  • The pre-work screen* is one of the first things you’ll do at Schneider trucking orientation. This screen will assess whether you can safely perform the essential functions of truck driving. Upon passing the pre-work screen, you will proceed with your orientation. *Applicable on select positions. Search for Schneider driving jobs in your area and apply: sni.jobs/ApplyYT
*The pre-work screen is not needed for the following positions, Van Truckload, Intermodal, and some Dedicated accounts.

They want drivers, but prefer if they don't pass out or cop a cardiac arrest from some pretty basic exertion. None of that looked unreasonable or particularly daunting. Most seemed a decent simulation of real world tasks a driver will actually do at least once in a while. You have to climb into a trailer to sweep it. You have to pull and push landing gear cranks. You have to duck walk under the trailer to check 5th wheel lock engagement, your brake shoes and slack adjusters. A tire chain in it's sack kind of requires those "lift and carry" test motions to find it's way to the tires.
