I would have been surprised to learn there WASNT a double din kit. I feel like it's a rite of passage for a good chevy
The trouble I'm running into is my stock bezel has a 4" opening and it broke up from age. The only afternoon replacement is single din with a 3.25 +/- radio opening. I'm hoping to order a replacement and the kit to cover the cutout 🤞

I have an 02 s10 blazer and watching this gives me some hope but im nervous as hell thinking about cutting out that piece in the back
Not sure if you've installed one or not yet, but you could always go rip the part from the junkyard and keep your un-modded one as spare if it really bothers you.
Just did this on my 00 ZR2 it was an easy install ( also grabbed the w650 and plan on grabbing the small amp that clips to the back of it here shortly ) thanks to your video. xD

I know this video is several years old, but after install have you had issues with the calls only coming through the right speakers. I own a 1999 S10 as well. My music plays fine through all speakers. No amp just hooked up to the unit.

Is that a single din bezel. My 03 S-10 came stock with the double din radio and the bezel broke in several places and is beyond repair. The only issue is that the only replacement I can find is for the single din factory/aftermarket radios. Can I buy one and cut/install the single din bezel and use the kit you're using to cover the cutout? What kit did you use? I'd really appreciate the help.
I wonder if there is a big difference between a 2002 and 2004 bezel. I'd love to use that Metra kit for mine.

I am having to order a new bezel anyway and I am waiting for that to arrive before I try it. Ordered the Metra unit through Amazon so if it does not work I can easily return it. I will let you know in about a week or so. The bezel is on a slow boat from China.@@joshualaird5303
Is that like face part usable for all like double din radio or is there a different one for every double din radio i dont under that actually at all like what to do. Have you changed it like you mentioned in the video and possibly reused the dash kit for your pioneer radio?

it's a Metra 95-3027, you can get it pretty much anywhere.
May I suggest you upgrading to the alpine INE-970HD. It is a very good one.

I have and 03 sonoma and need to replace the ashtray assm. do i have to take off the dash as you do with the stero or can i just go from under the dash i cant find in vids on this ?
I haven't taken out the ashtray assembly so I don't know. I would assume the lower piece would need to come off though.

So I only have one green connected, and only have one speaker putting sound out. I got the truck like this,(99 blazer) and have been wondering if i should replace the speakers or if it’s a wiring thing. Any help?

@RegSoFresh no all of the factory door speakers were blown, then i rewired the face and all was gravy man

Sonic Electronix, but you should be able to buy it about anywhere since it has been out 3 to 4 years at this point.

Yes, if you have a factory 2DIN radio, all you need in the 2DIN adapters for the 03+ S10/Sonoma.

How do you run the rca sub cable and amp wire from the radio to the amp?
I ran the power wire from the batter, through the driver side of the firewall, down under the sill panel to the back wall to the amp. The RCA's & remote wire I ran under the dash, down under the passenger sill panel to the amp.

The cover piece that goes around the radio and HVAC controls comes with a install kit.

Oh No! I have a 2000 Blazer. I did my conversion 5 years ago with a proper double-din from an Oldsmobile Bravada. That kit looks atrocious. The finish is flat, smooth, and just black. Awful!
Radio dimensions it needs?
Any double DIN radio will fit but a meda only radio that is short will be better due to dash space.
Would this work with a din and a half radio?
A DIN.5 is the factory radio size, if you want to install a DIN.5 there is no need to install this 2 DIN kit. Just find a dash kit for a DIN.5 (if you can even find them anymore) and install that. This kit converts the factory DIN.5 to a 2 DIN for 2 DIN radios.
I have this kit installed and absolutely hate it. Ive got a spare double din bezel I'm installing. Id rather finagle some brackets than have that ugly Metra bezel sticking out.
But hey, not my truck and everybody likes different things. So that's OK. Hope this video helped someone.

What’s the bypass for?
The bypass lest you do things while driving that would normally be blocked without the e-brake on.

This guy definitely shouldn't be doing car audio if he doesn't even know to disconnect the negative battery what a joke
The joke is, the only reason you disconnect the negative terminal is to take liability away from the manufacturer if something goes wrong. I've never discontinued a battery for anything automotive related except for starter and alternator replacement and I've worked on cars professionally for over 6 years.
