This is one of my favorite moments yet. I haven´t beaten this game but it sure is a heavily pack JRPG. Just looking at Cheria when I was playing made me say "Asbel you son of a bitch! Don´t you dare make a girl cry and NOW you´ve done it! God Asbel!! And whats this? Everythings okay now? Thats good :)" Cheria is just a good character for this game. Pascal makes me laugh like alot when ever she does something. Pascal reminds me of a Blazblue character Taokaka.

Had Asbel stayed in Lhant, who would've been a better teacher than Malik? He'd be dead right along with his dad so for Cheria to be mad and blame him for his dad's death is pretty stupid imo.
She's very ill, or was, i'm not sure It hasnt brought it up since she returned (Where I am) But she could've died, and he wouldve failed to protect someone else. He PROMISED her he would stay, and then left, no words, no goodbyes. It was cruel to someone who loved him. If he had stayed, he would've been find. He had unleashed that power he got when Sophie 'died', which would've come out in battle, and he would have survived. His fathers death, was a result of his actions but also everyones around his. He didnt return for many years. However his father deserved to die I fucking cried when he slapped asbel.. Abuse.
+Ashsforever I don't wanna turn this into an argument and I respect your opinion. With that being said, this isn't Dragon Ball Z. Just because you have or gain power doesn't mean you'll instinctively know how to use it. Case in point, when he was fighting that dog monster thing (idk what it was) the power/arte activated. He didn't know how he did it until a lot later. Now say he stayed and it activated the same way. Who's to say it would keep happening? I understand what you said, but Cheria was putting her feelings ahead of everything else. I don't mean to sound insensitive, but in the grand scheme of things, her feelings didn't necessarily matter since his training with Malik is what helped keep them alive. Another thing, Asbel wouldn't have been able to fight ALL of the enemy soldiers by himself even with that power (Let's be honest, Lhant's army wasn't very strong to begin with) on top of trying to make sure Cheria was safe since she had her healing powers around that time. Him staying would've actually caused her problems because the enemy would most likely exploit that fact to throw him off. Him leaving to the join the knights was a more beneficial decision than staying because he had no one to teach him how to actually fight since he never listened to his dad. But again, my intention isn't to say you are wrong or I am right. it's just that this is my opinion on the situation. Cheria should've looked at the bigger picture before blaming him for everything that happened (although, for plot reasons, he agreed that it was his fault).
Cheria Barnes is definitely selfish as she doesn't really understand why Asbel Lhant abdicated his Lordship and left the village. She doesn't realize that Aston Lhant treated Asbel with contempt as he was telling him not to see certain friends, criticizes him for helping out, physically abused Asbel for hanging around with the Prince of Windor, and then gave Hubert up for adopting even though the House of Lhant is very wealthy. That mistreatment and giving up Asbel's brother up for adoption was why he abdicated his Lordship as we wanted to use his power to protect people, not hurt those like his Father before him.
Lmao, imagine blaming someone for being abandoned. Imagine losing everyone you care about and the one person left (aside from your grandfather) leaves you without saying a word, by lying to you. Also, Asbel's motivation for leaving wasn't mistreatment from his father. He had his reasons for everything, as seen in side events but of course, he was far from perfect. Imagine having this little media literacy to think Cheria is the selfish one for being mad that someone who abandoned her comes back after seven years and pretends nothing has happened. She is allowed to feel disdain, y'all are freaks. Edit: Let's not forget that Cheria didn't even know if she could survive the next years. Y'all are *insane*
