Hey Tom, weve batteled today on Battle Royale. It was a honor to play against you, unfortunatly i ended or 4th possition i just couldnt play with that stress. Love from Poland
I used to walk past round 4 every day on my commute to work, I live 5 minutes walk north of the traffic lights in Poplar. Most excited I've been for months seeing that round. Keep up the good work Tom, your videos are such a highlight to my week in these tough times 👍
@@TaySpuckler there wasn’t any Wales and only 1 Scotland, where it was Glasgow of all places lol Of 5 rounds somehow 4 are English and 2 are London, definitely seems like the map could be a bit more random and spread out, because Wales, Scotland, England etc. all have plenty of villages and towns which are urban and would make it more of a challenge imo!
I love watching you do the UK map for the rounds where you end up somewhere I recognise! Always exciting knowing where you are beforehand and waiting for you to find it
Its always crazy when I find places I actually know on here. I live in Skipton so know Clitheroe really well, at one point when you zoomed in you could see the street where I live on the map too. I think this is the fourth time a place I know has come up on your videos and I absolutely love it! Goes to show just how small the UK really is...
That Glasgow one.. Initially I thought 'Birmingham' due to the red cladding on the tenement, then as SOON as you panned over the park, I recognised the place I've stumbled through completely drunk.. thanks mate. It's funny what the brain remembers.
Last round was crazy, when you went past the church and saw the swimming pool I recognised it as clitheroe as I’ve been camping there, great video as always
@GeoWizard, Helpful tip is you can use the W and S keys to move forward and backward by one click in relation to whichever direction you are facing. Hope it helps you when you're trying to use the mouse to no avail.
That Poplar round was such a shock for me. I'm studying spatial planning and two of my projects this term focus on the Poplar neighbourhood and after scowering the location many times on street view over the last couple of months I knew exactly where you were when the round started and I saw those 1960s council flats hahaha
I literally just finished watching your last UK speed run finish 2 minutes ago and was wondering if you would ever attempt it again and then I go to the front page and see you uploaded this. What are the chances.
Great effort. Think you were correct about getting a decent seed. I've given this half a dozen goes and at least half the rounds have been rural, some very rural.
First time I've ever seen somewhere I've lived, 13 years ago mind you! Lived on Cotterill road for 10 years, didn't recognise it at all until you turned to it haha.
I'm sure Tom already knew this but for anyone else playing UK maps: our road numbering system goes south to north, so for example A59 means we're more north of places like the Midlands, so it can help narrow down your search
Tom, it may be useful to you to know that there are pink "People Make Glasgow" signs on most bins in Glasgow. There's one right there at 5:13. They're also on bikes and lots of road barriers too
5:12 Was surprized to see this here, I used to go to Kelvin College a few years back xD Wee tip, if you ever see a big pink label on the bins, chances are you're in Glasgow. Actually if you look close it should say "PEOPLE MAKE GLASGOW" on there :)
Great video as usual! In my opinion the leaderboard should use a map with all locations of the country without photospheres... But I guess there are some benefits of using a smaller map with only good locations
I'm from Germany but lived in England for a while and i really enjoy playing the UK map. It always makes me feel kind of "homesick" though... What I'm trying to say: The UK map can be really exciting even for non-UK residents 😃 So don't worry about it.
Just had a game of Geoguesser, saw it was left hand drive which narrowed it down to Japan, looked left and saw a manhole which was decorated cool and thought Osaka. I just plonked it down and was only 12km off.
