a valuable lesson... I use a saw, don't use chaps but I know I should....

    I grew up in a home heated by firewood, and helped with getting more every year. All it takes is one slip with an axe or chainsaw to cause a serious injury. I'm glad you're staying safe out there! Thorns are such a pain when you only have bluejeans on, good point! #36

    I like these, and when you say "chaps," I think of a group of Englishmen - LOL... also, I might be able to use a weed eater with the "attachment" option to place a brush wacker thing on it... looks like it could handle the brush I need to clear!

    I wore out a set of Stihl chaps, decided to go with the Huskys for a change of pace, and also liked the wrench pocket. Only complaint I have is I had to rip the closure straps off one leg and re-stitch them so the Fastex buckles could be buckled on the outside of my leg where they belong. Have no idea why Husky stuck them on the inside of the leg, and only one leg. Good design other than that.

    Hey I have the same tractor and am looking to get new tires for it.. It looks like the tires you are running are wider than mine. Do you mind sending me the info on the size tires on the tractor in this video? any help/ info would be appreciated! Thanks!

    • @mtrunk8570
      @mtrunk8570  5 лет назад

      I don't have access to the tractor at the moment but these tires are industrial tires sounds like you have the ag tires. We like the industrial tires better seems to make less ruts when working in yards and pastures. The downside is less traction in muddy situations. I have a small tractor with these tires I can get you a brand name.
