@@Erik-uo1cx you do know that Agadmator is the most popular chess channel on RUclips,. I challenge you to give another social medium that is more popular than Tony’s channel. How many regular / casual chess fans have watched Agadmator’s videos and been exposed to current grandmasters and past legends. Just think the amount of chess games have been watched on his channel. I can go on and on but I think made my point.
Agad, I have been watching for a while now. You made quality content back then and you make quality content today. I always watch when im getting ready for bed. Thank you!
At 6:30, I still like Bb3 to skewer the queen and rook. Best response is probably Qc1, Bxd1; Qxd1. We have a rook for a bishop and his problems remain. If he isn't careful, after Qxb6 we can follow with Rb1 to pin and win his queen.
It's the same - I remember that I (2270 ELO) was able to win the club championship once. Last round against a 1900 player. I traded everything because a draw was enough for me. And then I had the endgame knight and 2 pawns against knight and one pawn. Despite the extra pawn, I couldn't prevent the opposing pawn from being converted to a queen. I learned from this lesson.
Bcz if bishop b3 then rook captures on e8 and now if black takes queen, white will play bishop to h6 and black can't defend aggainst rook takes bishop on f8 checkmate.
Well if you do that white is just going to ignore your bishop, capture with Rxe8 and after Bxc2 you can double the rooks on the 8th rank and still have the threat of Bh6. It's not necessarily winning for white but it's tricky to play for black. Back will probably have to trade his queen for a rook to avoid checkmate so best case scenario it's a pretty equal position and you've gained nothing and wost case scenario you don't play it perfectly and you either lose a lot of material or you get checkmated. Whereas Kg7 is winning and Rxd8 is losing for black.
@@njememaiev9961 Not exactly true as, after moving the bishop, the e6 tile is free for the c5 knight that would defend f8. But it's definitely a tricky position to play for black that at best will probably lead to an equal position/material.
More than anyone else in top level chess (except perhaps Dubov) - from what I can tell, at least. When Artemiev had to find Kf7 I was so blown away that that was the way forward that it immediately conjured the image of Tal's quote about leading your opponent into a deep dark forest from which there is only one path out

29... Kf7 was the best move for black but Bb3 with an attack on the Queen on c2 instead of Rxd8? was playable too, black is still better here. But it's hard to see that when you have only 20 seconds left, it takes a few minutes for me , I saw the best move Kf7 just a bit earlier but hadn't calculated everything very well in that time.
It's how they're often referred to among chess fans because 1. there are several Vladislavs in the world of chess and 2. people find it easier to pronounce Alireza's first name correctly rather than his surname. I don't think it's a matter of rank or age because people commonly call Magnus Carlsen and Wesley So by their first name too.
"Devilishly tricky" firouzja strikes again. He thrives in complications.
Right, and furthermore, I've seen a few games where he gets a rook on the A file, then on the 8th rank.
as DOES Dubov.
Chess is incredibly complex. What fantastic play from two giants of the game.
