Redmonds Salt is also sold for agricultural and animal use. If you want, you can buy it at a Feed Store in a 50 lb bag for far less per pound than the small retail containers at the grocery store.
I definitely prefer and use Redmonds, but according to the comparison graph you showed, the other salts had more trace minerals. I think the important point is to avoid table salt. T
When I found one of the ingredients in Morton's Salt is dextrose, I got rid of it. I only eat beef, bacon, butter, eggs, pork, lamb, and chicken. I season with unflavored Redmond's salt and occasionally with rosemary and garlic powder when I eat lamb and onion powder, garlic powder, and savory when I eat pork. I'm never bored.
I'd like to note that not everyone needs salt on carnivore. I was having some weird symptoms that went away completely when I quit adding salt. Headaches, dehydration, bags under my eyes, I just generally felt hungover all the time when I used to add salt. As far as I know most carnivorous animals including primitive humans do just fine without supplementing salt.
Yes, salt definitely is not a requirement on carnivore. Read the bear, Owesley Stanley's writings and he was carnivore for 47 years and did hard physical training as well without added salt.
Here in Spain, I see Redmond's is over €40 per kilo, with additive-free pure Himalayan at around €8. Commercial table salt is about €0.50 cents a kilo...carnivore on a pension ....I'll stick with the pink stuff.
I buy Redmond’s in the pouches and pour it into a 4 ounce Mason jar. I like the ancient ground for eggs and the kosher for beef because it’s bigger granules.
I've also heard the modern (vs ancient) sea salt is contaminated with radiation from nuclear testing/waste. Salt is useful for measuring radiation, which is why environment clean up crews often carry salt packets at work. Redmonds is protected from radiation exposure and is known for safer mining techniques than the Himalayan varieties.
I visited a Himalayan salt mine in the Alps in Germany, and it's pink, by the way. At least, that is what all the signage stated. I lmao, when I realized all the weird people who believe Himalayan salt was superior. It's not.

I like your explanation max but himalayan sea salt has the most micro plastics out of the 3 unfortunately so for me its redmond then celtic and then himalayan
I'm from Austria, and while we don't have Redmond's here, we do have our own natural salt mines with a company called Bad Ischler (named after the place of their salt mine). They offer many variations of their salt, from completely unprocessed and kind of pink-ish but not quite like Himalayan salt, to refined white table salt, to variations with herbs or spices etc. What's your take on iodized vs. non iodized salt?
Celtic refers to Irish culture and heritage, along with the historical people who migrated from the British Isles throughout much of Europe. While the early pronunciation was with an /s/ sound, reflecting its nearest origin in French, the modern standard is a hard "c" sound like /k/. This is because language historians desired the word to better reflect its Greek and Classical Latin origins. The soft "c" sound is usually reserved for sports teams now, like the Boston Celtics.
I think Redmond is a little overrated. Its not clean salt, it has dirt in it. I prefer Vera salt and i also buy chunks of Himalayan salt and put them in a water jar. Water will saturated up to 27% salt and then you can spritz the salt water. if you use distilled water, then it is the cleanest form you can get.
When I was growing up there was this type of salt called "Aromatic Salt" (my English translation) and it was roughly half sea salt by weight and the other half consisted of sugar, onion, garlic, celery, turmeric, garlic, and depending on the brand a few additional spices. The product was sold among other salts in the store. It was a salt that was put in most chicken dishes, but sometimes people would also put it on grilled meat to make the meat more flavourful. I'm not sure if this product exists in the English speaking world. I don't remember seeing it in the US.
If your nutrition is all carnivore, you’re getting the minerals you need from meat. If you think that the trace amount of minerals in Redmonds is significant to add to your diet, than you should also worry about the trace amount of radioactive material. If you don’t think the trace amount of radioactive material is significant, you shouldn’t expect the amount of minerals to be, either, or the trace amount of microplastics in sea salt. All the hype over Redmonds and Himalayan boggles my mind.

I have used Himalayan salt, but am really not a fan of it because of it's inconsistency.
The top salts have twice the minerals of the cheap salts. Both, however, are negligible to what you would get from a normal healthy diet. The only thing the government does competently is test and maintain food nutrition testing standards. That's where i got this information.
