There’s also a great documentary surrounding the systemic issues STILL happening in Arkansas. Strangely, her “plan" includes upping the pay of teachers. This is actually in alignment with the Democratic plan. Instead of talking about the commonalities AND differences, she chose to harp on the differences and reframe the commonalities as some new conservative plan.
The "new" republican leaders hate democracy. They are theocrats that would like to use the government to enforce their religious and moral ideas. We can no longer live in the contradicting mythology of America as a "Christian" nation whilst also espousing it as a nation that upholds freedom of religion. The culture wars that she speaks of is at the heart of this strange mythology. Liberals bring civil rights legislation - legislation specific to ALL of its citizens - then conservatives get angry because the legislation affirms personal freedoms that their religion doesn’t uphold. This is how we get into “woke politics” and “political correctness” and all the other terms derived from the right when “the other” in this country seeks to be included.
