I have both, and I can definitely say, they are almost even, becuase both have it's own pros and cons.. It would be nice if these companies combined all those pros of the figure and remove most of the cons. SHF have a combination of the positive articulation of both mafex and marvel legends, but the lacks the durability, while revoltech have the best articulation overall but it's like a puzzle to articulate, (also not suitable for stop motion videos) and design doesn't look realistic.

I get that, I think sometimes cons come from tradeoffs and different priorities. Revoltech seems to prioritize lots of curved lines and looking dynamic in still photos and displays. Makes sense when you think about how figures are marketed - on display, photos of displays, promo photos.

RYV looks awful. I just couldn't keep it, so I sold it. The proportions of it, and the silhouette look so off to me. The head, feet, and the stomach/pelvis region look too mismatched to each other, I couldn't stand it. I like Mafex a lot better, but it really can't do a lot of Spidey-like poses. The legs can't kick up far enough, and the heels can't get closer to the butt when the knees are bent. It can't bend forward far enough, but RYV can. You should definitely check out the new ML Amazing Fantasy Spider-Man mold (it can also be cel shaded version, or the 3-pack with Firestar and Iceman), that figure can really pose, even slightly better than Mafex could, despite its limited joints. The proportions and silhouette of ML AF Spidey look quite nice, too.

Greay points! AF sculpt looks much better, just too hard to acquire in the red and blue suit so far, and missing toe joints. Mafex strikes a good balance of sculpt and articulation, but they're maybe a little too consistent in articulation. I'd like to see them evolve a bit in the torso and legs. Do you have a definitive Spidey at the moment?

@@TheArtOfActionFigures For now, it's any mold of this Mafex 185 (comic version, and first version). Articulation leaves more to be desired, but it's still the most definitive so far.

Check out d amazings reviews of the various mafex Spider-Man figures. He’ll show you what they’re capable of. Articulation dominates the marvel legends. Maybe the certain points have more range on the marvel legends but once you put it all together the mafex spider-man’s articulation is tasty superior. I’m editing because I just remembered you did that awesome scarlet spider comparison!
