Had exactly the same thing on a Disco 2.7, was sold to me cheap as garage told the owner it was toast, picked up for a dime and £21.00 pipe from ebay fixed it. It now has a new owner who uses it as their daily drive and 1 yr in they are pleased as punch 🙂
Our 2017 Kia Sorento would not accelerate above 40 mph and after Kia dealership including their master tech looked at it they couldn't fix it after saying they did. Our car had a similar code but was for the MAF sensor. I decided to have a look under the bonnet and noticed the air inter cooler was damaged and bowed. Guess what the fault was ? Yep the inter cooler which was replaced under warranty. When collecting our car my wife asked the service department "when does my husband start working for you ?" she also added " your master tech is useless...." Main dealer garages often aren't the best.
I just subbed to your channel mate - I’m looking at getting into a 2006-2023 L322 soon and I’m just mopping up all the owner vids Yours was quite informative
I had the same problem with my 2009 Mercedes C200 (also a diesel). One of the intercooler hoses had split and the part was a reasonable price (just over £60) from the dealer who had it on the shelf. My 2003 Volvo XC90 (another diesel) was smoking with some loss of power but I wasn't as lucky as I was with the Merc as it needed a turbo rebuld, a new interooler and a new solenoid for the turbo actuator. I spent about £1200 and it runs a lot better and is more responsive.
Good video with effective diagnosis and end result. A v8 diesel breathes A LOT of air, so if I might, I would suggest you change the air filters (2 on this engine I think?) and clean the MAP sensor to give the car its best possible chance of running well.
Add two stroke oil to the fuel at 300 to 1 ratio will stop all black exhaust issues , make engine quieter and smoother. Ordinary two stroje oil and NOT synthetic type. Used it for years on my V70 D5
@@THEG12EG cheers but I realise not everyone has a smoke tester but squirting a bit a bit of easy start is the cheapest and easiest and also it works 😀
I did 179,000 miles in one of my L322's and having done so I realise that those pipes are actually consumables! Also, I suspect that Land Rover make the brake pipes from the metal Alfa Romeo reject 😂
Sad to say, but next week it will be something else, alternator gone, ac going, wheel bearings, window winders - you'll get good at repairs, it'll become an every weekend situation, then... hate them.
Don’t worry it’s a Range Rover so it will broken again soon and that’s from a mechanic that now feels like a Land Rover Range Rover specialist as they are broken that much good luck bud
Fascinating how the current trend in the uk is to sound like you have a slight speech impediment........."fink" "fhree" etc 😂😂, oh well it used to be everyone used to try and sound like they came from a essex council estate......ffs
Nothing more satisfying than a DIY fix 👍
100% agree!

@@Dave-in-France Thanks, may just get a service done soon!
Many years ago, our local Jaguar dealer would drive the XK engines round in 2nd gear to "clear them out" as few owners really gave them "the beans"!
Had same issue on 3.6 v8
Went to a number of garages thinking it was egr valves or turbos.
Fortunately swapped hose and cheap fix
Nice easy fix!
Nice vid, good presentation

Had exactly this issue with my L320-split hose.New one fitted by main agent transformed the car.
Had the same problem with my L322 and I put super Diesel fantastic results
Smoke test or spray easy start where you might suspect a hose the revs go higher if theirs a leak
Exactly what I was thinking smoke test for boost leak

Shaking is a LUC issues on the torque converter. Do a gearbox oil service and stick in 2 tubes of dr tranny shudder fix. Job done 😊
In this case it was just the split, all fixed no juddering at all now.
What is LUC?
@@johnrichardson4583think he means LUK the clutch manufacturer.
Hi I’ve got a 2008 Range Rover sports 3.6l diesel I’m trying to have an engine swap can you please advice which bmw engine is best compatible?
Great story and great fix or £60 - though I was a little disappointed to see the price of the scan tool at £699 !
did you change the plates on the silver polo?
Great fix I’m all for diy on car
Congratulations on the fix , you must invest in the cars future by changing all of the fluids 👍
What a great video, thank you
Fantastic work well done! ❤It 👍
@@miketherefurbisher8000 thanks!
Is there an interior light hanging from the roof at the rear 😂😂😂
Well done
It is definitely worth owning the diagnostic gadget if you have one of these cars. They generally pay for themselves very quickly.
Might be worth treating it to some additive and going for a long drive!
As this is a new video, can I ask what your insurance is for it please
Have you got the gearbox service done yet?
@@robertwalker1742 Nope, as all seems fine now. But as precaution I will do it at some point.
I would have patched the old hose first just to prove the diagnosis first?
There known to blow you should have new 1s in the boot ud buy 2 for 60 on line
Loves Rangies ❤
Could be too much engine oil.
Nice to see you get your hands dirty😂
I love this vehicle, my dream car.
You'll get one!
just needs taxing and ask around 5k-6k. nice one.
How many miles again?
124k
What a fantastic cheap fix
Very happy!
Why all the back ground music in these videos ???????

If my 1975 Alfasud was anything to go by, they weren't made from metal...
Duck tape and sell on😂
If in stock
Common fault
A carbon clean with them 2 turbos i would not do ud only push crap into a known problem with that engine there turbos
AnythinK!!!

Since when has £59 been acceptable for rubber hose? I know mian dealers scam the public but that is a hose to far.
If you think £59 for an intercooler hose is excessive, wait till you see the cost of some of the coolant hoses.
You had better hope that the next fix only costs £59... and the next one....and the next one.....
