Fantastic and strong defense here from Max Gawn not to get drawn into the unnecessary and unhelpful argument. This is how you do it guys.

It's mental. Whatever happened to sticks and stones. People need to toughen up, if your feelings are hurt by somebody else calling you a nasty name, you need to grow the f**k up.

@@darrenjpeters ur mindset is just stupid, end of the day afl is a workplace and everyone deserves to feel safe in a workplace. your out of touch if u don't realize that in other workplaces you would be looking at loosing your job if you said shit like this. how about you toughen up and acknowledge other peoples feelings and have some empathy. "Its just a word" is a dumb argument because if that's the case it should be just as easy for tough guys like you to not say it.

Marty confuses having a rule with discretionary penalties. Give the next one 12

Marty is utterly confused about the non-structure of penalties but there’s a really simple solution to all of this.
      Don’t use slurs!

You’d lose your job in any other workplace if you used this language to a co worker

The football field is a workplace and should be bound by workplace relations. This starts at Club level, each Club and their P & C departments need to set workplace guidelines regarding what is and is not appropriate on a Football field.

I agree it’s horrible, but racism and homophobia ect is not possible to stop, it’ll never stop. Just deal with it when it happens is all we can do
