    Hub motor silence works for me, you can hear birds in the spring and cars about to rear end you...

    I agree, a DD hub amd full programmable system is essential. Will do 100k miles before the 15 dollar main bearing change

    Nice find, great looking bikes and very promising. As you said, the price will dictate if they're a good value or not given all the options out there.

    If I could choose any powertrain I want I would go with a hub drive for endurance and a secondary small mid drive just to help with acceleration and a front cassette.

    • @lewisedwardson7776
      @lewisedwardson7776 7 месяцев назад

      Might be worth going awd, with a small front hub motor geared for torque, to help with acceleration. If it's a motor that you're not going to be running nonstop, just using to help accelerate, then the low battery efficiency of a hub drive motor isn't going to hurt much, since the rear motor is what's going to be running most of the time. Additionally, since you're only going to be running it part-time, you may be able to push higher peak wattage through your front motor than it's rated for, without having to worry about heat, since it's never going to be running for very long at a time without a break.

    I've built my own full suspension 3000W hub drive 72V Ebike for $1500, and it's half the weight of a Surron.

    • @SeemsLegal
      @SeemsLegal 8 месяцев назад +2

      Sorry but I find that very hard to believe unless your 72v battery is tiny like under 10 amp hours and your bike frame is full carbon fiber (which I'm guessing it's not for $1500)

    • @lewisedwardson7776
      @lewisedwardson7776 7 месяцев назад

      @@SeemsLegal I have a feeling he thinks Surrons weigh more than they actually do. Surrons are only 124 lbs, so half that is 62 lbs. Technically still possible.
      There are some street bikes on Amazon in the $200-500 range that weigh only 20-25 lbs, let's say he picks one that's 22 lbs for like $300. Rear suspension adds 1 lb and $30-60, front suspension adds 3 lbs and $50-100, now we're talking 25 lbs or so. A 2000W hub motor can be safely run at 3240W (72V 45A) easily, that's 15 lbs and $220. Controller is another 2 lbs and $50-80. 72V 20Ah battery is 18 lbs and $500. Now we're looking at 60 lbs, the remaining 2 lbs is eaten up by the display ($50-100), cables and various knickknacks (to use the technical term) and that's $1300 and 62 lbs.
      So, it's cutting it pretty close, and I have a feeling his full-suspension bike weighed more than 25 lbs since I'd feel sketch putting that much power through something that lightweight, but I think any bike with net weight under 70 lbs can get away with bragging rights for "half the weight of a surron" even though the exact halfway point would be 62 lbs.

    Nice bikes. I like the one with the pedals. I should be getting my new Goat Power bikes in a couple weeks 60v 20ah with a 50 amp controller. They are also bringing out a 72v 30ah battery much like the E ride pro similar price point. Should be out for pre-order sometime in January.

    What's the point of an ebike this powerful? The pedals are vestigial at this when you approach something like this. Why not just get a Surron or Talaria?

    I say go even further, why not have 2 hub motors and a mid-drive on there for a 3 motor setup. If you're feeling really crazy you could tow around a couple of 200amp batteries in a baby trailer and add 2 external large training wheels with hub motors in them and have 5 motor setup. As far as global warming is concerned, no one ever asked us the question "Do you want global warming?" I say yes! I say it's not going fast enough! They've been promising for decades we'd be Tatooine in Star Wars by now and it still hasn't happened. I'm old enough to remember the "Global cooling" scare of the 70's as a kid after only a few bad winters. Hell at this pace we'll only get to the Medieval warming period levels in hundreds of years. The Holocene period where the great empires arose, the Romans, Greeks, Persians, etc. Hell that may take thousands of years at this rate or not all all. I want to do my part for global warming so we can all ride our bikes year round. Do I have to light more tires on fire? Do I need to do more slash and burn agriculture? I turned out the mixture screws on my motorcycle out a quarter turn and drive around a lot the day after Earth day(f$ck the earth day, look it up). We need to get this ball rolling. I'm freezing my ass off every winter as I work outside WITH a heated vest and gloves in the winter -20C or not. You have to ask yourself "Are you doing your part for global warming?" They got me sold. Great video brother.
