- You might want to activate youtube mode in the Sony ZVE1. Sony ergonomics used to be the worst of any camera. Sony menus were a laughing stock. Now, they lead the industry in customizability. Anyone bashing Sony for ergonomics and controls hasn't used a modern Sony camera. And the ZV-E1 is surprisingly best of all with 14 custom modes! 2 quick menus, and no awkward left hand mode dial. Most cinematic settings.

The coolest thing about Sony is they give you the battery level in percentage. Most if not all manufacturers still give you the bullcrap 3 or 4 bar indicators with random cutoff limits for each bar

You need to try this camera with the AF Laowa 10mm 2.8 (its for FF, non fishy) for vlogging. Even with the dynamic stab its still shockingly wide
It's funny how people hated on this camera when it first came out, but now they’ve switched to it. I've been a huge fan of it since day one, and I think it's the best compact camera for RUclips and content creation.

Fantastic! But does it overheat (in 4k 24p)?
I use 2 cards, one indoor one outdoor which make it like 15ish costom modes, couldn't remember exactly as they are morethan I need. This allows me pretty much use a dedicated white balance in every indoor scene (those are card base). I put only those modes that require higer bit rates to the v90 card, and rest are in the v60 card. Which also makes the file management super easy. I could also go out while post processing studio (living) videos at home at the same time. And you can save your luts on phone, those you just exported on Resolve. These luts can be baked in when in a pinch. I think this camera is way ahead compared to the others in terms of flexibility, it's shame that the early reviews didn't point it out. Some other high end cameras with two card slots cannot save that many custom modes and separate different video files in different cards based on conditions. The ZVE1 however feels like having two different cameras for me when using it indoor and outdoor.
I have been strongly considering this camera. I currently use the ZV-E10 and the auto focus isn’t the best.
Anymore hyper time lapses in your arsenal? Slow motion and fast motion is where it’s at. Really glad you found your sweet spot. Ride it until the wheels fall off!

So what about 4k 60p outside? How does the battery hold up and does it overheat? Im in florida and go to rallies. Sometimes i need 60p to slow things down a touch or 4k to zoom in. Either way it stays in the 90s. I need a camera that can shoot 4k60p 10 bit 4:2:2 color for at least 45 minutes straight in florida. Is this my "go to" camera, or should i wait for the Siv?
Then this probably isn't your camera. That's not a normal thing to shoot 45 minutes straight of 4k 60p. That's for short slow motion clips. Get the ulanzi fan or get a camera known to not have heat issues.

I have a zve10 and i use the trash button to switch between human and animal face detect.
I hardly ever use this for wildlife but sometimes i don't want it to jump between faces while keeping the autofocus
I honestly don't see the point of using the Auto Framing feature within the camera. I find it's much easier to do in post on Davinci Resolve with Smart Reframe. Plus it gives you the flexibility in the event that you didn't want the frame to move follow you around or if the framing wasn't exactly how you wanted it.
Maybe you can do a comparison video and see if it works better in camera or if Davinci does a better job.
That would take way more time.

All I want is the perfect tripod that can keep my almost perfect camera stable when I'm showing menus but other than that great content and now I'm out of breath.

What I hate about the ISO button is when you click it, you can't see the histogram at the same time. I guess you can use the zebras to judge exposure, but I like using the histogram personally. That's why I like cameras like the A6700 that have the 3rd dial so you have a dedicated ISO wheel without having to press a button.
Even though I don’t own any of the Camera you own I still watch and wait until the perfect camera arrives

A nice camera by all reports, however, living in the Middle East, with ambient temps at +35c for many months of the year; the no go for me is the overheating issue, applicable as outdoor vid shooting would be a frequent use.
Would u still recommend the ulanzi f38 system over any other if starting from scratch?

One of your fellow Canadian you tuber cousins Glenn Fricker from SpectreSoundStudios (who sent me to your channel) had the Sony ZV-E1 for his live stream for his merciless metal mix reviews. These live streams sometimes go for 3-4 hours. Only problem was the ZV-E1 would always overheat between 2-4 times during the show. 😥 It's the only deal breaker I can see. He now uses a Sony A7 IV instead.
I haven't seen it overheat yet using it outside in the sun during heat waves. I don't livestream, but if I did it would be in 1080p like a normal person :)
@@cameraconspiracies Glenn only does 1080p as well. After a bit of research, there seems to be a few suggested fixes. Tilta Cooling system fan which attaches to the back via a cage. Also running an external power via a dummy battery helps. Someone suggested the latest firmware update helped, but the jury is out on that one.

Sold my ZV-E10 and got a A7 III for a couple of events, then I'm going to sell it for the E1. What I discovered Is a redundancy of buttons, an extra weight, which is very very noticeable and some features I won't ever use (EVF, 2nd card slot). A caged ZV-E10 was perfect for me so the E1 should be too.
I liked mine too, but, it's too small. There IS a limit to how small is too small. I remember feeing this way about A6400 and A7C also. The real deal breaker was the shaky footage and the lack of EVF. Sometimes those things are just necessary.
It’s ironic that the c100 is a better studio cam than every recent mirrorless 😂

can you test if the 3d pop of the zeiss is the same on the ZVE1 when compared to A6700?

Sony is honestly the best and least cripping of all the camera companies. I find when they do cripple, it's usually because they actually had to. To use a wireless remote on a Canon camera, you literally have to go into the menu and change the shooting mode to remote. I have no idea why you need to be in a special mode just to use a wireless remote. With the Sony camera, I literally just turn on the remote and it works automatically no matter what mode I'm in.
Unless it's copper. They don't want you to have copper :D

What? After years being out, they finally just added shutter angle and C4k in the FX3 “cinema” camera, took a few updates to get LUT support even. Still no open gate or anamorphic modes. Only added a couple of options recently.
Your voice sounds like Barry White or some other famous black guys like Chef on South Park with that mic. Yes, the Sony ZV E-1is the best RUclipsr camera in existence. How about the Panny S9 or the G9ii, would they be in 2nd place? What's the colour (yes, that's the only way to spell it) science like on the Sony compared to Panny's?
Also, what about the stabe for walking around? Is the Pocket 3 still the go to?

Love this cam, with 24 and 35 GM lenses - it produces fantastic results.
p.s. I have found and excellent app Monitor+ to control the camera. Removes the need to use the screen like at all.
The only problem I face is that there is no way to switch between the modes Streaming \ USB mode \ Shooting.
You always have to unplug USB cable.

You need to check out the Camcorder Sony announced. PXW-Z200. 4k 60, 120, 1 inch sensor, 20x optical zoom, built in ND filters
this camera for gadget lover, not creator or someone focused on boobs
Told ya. If anyone is wondering if it takes good photos, it 1000% for street photography. I'd recommend you switch off the bottom touch functions so you can bang it around. Apart from the Zv-e1, I've already convinced 3 of my buddies to buy the 7artisans 35mm t2 spectrum. Everyone who bought it is genuinely shocked by what they witnessed. Also, if you have a small rig cage on it then watch out for the Dji mic 2. It doesn't fit properly, there are workarounds that fix that issue.
12mp is a little light these days for photos when other cameras have the ability to crop in from 40mp. ZV-E1 has good video specs with excellent dynamic stabilization but lots of people complain about banding when taking photos indoors due to the lack of mechanical shutter, no EVF and the screen is pretty poor resolution. Better to get the a6700 or A7cii/A7cr.
