    You'll never need to worry about cutting the wrong size, spin in circles or waste time trying to figure out what goes where... With ryan's detailed shed plans ruclips.net/user/postUgkxb2mhCug-GkCWrq69Ce2I0nM0D4QpxAqu , it makes building sheds a breeze - just like putting lego bricks together! You'll be able to create the kind of shed, your neighbors and other woodworkers will secretly envy (while mumbling nice job under their breath).

    my snow shovel does double duty too...it helps with yard/leaf work in the summer. But as good as the snow shovel might be, a true sqaure/flat head metal shovel is much better suited to do that gravel work. With as much ground your removed, it almost looks like a raised shed deck, supported by concrete pillars would have been easier. well done. thanks and thank you for your service.

    I am currently building a shed pad, Using a crushed gravel base and laying down pavers for the finished layer. Our slope runs opposite to yours (from front to back). What makes me nervous about finishing the pad below grade is what the water run off will do to the foundation over time. We are doing the opposite for this reason and building a small retaining wall with PT 4x4 to build up the low end rather than dropping the high end. Thank you for the video brother, I would be interested to know how the structure is doing currently.

    Next time don't cut into the ground but instead increase the height of the lower side with more timber, soil and gravel. Even though you added gravel, the whole in the ground will cause all above water to fill in that hole with the pad. Outside of that it was done well.

    • @alexdelara9858
      @alexdelara9858 2 года назад

      Maybe a retention wall ? My situation is the opposite: the property slopes down to back and I'll have to fill in the back... so... gonna build a retention wall, like 2-ft tall on the back and fill it in to level.

    I love that you included the amount of effort taken at the end. Both in terms of real days and hours per day. Gives a really good understanding of roughly we can expect if we’re doing this on our own!
    Only small thing I would add is a small disclaimer if this is your first time trying this project, or if you’re experienced already. This would help a bit more with “padding” the time on our end. E.g. if it’s your first time, I can expect it’ll roughly take me the same time but I’ll still pad it a bit.. but if you do this for a living I might need to pad it by a lot of extra hours or days due to my inexperience.
    Either way GREAT video!

      @Arthur Johnston The labor involved here is way more than one cement slab.

      @@stoneyj1a1 gravel allows the water to flow thru and does not backsplash on the shed leading to the base rotting quicker. Nope,gravel all the way.

    Pad looks good but what are you doing about the back and sides? Sooner or later that dirt is going to slide and be up against your shed walls.....not good.

    Only thing I missed is how you figured out how much to dig to get site level

    • @leverett1
      @leverett1 4 года назад

      1) I tied a string to a stake at the top of the slope 2) raised the other end until it was level, 3) measure distance from ground (bottom of the slope) up to my hand.
