Yep, I do this about three to four times a year, each time I get rid of even more! I think we all bring too much back into our houses, I’m guilty of that!😮

For sure! I always find something I need to declutter!

Fantasy self stuff is HARD! I got rid of sooo many games, puzzles, scrapbooking supplies, and other miscellaneous craft items last year! I also got rid of things that I had in my clinic that I closed in 2018. I had thought maybe I'll open another one someday.... but truth is I don't want to anymore. I have another vision for the future now, and a pediatric outpatient therapy clinic is not part of that. It was a very emotional process, but ultimately healing, because I let myself finally grieve and move on. I'm embracing my right now life!
Thanks for the reminder about nail polish 😅
Have a great week Ali! ❤

Sometimes for some people laptops or computers can be something some people accumulate. I searched on the Internet where I can recycle a old laptop. I found on the Internet that Dell will take old laptops and computers and recycle it. I sent my old laptop to them. It felt great getting that item out of my home instead of sitting around taking up space.
I've been donating alot of my clothing and shoes. I'm getting into the habit to only buy clothes or footwear if I need it. I also shredded lots of my papers that I didn't need.
I see the progress I am making with having less stuff. It feels good!!! Now the items that I am keeping, are organized.

Yes! I love to hear the progress you are making! I just decluttered several old laptops. Our local dump actual recycles them as well!

I moved in October and it was eye opening. One thing I remember made me laugh. I had bought an iron , used it once and had forgotten all about it : donation pile! The hardest thing was my books. I didn't have room for an extensive library here so I boxed them up carefully and donated them. I know they will be well taken care of because Filipinos have a great respect for learning and books.

The iron! Haha. I use mine VERY sparingly. 😆

3 out of 24, clothes to try on to see if they still fit properly, a body spray that I don't like the smell of & I should clear my e-mail.

Thanks for the great reminder to let go of some unnecessary items before Christmas! I keep threatening the kids about their old water bottles, but they’re out of sight, out of mind, so I forget… but we do need to go through them!

Have you done a video of deciding how and where to sell your decluttered items? I do donate a lot or recycle items, but I feel horrible to not try to sell. What do you suggest?

    • @reallifewithali
      @reallifewithali  9 месяцев назад

I haven’t, but that’s a good idea. I donate to my local donation center (which is actually run by my church). They donate a ton of it to third world countries or people in need. I am happy to donate it to them. I know what you mean about feeling bad for not selling the item. I am still working on getting over the fact that I spent money and am “wasting” that money. It’s slowly feeling better with practice! It is helping me try to be more intentional with what I do buy!

A couple days ago I donated sheets, blankets, food and toys to the local animal shelter. I also took expired meds to the sheriff's office. Yesterday I shredded files incouding manuals. Log in information User Names and Passwords got written down and put into a fire proof safe. Today I donated genly used and brand new with tags clothes, gently used shoes, personal care items (teeth, body, hair & period products) and school supplies to the homeless students in our school district. I'm going through digital pictures. I have thousands on my phone..

Do you ever think about those people that are watching your videos, and they just feel so bad because you have so much and they have nothing. And you just make them feel worse by the second. When all the things you are telling them to throw away and just get rid of it, because what you are suggesting they throw away isn’t good enough, but that’s all they have.

Ali comes across as a kind-hearted person who is trying to help people who want help with decluttering. People who have nothing probably wouldn't choose to watch this video. I donate items that are in good condition to a church that gives them to people in need for free so there's a positive side to decluttering.

@jennyjenkins877 Thank you! I was just about to reply that I donate to my church’s thrift store, which is more than just a thrift store. I’m not going to go into detail because I don’t need to defend myself, but I just wanted to say thank you for sticking up for me. ❤️

Just because you have something of worth, doesn't mean that it has worth to you. I curated my home to have useful things in it, but I pass on the items that are no longer useful to us, so they can be used by someone else. Ali does the same. Also, if you have 'nothing', just by the title of this video alone, it should give you an idea that it's a video that maybe you should just refrain from watching, if it's going to trigger you? Please know that there are many resources out there if you need help :-).
