  • Here we clear out a rough area in this clients back yard by removing some stumps, grading, raking and loaming the area. Then we installed a 12' x 14' shed pad base to replace an old one that was destroyed by a fallen tree. I will be back to complete the rest of the loam in the coming weeks.
    Equipment Used:
    Excavator: 2021 Bobcat E26
    Trailer: 2020 Big Tex 14LP
    Tractor: 2019 Kubota BX23s
    Yorke Rake: County Line 5' Yorke Rake

    That mini excavator did an amazing job with the stumps - I would struggle with it with my JD 710 Front end loader back hoe. This reminds me I have o get a thumb for my backhoe.. Thanks for sharing this it gives me some ideas for my current situation!🚜

    Smooth operation but man, just get the string line and level out instead of the ole rock and stick trial and error :) Good enough on the mini that you probably won't even bump the string when you're pushing dirt under it lol

    I was all set on a kx040 and now you have me wanting a e26. Seems like a really good little machine

      Haha, yes it is quite impressive for the size. I now really want a ~5 ton machine in addition to this one!

      I am just over 400 on it right now, did a lot of work with it this season. Oh sweet, always cool to hear of other local owner/operators!

    Wouldn't you want the wood beams sitting on a bed of compacted gravel?

    Really enjoying your videos. Would love to pick up a E26 for my own yard work. Now that you’ve had it a while, any drawbacks to it?

    • @CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC
      @CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC  3 года назад

      I have put 100 hours on it so far and it has impressed me in everyway. It is a great residential and yard machine for sure. Only drawbacks is I wish it had better counter weight for those really heavy rocks/stumps. Might get a bigger counter weight in the future.

    LOVE the new mini ex. How much faster is it than your BX? I had your identical setup but you blew by me with the mini, but I’ve been thinking about making the plunge for a while

    • @CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC
      @CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC  3 года назад

      Well, they are two different machines that cover different purposes; However, the Mini Ex is leagues ahead of the BX in sub grading, digging and manipulation work simply due to the fact it is an excavator platform and built for that. The BX excels at finish grading, material spreading/transport and small digging work. So for most jobs these days, I am realistically almost always taking the mini ex since it'll do what what would take me hours on the BX or even be impossible on the BX (i.e. those stumps I pulled in this job).

    What type of screws did you use at minute mark 16:40 and how long were they please?

    I’m a carpenter noob. I know the first saw is a circular saw. What type of saw is the 2nd one and could it have been used solely? As in, could it have done what the circular saw did?

    • @CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC
      @CarlsonSonLandscapingLLC  Год назад

      Second saw is a Jigsaw. It has a straight reciprocating blade so it allows you to get a straight vertical cut. If I used the circular saw for the whole cut it would have over cut into the section I wanted to keep due to the circular blade and ruin its structural integrity.

      Concrete cracks over time, gravel also gets better drainage for drier ground
