A song that isn't in Folklore but is just as emotional are Taylor's songs about cancer, Soon You'll Get Better is about her mom who had cancer and has brain tumor.. Another song is Ronan is about a boy named Ronan who died of cancer. I always hate it when people only associate Taylor for her break up songs and catchy pop songs that gets played over and over again on radio and everywhere, can't really blame them, they're only hearing the tip of the iceberg, but she's capable of so much more, she's an amazing songwritter and an even more amazing human being.
Hello! Yes, the poppy hits are what are on the radio and sell but I'm delighted to learn about this other side of Taylor. Another person also suggested these tunes and it'll be tough, but I'll be listening to them sometime soon. Thank you for stopping by and please take care!
Hey thanks for taking my recommendation! I don’t mind if you say my name, it’s not my real name anyway 😂 (it’s not too different, I just don’t like putting myself out on the internet) Loved the reaction, I think that beat at the end is meant to signify a heart monitor. My mom works for a volunteer ambulance service and the decisions these volunteers had to make was just heart wrenching. Should they put themselves and their families at risk to help others? I totally get the connection to a war, like you really really want to stay and help your fellow soldier but you also have to remember your mission, and by leaving you might be saving more lives. My heart goes out to all those healthcare workers 💔. Keep safe
Hi! Ok, cool on the name :) Good idea about your name. Wow that's amazing of your mom to volunteer like that. I bet that is seriously tough work, both physically and especially emotionally. Thanks to her and to all of you heroes out there! Take care, "Bailey Davis" ;)
THIS SONG! My favourite, CHILLS every single time... Thanks for the reaction. EPIPHANY: starts about her grandfather (WWII vet) (the beaches, bleeding out, some things you don't speak about) them being heroes... Second half: COVID heroes (heath care, her nurse friend) (holding hands through plastic, breathe in - breathe out like a ventilator, med school doesn't teach you) she's basically praising different types of heroes, and reflecting the pain they go through while still doing their jobs (someone's mother, daughter, only 20 mins to sleep and make sense of what you've seen.) You can subtly hear what sounds like heart monitor and bombs at the end. imo Whenever I hear this song I picture soldiers, and nurses/doctors working the Covid front lines. It just hits every single time...
Thank you for this well-written and explained comment! The song does have a way of painting a picture in the mind and really touching the soul, for sure! Love it! :)
You should react to Ronan...it's a song she did about 4 year old boy named Ronan who had cancer...her mama wrote a poem after he passed away and Taylor used that to create a song(the mom is credited) also the proceeds from that song goes to her foundation that she created after Ronan died. Also keep the tissue box nearby...I breakdown everytime I hear it And soon you'll get better from lover is about her mom's battle with cancer...both songs are so hauntingly beautiful
Wow, I'll definitely need the tissues nearby. It'll probably be a hard listen for me since years ago I lost my mother to cancer. Thanks for the suggestion. The power of music is real! Take care :)
How did I sleep on this reaction? Better late than never. Nice rx. This song is beautiful. Just wondering if you got around to listening to the Taylor / Bon Iver duet called evermore, I like that a lot and he uses his falsetto on that song. I’ll assume you’ve heard the song but just in case, it was written in the same way as exile. She and Bowery wrote the song but Bon Iver wrote his entire part of his bridge this time. It’s a true story, written about 2016 when she was in a deep depression and couldn’t get out. Didn’t see the end. The counterpart to the song, many people believe, is the Big Red Machine song Renegade (ft Taylor). Another pseudo duet between Taylor and Justin Vernon. Taylor wrote the entire song, Justin does not have songwriting credits, Aaron Dessner wrote the instrumentals. It is thought to be the counterpart to the song evermore, from the perspective of Bowery who tried to help her out of her drowning in depression. I think it’s her perception of what he must have been thinking at the time. Vernon also songs backup to her on the songs Ivy and Marjorie, and plays instruments. She also sings backup on the BRM song Birch behind Justin Vernon vocals. She does not have songwriting credits. It may be one of the only songs in her career that she did not contribute lyrics to but sings backup. I can think of only one other song.
*THANK YOU* for watching this video, my friends! Please see the description for ways to support me and my channel, if you so desire. I'd be so appreciative. AND another HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who has already subscribed. More to come soon and I'd love to hear from ya here!
That's so kind of you and I appreciate you subscribing! I've been so busy with my various projects but I'm doing my best to continue putting content on the channel :)
Taylor has a few songs which I guess you could class as tear jerkers (aside from the songs about romantic love that also go there) but the songs she wrote for her mother (the Best Day and Soon You'll Get Better) get me every time when listened to in succession
please react to the story in this album about a teenage love triangle (Cardigan, August, Betty). every song was written in each person’s perspective: main chick’s (Cardigan), side chick’s (August) and the cheating guy’s (Betty) point of view
Hey there! Wow that's very interesting. I'd love to do this but I don't have as much time these days, unfortunately. 😅 I'd love to make it happen though! Thank you for stopping by :)
Really hoping for you to react to her other song from folklore faves (my tears ricochet, invisible string, august, betty, cardigan, the whole album is goood actually 😅) and also some of my faves from previous album All too well , State of Grace ACOUSTIC, holy ground BBC LIVE , The moment I knew, This love , and so so much more haha these are just some suggestions.. subscribed :)
Hey, I really appreciate you taking the time to comment, leaving your kind words and subscribing! I've been so busy but I need to get back to YouTubing! (not sure if that's a verb, but it is now) If I can find the time, I'll definitely react to some more of her vids. Thanks for the suggestions. Be well and seeya on here soon :)

The first part is ab her grandfather at war, second part is ab covid 19
Thanks for explaining that. That totally makes sense and I love the songwriting! :)
...prayers to all frontliners!
Absolutely. They need the prayers and support!

@@ZackDavidMusic sorry I didn't knew that or I wouldn't have suggested it...that was kinda insensitive of me... Extremely sorry
@@nehabhageria9877 No, don't be sorry. I'm grateful to know about music that brings these topics to light. So I'm thankful to you! :)
Really hope you keep reacting to Folklore!
I'll do my best, time permitting! :) Thanks for the encouragement!

Yes, she has some very powerful and heartfelt songs. My mom passed away from cancer so I can relate to those songs, for sure. Great songwriter!

Please react to more Folklore songs from Taylor. I think you will love it
Thank you for stopping by! I'd love to if I find the time. I love what I've heard so far :)
I enjoyed this reaction. Sad song. On a lighter note, are you a Minnesota guy? 🥤 “pop”
hahah oh my gosh, did I say "pop" or could you just tell from my accent? :) that's funny!
Glad u like the song a lot of people put this as their least favorite it's too slow and doesn't go anywhere and it doesn't build up
