    Also before they pour concrete they put a 3 to 4 inch high base of gravel. This helps with drainage and keeping it level as over time it sinks into the ground. Hope that helps, pouring a bad that size by yourself isn't too bad and always a good option👐

    A shipment of gravel for small shed is going to set me back $1,000, not including the cost of the gravel itself. If one already lives in an area with sandy soil is the gravel layer still necessary? Also, what about using cinder block vs. treated lumber around the perimeter? If the ground isn't level it seems like cinder bock pony/retaining wall has a better chance of holding in the compacted soil/sand/gravel and preventing subsidence than a wooden perimeter. Can this reasonably be expected to substitute for the wood if reinforced with rebar and quick-set cement?

    Use gravelhold, it locks/glues gravel together.

    I built mine from scratch and put sonotubes in the ground and built up from there there was no issues at all
