If you use this, make sure to save a snapshot of your routing (before you routed it back thru the card). So in case the waves server fails you can quickly recall your standard routing scenario and keep the audio working
Great video as always Drew. This becomes such a nuanced conversation when thinking about which deployment path makes sense for each individual. SuperRack Performer is $99 minus the cost of the plug-ins. With a laptop you can basically use it on anything provided you have at least a USB connection, but it does have latency… so performance will vary, depending on some factors. The Waves card cuts that latency a good amount, but it’s $599, and you still have to pay another $600 for the SoundGrid Software, correct? There’s a reasonable argument to be made for either side especially if you can get that latency down to near zero, but what makes it more complicated is that you’re putting a $600 card in an X32 which has been around for a while.. probably several years in many of our churches. If the board dies, the card is useless, unless we get another x32, right? Ufff that’s a tough argument to wrap my head around. Keep the videos coming, they are great.
Performer won't work great on IEMs, or for multiple passes like channels AND busses as latency will double. Servers will make less sense over time as the average computer becomes faster, but I'd say if you can double patch your channels so the latency won't effect monitor mixes, then usb is fine for FOH
Hey Drew question: with this card + a sound grid server, can you run plugins on the console AND simultaneously multitrack record to a DAW for virtual soundcheck?
Great video. I have an X32 with Dante card and waves multirack but I got a Wing with dante card and Waves Superrack. Took me a bit to figure it out and I am almost at the point where I can switch to the Wing. Do you have any videos for the Wing with Dante and Waves?
Hi, I'm Mattia, congratulations for the videos you make. One question do you know how to put a reverb/Dly of the waves on X32 without using its EFX? Waves can be used on the master if so how? Greetings and thanks for the work you do
Hello Drew. Been on the fence with this for a while because its quite expensive. I bought the superrack performer and bought it before I realized that it makes doing virtual sound checks a total pain in the butt because I basically lost the use of my cards because of all kinds of routing problems. So if I went this route instead, how do we get virtual sound checks. If I were to purchase a x32 rack and install my Card into that instead could I make it work again? At this point I am even considering going to a different board because the expense can really start adding up. The combo waves card along with soundgrid and the proton computer is 2200 bucks.
My understanding in the context of 48k versus 44.1k, that the higher the sample rate, the higher the volume of data, which means more time to process it. More latency. Is that not accurate?
You would want to use the USB card, and then use Waves SuperRack Performer with a computer to do it. Check it out here: ruclips.net/video/OqhDXBdVYFI/видео.html But the DN32-WSG converts to the Waves SoundGrid, which does require a WSG server.
With Waves Soundgrid, you are only able to use SoundGrid plugins. But if you use Waves SuperRack Performer, you could use any VST plugins. Check it out: ruclips.net/video/OqhDXBdVYFI/видео.html
@@DrewBrashler Thank you so much Drew. I was trying to decide on which I would purchase, it looks like SuperRack Performer wins. I will watch your video as well. You have been amazing thank you my friend.
The total number of fragile single points of failure in this set up is a lot. I say this to you because I would not use this for something mission critical like a high budget corporate event.

Thanks for a lot of uploads recently :) Waiting for more!

Great video as always, thank you, very helpful for me and our church
Great video Drew. May you post a video on how to setup Waves Soundgrid on Allen & Heath GLD-80 console.

Excellent video on an amazing product.

Thanks for the very interesting video. it would be poslibe to explain how to do the routing with Waves eMotion LV1 Live Mixer. Regads
Don't forget about the latency of the plugins. IIRC the latency of the 6-band comp is quite high.
Thanks Drew!
Thank you for such beautiful content my friend, I am waiting for the same video on Yamaha CL AND QL Series if possible.
It is possible to create a wave extreme server (it cost $2399 at the time) for less than $200.😊
What synchronization setting do you use? Internal or Exp. Card
I have a similar setup but experiencing a delay in output. How do I fix it.
Can we use the Dante instead of the Waves card? Also, if you cant, can you plug another computer to the switch to do 32 channels of recording?
What’s the setup to multitrack record and run super rack simultaneously? Will this clause issues ?
Also can you route subgroups/buses instead of 1 to 1 patching of inputs.
Should you change x32 clock to card when using WSG?
Great question

So there's no way to use this while still utilizing digital soundcheck?

Is that not accurate?
Simultaneously, is there any way I can do multitrack recording on this kind of setup?
How come no one is making a waves card for the wing?
Can we do this on Wing?
This thing is available for wing ?
01:05 ...or the DN32-USB or DN32-LIVE...
Can you run that set up with the card without the mobile server?
